OMG! I couldn't believe the last 5 minutes or so of the finale of DH. It really threw me (who was that guy with Susan anyway?!)
I had to laugh at Gabrielle (too funny!)
It should prove to be interesting. I did guess that what's her name's daughter had died as a child, and she had another pretending it was the other (since she had no recollection of anything from her childhood on Wisteria Lane.)

Sigh...I could go on and on, but I'll stop.
Sue Ellen

Cheri - sent you a package!!

And purchased travel insurance:thumbsup2 TravelEx Travelite policy. Travel delay is what I look for. Me no wanna be without luggage and baby items if we get stuck somewhere.:scared:

So cross that off the list. check.:cool2:

Now on to bathing suits....:scared: :scared1:

Beano - going to Whiskers Campground this weekend by chance?? We will be up at the cabin in Central Camp..... Just saying maybe you should stop by if'n you will be in the neighborhood camping. :rolleyes1

I got a couple new suits last summer ( bikinis :scared1: :rotfl2: ) and one clearance "tankini" this spring at Target. Hopin' the elastic is still holding in a couple of OLD ones.:scared: Picked up a new one today for DH on sale at Kohl's...and a couple of shirts for him & DS to wear for pirate nite - matching skulls. Discussed our swim team options today with the county rec swim director...so speaking of new bathing suits...appears that we're gonna put DS into a summer swim program to get him ready for the fall/winter indoor one. It starts NEXT WEEK at the outdoor pool!! It has been in 40's at night and low 60's during the day - and it's NOT HEATED! :scared1: The first few weeks will be COLD! I think he might need a wetsuit! :lmao: So I am gonna have to go to some special store to at least get him one of those fugly skin tight bathing suits. They don't wear trunks in competition. I guess they call them jammers now, not speedos and they're not QUITE as vulgar looking...they're longer...more like bike shorts. But since DS is so-o skinny...I just hope I can find one to fit him. Not something I can buy & bring home w/o him with me...it's gonna be a shopping trip together to be sure it fits.

Speaking of camping....popped into Walmart today & bought a tent repair kit for our little boo boo & a tube of seam sealer....now to see if I can get DH to put the tent up this weekend so we can work on it.:sad2:

OK, so where have all you Grey's people been all this time?! I thought I was the only one of us who watched it! :confused3 I broke down and gave up on DH this year. I have them all TIVO'd - or some of them anyway...but just couldn't keep up.

We had rain, blessed rain about 6:00 tonight, probably earlier up at Betsy's house. The late news just said Ft. Laud. had 1.30 inches. It also cooled it off from high 90's to mide 80's.:cool1:
I just had a good evening. Two of my granddaughters called me. I am still in shock:lovestruc

We have had beautiful weather here this week. Unusually cool for this time of May (only in the low 70's) but WOW is it beautiful!! I know most people open their pools around here over Memorial Day weekend, but we are going to hold off opening ours since it's cool (well, that and the price of the chemicals and electricity to run the pump are more than I want to spend right now!)
The kids will be disappointed, but they will live.

I wish the cruise would get here quickly. I'm ready to lay around on the deck relaxing as much as possible (okay, truth is I'm really wanting to lay around relaxing the in the SPA!)

We have a wedding to go to over the weekend (one of the managers where Tara works is getting married) so we will be busy.

Kids are out of school tomorrow since we didn't use the snow days built into the calendar, so they have a four day weekend.

Off to finish more work (still answering emails--nothing like working at 1:00 a.m.)
Got voted in as PTO president for Trevor's school last night, so I'll be handing over the Treasurer duties to another sucker

What are you other peeps doing this weekend? Anything fun?

Um... SueEllen...whose the sucker...???:lmao: Now you're the PRESIDENT!!:lmao:

I always run the other way when the PTO moms head in my direction.:dance3:
Oph - my friends niece is the stunt double on Heroes. She says we should see something in July. We can hope.:worship:

Anne - I am sure the firefighters are thrilled to see the rain. May it help with those fires! And yay for 2 calls in one night!:woohoo:

Everyone have a good weekend. Gots alots to do tomorrow so not sure I will have time to check in.

Be safe if you are traveling!!

This has been SO cool! :happytv:

I have been editing/importing Disney video for the last few days; they're from our last 9 years worth of trips to WDW and on DCL. I installed a 1TB drive just for this purpose. Ah, the memories! :goodvibes

I am reliving some of my favorite moments of all time!

(I am doing this to incorporate these video clips into my DVD for this year's trip. Have an idea, I do!)

Anyway, it gave me the idea to post this question to all y'all:

What are your favorite, let's say... 5 moments/memories from your past Disney trips?

I'll start.

#5 - The first time I walked into Epcot and under Spaceship Earth with my family. Our first ever trip to WDW, Nov. 2000.

#4 - Seeing how excited the kids were at Donald's character breakfast (Animal Kingdom) when Mickey visited our table.

#3 - Walking through the doors at the entrance to the Polynesian and getting the first whiff of "that smell"!

#2 - Can't explain this one in too much detail. Let's just say it involved a birthday, a special Castmember, barbells and a great rack. ;) Those who were present know precisely what I mean.

#1 - Meeting some very wonderful people who have become our greatest friends in the world. Yeah... That's been pretty cool. :thumbsup2

Ok, your turn!

Ok now, I want all y'all to give me your best memories. tarzanman, ophie RJ, soccermom, Disneydumbnut, Suellen ... EVERYBODY!

In fact, it's high time that the elusive 'soccerdad' exposed himself (if you'll pardon the expression) and got in on this thread. We are vacationing together in less than 2 months, for Pete's sake!!

(Who's Pete??)

I shall text him and tell him to get his sorry butt online and join in the fun!!:cool1:

So, Chris... what say you?

Oh! I just thought of another one!

And it's no wonder why I didn't think of it before!!

Getting into Cozumel at 10:00 PM and going ashore... and returning to the ship at 4:00 A.M. !!

We missed Cayman because of weather, therefore we pulled into Cozumel the night before the planned itinerary. And then: Senor Frogs. Carlos and Charlies. Shots and beers.

OUCH.

Yep, good times! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

So, Chris... what say you?

Apparently, I have been summoned, by The Beanster himself no less, to "expose myself" on this very thread. Now, though some of you have already had the dubious distinction of witnessing this type of behavior from me in the past (and have had to absorb the resulting therapy bills), I suppose it's high time for me to change into nothing, slip on my gray overcoat, and give everyone a thrill.... :scared1:

Okay, so it's the top 5 Disney vacation moments? Hmmmmm......I'm not gonna be quite as sentimental as Beano was.....but, here goes, in no particular order:

Okay, this would be my list, in no particular order:

1) My son Timmy giving his faithful Uncle Beano a lecture on the critical importance of "capturing the Magic" of the events of the vacation (on digital video, that is). Timmy makes clear what his (and Beano's) responsibilities in this regard are. Luckily, Beano was already dialed in to this point, as this priceless dialogue was caught on video forever.

2) My first on-board DIS party in Beano's Roy Suite on the Magic. Technically speaking, this may be a violation of Beano's request for best memories, since I have very few clear memories of that afternoon/evening. However, as Beano noted, phenomenal relationships that get stronger each year were begun in that room, on that day.

3) While Beano looks back on the birthday/castmember/barbell/rack incident, I recall witnessing a birthday/castmember/party exchange involving Snow White and the use of a certain expletive that I cannot use here. This occurred that same night, in that same place, and I won't soon forget it.....of this, I too can say no more.....

4) Beano and I (with perhaps some help from our friends), being placed in the trio of predicaments of a) being on vacation, b) being very thirsty, and c) being confined to Castaway Cay on a warm day, somehow managed to consume, in one afternoon, every single Coors Light they had at the Heads Up bar. This is yet another "memory" of which I have very little, but I have it on good authority that it indeed happened (considering the bar bill and that it's on tape). For the record, we are aspiring to a similar outcome this year!! Only this time, with 3 visits, we're vying for the elusive Triple Crown....run out 3 times in 3 visits, all in a single week......any takers on this action?!?

5) I can't think of any people in the world, aside from immediate family members, that my daughter Cassie adores more than the members of the Creighton family. For her birthday (just a few weeks ago), she wanted to go to Disneyland and take a friend along. We managed to work it out where The Creightons could make it down for the weekend, a fact which we deviously kept from Cassie. When the time came to surprise her (on Main Street at DL), the look of surprise and delight on her face is one I'll never forget.

Okay, next.

Oh, by the way, for those of you I haven't met.....HI, I'm Chris....aka Soccerdad.....and yes, I do actually exist....

:woohoo: Chris has finally made an appearance!

Um Beano, it's kinda hard to pick only 5 memories when you're me and love all things Disney :rotfl:

Think on it I must!

Five Top Vacation Moments...hmmm:

1)The first time I took Kate to Disney World...she was almost 3 and she couldn't wait to "ride in a yellow tea cup". We checked into the Poly, hopped on the monorail and went over to MK...the look on her face when she got into a yellow tea cup was PRICELESS..I will have to scan and post it!

2) Kate's face when she thought Mickey Mouse snuck a Cinderella Nightgown into her suitecase when we stayed the following year at the Comtempory..she was SURE that he must have packed it in her suitcase before they brought them upstairs

3) Crossing the gangplank and hearing our name called on the MAGIC

4) Having beverages at SIGNALS after sailaway and giving a play-by-play of an open window incident - Who's been a BAD GIRL

5) FINDING OUT I AM HAVING A DISNEY FAIRY TALE VOW RENEWAL WITH ALL MY FRIENDS IN LESS THAN 60DAYS!!!!

Only 5???? I'll have to think.

Congrats, Sue Ellen! Peter is retiring from treasurer this year too. Hes had enough. Hey, that's who Pete is. ;)

And Beano & SE, thanks for the info on DH. I can't believe I haven't heard that on any of the talk shows yet. I won't be watching til tomorrow night, but I don't like surprises, so I wanted to know. :rolleyes1

Kids are out of school tomorrow since we didn't use the snow days built into the calendar, so they have a four day weekend.

What are you other peeps doing this weekend? Anything fun?

OK, so am I the only peep who doesn't have either have a pool in our backyard or a community pool to go to? Backyard pools just aren't around found so much around here...probably 'cuz land is so expensive here that most of us don't have big enough yards for them! And the stoopid county laws for community pools have a BIG loophole the builders can use to get around it. I think it's something like if they build a single development of 500+ homes they have to put in a community pool BUT if they break it up into sections / phases and name them all something different it gets them around this requirement. So for us, Toll Brothers has been building here for about 10 years and still are building - but they broke our development up into 3 different phases. So we're in the original section. Then there's 2 other ones and we're all clustered together and connect with streets & paths BUT we all have different HOA's - so I'm sure we've got well over 500 homes, but no pool!!!!! So we have to go to a county facility.:headache: The county really messed up with that law.

Hi Chris! Can't wait to meet ALL the peeps in a couple of months! You guys can have all the Coors Light - my DH will be looking for Miller Lite or Amstel and I'll be lookin' for somethin' over ice!:goodvibes (I get  sick on beer before I get to that point of no return (memory)!!:scared: )

Beano - fav. Disney memory? Hummmm....ALL of them! :rotfl: Of course we have a lot of them from our first trip to WDW with DS in like 2002 or whatever - I think he was 5 so we had to meet every character we saw and ride all the kiddie rides....that whole trip has its own special memories. Then the 2nd time we went the next year I think we decided to keep WHERE we were going on vacation a secret and try to surprise him. We had an early flight out of Dulles so we went to the HI to stay the night before just like we'd done the summer before...and do you know that little Bugger REMEMBERED the hotel when we pulled up and started guessing we were going to WDW. :sad2: We did not give in and admit it but rather made him wait until we got on the Disney bus. That trip we attempted on our first day to get him on Space Mountain. We went to the front of the line to get him measured and the measuring stick thing the lady had was brushing his hair but wasn't touching his head so she said NO!:scared1: We were all so upset. We went back a couple days later to see if a diff. CM might be more forgiving and do you know that he'd had a growth spurt like over night and this time the stick hit him in the forehead!?!:woohoo: :cool1:  So I would have to say that right there was probably our most unforgettable Disney moment! We always say he wanted to ride it SO-O bad he grew overnight - so DS's first ride on Space Mountain is my fav. memory!!:thumbsup2 You'd have thought we won the lottery! Then of course the first time we saw the Magic! Another teary moment!

No big plans here for the weekend....hoping DH can make it home in time to get to the PO before 4:00 so we can get DS's new passport ordered. Traffic could be an issue with the holiday weekend tho. Going to a cookout tomorrow afternoon at one of DH's coworkers house - don't know a sole 'cept this guy that I met once or twice.:scared: Must be on best behavior.:) Sometime over the weekend we need to do tent repairs....and some gardening....and am hoping it's warm enough to sit outside and get some sun for a couple of hours sometime and I think probably a small cookout next door either Sun. eve. or Mon. afternoon with the other neighbors who stayed in town.

Here's my tv schedule:

Heros & Lost - The world revolves around this time. It worked out great how the seasons were separated.

Eureka (SciFi Channel)
Ugly Betty - but missed most all of this year
Monk, Psych, House - when they are Friday's on USA
ER
The Office - only reruns or when DS17 flips the TV channel

Most Memorable at Disney:

1,2, 3. All my 3 son's celebrated their 1st birthdays at WDW. During this time, they stopped using baby bottles and pacifiers. Their regular schedule was disturbed and did not have "their crying, moaning, complaining..." for their pacifier or sucking their thumbs.

4. DS17 was on stage at MGM for Live with Doug. He was Captain Underpants.

5. DS10 had to go through Early Intervention Child program because he could or would not talk. The summer after his 3rd b-day, we went to a character meal with Goofy. DS10 maybe had 50 words and no more than 2 word sentences. Goofy shows up and DS10 starts yelling: "Come here, Goofy. Who, who, who let the dogs out. Sign this, Goofy. Over here, Goofy." DS17 was saying some things also and DS10 would repeat. I'm yelling at DH for a pen and I am looking for a paper to write on. I'm busy writing down the words he said to give to the speech therapist. We are all getting excited that DS10 was talking. DS10 starts jumping up and down and yelling louder at Goofy and starts being obnoxious and starts causing a scene. I'm still busy writing new words. Finally DH had to control the 2 boys especially DS10. Goofy never came to our table. I had to explain to the other guests that DS10 never talks and we were just shocked that he had so many new words in this 5 minute moment.

Cheri - I got my Pfaff back and paid $108 to get it fixed. I haven't used it yet. So if there are big waves, I'm going to have find you and strap my wrist to your wrist watch:rotfl:

DDN, I am disappointed with the kitchen backsplash. This was the only thing we could not think of what to do when we renovated this house. So we waited until we came up with the perfect idea. Our tiler came back and did a great job but my friend picked out the color of the glass tiles. It looks green and not yellow. The tin backsplash directly behind the gas stove is more matted gray than shiny stainless steel it was suppose to be. All this is lined with stainless steel tile which I do like but it's now tooo shiny with the matted tin. DH said that we can repaint the tin and repaint the kitchen wall later. This means, it's going to be like this for a very, very, long time because it was costly already.

I am taking the day off today to cook. Tonight is Spare Ribs for the kids and Pork Chops for In-Laws. I've got to season my brisket to get it smoked by my friend. This will be frozen and eaten later all through summer. Broiled honey bbq chicken for Grad party tomorrow night. T-bones to be marinated for grilling on Sunday. Left overs on Monday!! Of course I still have to do sides for Grad party.

We were going to have a big grad party because it was going to be a open house to show our newly renovated house. But I started scaling back the number of people because we haven't totally unpacked. Then I had the wrong date of grad party. It's over Mem weekend. Lots of our friends are going out of town. So the party of 50 went down to 20 and now just 8 couples and their kids. So it is quite manageable.

I LOVED Indy Jones. It was not as high tech but the story line was incredible!! I think this is the real story of the aliens!!! Did anybody see the movie, "The Hills Have Eyes 1 & 2"? Some of their scenes are in the Indy film. Everytime now when a person stupidly walks in a scary moment and we perdict that he's gonna die, we say, "He's dead". We did it during the blast scene in Indy.

Off to the grocery and kitchen for me. Have a great weekend, Peeps!!

Favorite memories--that's going to take some time (because there are just TOOO many from which to choose.) I'll think some more and post.

News from DCL--no more Banana Boat excursions. The company that was doing these has decided not to offer it any longer. Not sure if they will find another to do it, but latest scoop is that it's gone. (now if we can just find out about the Eco Tour for certain it would be nice.)

Sounds like a busy weekend for so many.

SE

Ok, in no particular order...

1)On our trip in 2000 Cam was unbearable...didnt want to do anything, complained, etc... I vowed I would never take him anywhere again (yeah right). 2001 we were getting off Dumbo and he was happily yelling "Can we do that again????". That moment I just stopped and thought I was so glad I gave it another try.

2)2000 Our first full day, wallking down Main St early in the morning. Colt was in the carriage (8 months old) kicking his feet to the music, huge smile on, and just looking around. Its one of those times when I see the video I get teary eyed its just so cute. Ironcially at the airport we realized our video cam broke and we ended up buying a new one in WDW($$$$ ). When I watch that video I know its priceless.:thumbsup2 Also to go with this one since it the same trip and same kid, Colt's first haircut at the Barber Shop.

3) Our 10th anniversay quickie 2 night trip. On our anniversary we had an amazing dinner at YSH (they gave me a rose) and then we were walking over to Jellyrolls but stopped on the bridge where we caught some of Illuminations. Ahhhh.....:lovestruc

4) Our 2005 trip....our first trip to DL, (and our first time having a verandah on the cruise).

5) My birthday in 03! After dinner at Kona Cafe we got drinks at the Tambu Lounge and went to the beach. The kids were playing in the sand, DH and I sat in lounge chairs withour drinks, watching the fireworks. This was probably my overall favorite "moment". :wizard:

And I have to give an honorable mention to all 4 of my early December trips, meeting up with Dis friends and the Jellyrolls meets. :cool1:

The more I think about it the more upset I am about DCL moving up the onboard time at Nassau from 7:00 to 5:00. :headache: That's going to bite into our Atlantis time if we have to prepare to head back to the ship at 3:30. I hear it takes most of the day to get thru all of it. I am extra glad now that I got that lower rate on the CS since we're getting ripped off on our time now!
