MIL loves me!! She sent me an email of our ressie number, password, and notifying me that she booked 6:30 for the 3rd night!!

She decided not to book our Discover Atlantis Tour for the 5 of us. She went ahead and booked just for 2. DH is mad at me for saying how expensive that tour will cost her for the 5 of us especially if we want to only stay for a.m. only.

Did anybody here find out how much a taxi will be to go to Atlantis?

Annie,

Make the ressie name under your parents or siblings name. Then call and change the name back to your name. Say that you are booking another room for the other people in your family going at the same time. Say you are paying for both rooms. I did that before with MS. Savings is SAVINGS!!

Ok. So about the booking another room thing. That is total bull honky. You should be able to book another room because you want to. Why should they care? It is your responsibility to have an adult in each room. They should be minding their own business. I called and made probably 3 different reservations for the same night at Vero Beach when were setting up the wedding. They didn't care then. I would call back and just tell them to book it and not even mention the other reservation that you have. Just do it like you need it. Then cancel the other one.

I think they have a new computer system or something 'cuz they KNEW I had the other ressie. It was like they could see between AP and DVC and regular ressies. I think the problem was that I was trying to mix DVC cash and AP discount rates. I called back a 2nd time and was told the same thing! NOT allowed to have more than one ressie she said. I was ticked. As May said, if I called DVC and changed the names on my DVC cash ressie then I could maybe book the AP rate...then call DVC back. Sounds like too much work to me tho! But I agaree - I think it's bunk!! I got a PM from somebody telling me to try to book on the AP site. I didn't know you could book ressies there on that site. Might have to at least go look at it....

OK, no luck on the AP site. They offered the new AP rates on the value & moderate resorts and at SSR and OKW but no deluxe properties popped up under the special passholder deals. If I used the regular link for the deluxe resorts the pool view room came up at the old rack rate of $962. I really think they're enforcing some kind of crazy new rule that nobody's aware of yet (until now). Sigh. Just figures they'd start with me!

I really wanted to try the DVC studio at AKV - I'm just being extra super stingy right now with my pennies! I don't think the $146 diff. will be a life altering thing for us. At least let's hope not! We'll just keep the studio. Still trying to figure out if I start to sell 'Tastefully Simple' how many beer bread mixes I'll have to sell in a week to make $20 / hour!

We are staying in a DVC AKL studio for the nights of the 16th through the 18th. You are welcome to come and check it out. It will be a mess of stuff for a few days at WDW and a cruise but if you can see past the mess.

Yes, we ran into her in '05 before the Halloween Cruise on our way out of Epcot (the day when TZM and I drank our way around food & wine fest twice with crazy strangers after all the cruise peeps departed. We were there so late that there were only a handful of cars in our section of parking lot). Annnnnnyway... she informed us that she preferred the old Mickey Hat to the wand as adornments for Spaceship Earth... you can see why we thought she was "out of her _______ mind!"

Cheri - NO!! Not $962 / night! Total for 3 n with tax! Orig. rack rate was $962...the AP 40% discount rate = $637. (The DVC "value studio" is costing us $785 with our member discount.) Trying to decide if I should leave well enough alone!?

Sue Ellen - you have magic powers that I did not know about!!! Do you know what all this "only one ressie at a time" thing is about? Is it a new rule or is it something old they're just now starting to enforce? I have not had a chance to talk to DH about any of it yet tonite...I tend to drive him crazy with my obsessing! Imagine THAT one! Anyway, I will run it all by him when I go up in a few minutes!

If you are using DVC cash ressie then the other name has to be a DVC member. Use your name on one, use DH's name on the other. You can't have the same person's name on each other's ressies. So remove DH on your current ressie. Just add more names to the AKL to equal the number of people in your party. $146 is your meal money unless you really don't want to stay at AKL. I booked flights to Tampa (1 stop) instead of Orlando with no stops to save $150! That $150 was our rental car. We would have had to rent at Orlando anyway. Savings is SAVINGS!! You will still be at WDW either way.
