We are all wiped out from hanging w/ the Crout's. Not sure if it was the sun (plenty) or the way we do Disneyland (Big Thunder then Autopia then Haunted Mansion then back for Buzz Lightyear - read: NO order). We have done absolutely nothin except get groceries.

It was a great excuse to get out of a neighbor's birthday party. It was to celebrate a 1st birthday ... for their dog. This is place is so weird.

After seeing Golden Mickeys and Dreams a few times, we might pass on them. There is always plenty to do (tipsy shuffleboard anyone?). This time I HAVE to make it to at least one trivia/Scattergories/game-like thing. Missed those every single time for some reason or another.
(And, I can imagine after three days in the CC sun, sitting in the theatre might equal sleepy time for Cheri - and watching the curtains move .... )

Morning ya'll!!

OK, so I was reading on another thread that you need water shoes for both Serenity Bay and for the Stingray excusion! Opinions from those who have been there / done that?! We HAVE water shoes but I wasn't planning on BRINGING them for this trip!:goodvibes What do ya'll think?! Should I make room for them somewhere along with the snorkeling equipment?!:confused3 Is the beach on Serenity Bay really that much different from the family beach or are these ppl just extra sensitive? We always just bring flip flops or Crocs for the beach. And what's with needing them for the stingrays? (Do stingrays bite toes!?:rotfl: )

:rotfl2:

Feliz Cinco De Mayo to you all too! Last year I celebrated with Margaritas in Epcot. Somehow its not the same this year. :(

Funny you mention that, Annie. I wanted to get water shoes for the kids for this trip becaue of the water park. Sounds like they are a must now. I dont remember needing them at SB, but Ive only been there once. I know on the family beach I got this porcupine thingy stuck in my foot once. (ewwwwww!) Ive been careful ever since.

Most people seem to go barefoot in the water parks I think. We took them one year, several years ago & were definitely in the minority so I stopped taking them.:confused3 I am not sure if there are any restrictions on any of the body slides for wearing them or not?!:confused3

I'm making quesadilla's for Cinco De Mayo...probably with a Corona Light!:thumbsup2

(See ya got yourself a fancy new ticker there!)

Hey gang.... OK.... Idea! The available jobs out there are few and far between...I am down to 3 1/2 months left on the Unemployment line. So I started kicking around the idea of doing a direct sell thing. I think the two that I am probably most interested in would be either PartyLite (candles) or Tastefully Simple (food...beer bread, dips etc.).

Thoughts....comments....opinions....advice on either?!??!!:confused3 How many of you are familiar with one or the other?! I like the products from both companies and I think that's important. I think some of the Pampered Chef and Longaberger stuff is too expensive...already know somebody selling Southern Living (and that's not my style anyway). Seems like a lot of people doing Silpada these days. Not into Mary Kay or Avon...never have been...never will be. (And of course our dear SE is doing Thirty-One :goodvibes ) So-o-o?!

I like the idea that both of these are consumable products...people will always be looking for a "fix" or to get "hooked up" if they have something they really like and they want more of it - esp. if they can order it w/o having a party. I know I stocked up on a candle scent a couple years ago that was being discontinued with PartyLite and some Tastefully Simple stuff that was being discontinued awhile back... I think some people get hooked on a particular candle scent...or the beer bread & a dip... :rolleyes1 :confused3 I am a little worried about a couple of aspects of it...just the ability to keep the momentum really. I wonder how much can really be made at this?! I know some people do it for fun or for a little extra spending money...but I am looking at trying to replace my income.:scared:

Which one do you think would be the best long-term business?! As a for instance...would you rather go to a food party or a candle party?!

Annie,
Direct sales is a good way to supplement an income but unless you work at it REALLY hard the income will likely not be what you were used to making at another job (although the potential is there.)
Now that being said, I like Thirty-One so far. I'm still new to it, but so far so good. My sister does Pampered Chef, and another friend does Tastefully Simple. Party-Lite has never done very well around here.

Good luck with whatever you do.

I'm back on board.

It was a tough April month with my coaching my ds6 kinder team. My asstant was a no-helper. He was just a win/win/win attitude. He wanted me to play 5 forwards because we were losing 2-0. I kept getting awful emails from him. I only coached soccer for 10 years and he has never played soccer before.

Also in the past month was college decision for my oldest, ds17. He plans to study aerospace engineering at CalPoly in San Luis Obispo. This DCL is his graduation party from my MIL.

Nothing but scout camping twice for ds10 occurred in the last 5 weeks

MIL is going to sign us up for the Discover Atlantis excursion. We are going to try to be first off the boat. We'll visit Atlantis in the am. Then MIL & FIL wants to return to the ship. Anybody else doing the Discover Atlantis? I was hoping to bring food off the ship and eat it on Atlantis somewhere before taking the bus back to port. We plan to go to the straw market and then plan on going to the Pirate museum and the Rum cake Factory in the pm.

MIL also will sign up for tubes and 1 hour bike rentals at 1st day CC.

She is going to try to sign us up for Palo at the 90 day mark wich is May 6. I am hoping to do 3rd night 6pm. It does not seem like she wants to sign us up for Palo. They were not impressed. They don't want us to miss the Pirate dinner. I said that if we can get the 6pm 3rd night, we won't miss the Pirate Party at 8:45. It is ok for us to miss the live show that evening. She never knew there was a Pirate Party at 8:45. I know most of you are going to the Vow Renewal. Is there anybody else doing Palo and which night?

She is getting ticked off that I know alot about this cruise. She really wanted me to relax and let her show the ropes. I'm informing her more and it disturbs her. DH is being the mediator. I have a feeling that as soon as I can get on the boat, I will be making a mad dash to Palo ressie line and other ressie lines. She won't tell me the login info to make my own.

Our stateroom is on the 2nd deck.

I still have to sew the 2nd window I have been putting it off. I still plan on doing the fish extender. I would like to be on the list.

I tried reading some of the postings during work. I only get a 15 minute lunch. I am hourly so I just post an extra 45 minutes of work daily so I can earn my 40 hours fast and get off work early on Fridays. I am also overworked since he fired my coworker. I am doing my coworkers job and my own regular job. Also we are not suppose to surf during work.

I feel for you, Annie. When ds17 goes to college in Sept, I am hoping to go back and find an engineering job. I need to make more money than ds17's college tuition!

I bought the 2008 6th edition passporter for DCL. I really like it.

I can't think of anything else.

night,
mmcd (may)

I thought about Bob as soon as I read it! But I let you be the proud mom and post it!! :woohoo:

My boss (the son) is going to Tampa this morning..if I could just get the dad to go somewhere, I might have a pretty good day!

I'm back on board.

Hi May - welcome back!

Nothing but scout camping twice for ds10 occurred in the last 5 weeks

Our DS (turning 11 this month) was a Webelo II this yr. and we just finished up the beginning of March...we are not going on to Boy Scouts! (Too much camping - he's not into it!:rotfl: ) So we're done with scouts!:woohoo:

MIL is going to sign us up for the Discover Atlantis excursion. We are going to try to be first off the boat. We'll visit Atlantis in the am. Then MIL & FIL wants to return to the ship. On the 4 n we're doing a dolphin swim that we booked on our own outside of DCL and we booked a room at the Comfort Suites to do Atlantis on the 3 n cruise.

MIL also will sign up for tubes and 1 hour bike rentals at 1st day CC.

We're doing the 2 day float / tube rental option on the 4 n...it was such a good deal...only like a couple dollars more than the one day rental...probably no bikes for us tho....Might add in a boat rental while we're there too. Playing that one by ear.

She is going to try to sign us up for Palo at the 90 day mark wich is May 6. I am hoping to do 3rd night 6pm. It does not seem like she wants to sign us up for Palo. They were not impressed. You are on the 4 n cruise, right? I think the deck party is a little later isn't it? More like 9:45 so that the late dinner seating gets to go too...but I'm guessing your MIL probably didn't want you to miss the special pirate menu that night maybe? We booked Palo at 90 days for night 2 at 8:00. CamColt's going on night 4 I think...We did not get to do Palo on our 7 n the last time so we're looking forward to it...

I am SUCH a planner and my MIL can't plan a day ahead ever...anything...ever! But so at least yours wants to do something. But I think she should let you guys have an opinion on some things! I'm sorry she's being such a control freak over you! That sucks. You will still have fun tho!

(I'm sure Cheri will get ahold of you about the FE's!)

I have Palo booked for DH and I on Tuesday the 22nd which I think is pirate night, but we should be done by the show

Bosses are gone for now but tatttletalers still walk by my office.

We are on the 4 day cruise. We have the 6pm dinner rotation

RonnieJo,
DS17 will turn 18 on July 26. Yes, lets get these boys together. He was never interested in going to ER. He wanted a full rounded university because he wants to try to double major in architecture also.

Annie,

I wanted to book Comfort Suites but DH says we still have PLUS passes to do at WDW for the waterparks.

2nd day at CC is up in the air with us also. MIL & FIL may not get off the boat. So DH and I will see what is going on the 1st day, then book it for 2nd day if available.

I guess I could go for Palo's 2nd choice for 3rd night 8pm seating but I would be rushed to eat 3 app, 4 entrees and 3 desserts, right? I don't want to go the 2nd night because I want to watch Toy Story with my 2 younger kids.

MIL is not a control freak. She just can't plan pass 3 hours from now. I am always starving and start planning for the next meal an hour after we just ate. She only eats like once a day and nibbles all day. I, too, am such a planner. I plan to do the most I can for the day!!

Back to work.

OK! It just sounded like like you were saying she wasn't letting you help do any of the planning. Guess I mis-understood what you said!:goodvibes

May- don't forget that you can always go to the early Toy Story show with your kids.

SE, correct me if I'm wrong, but if May's name is listed on her room, can't she just call DCL and get her reservation # and therefore make her own excursion/Palo reservations? Not trying to cause problems, but if there is something she really wants, she should be able to book it. Palo is worth it and better to try on line than not, yes?

May - for the FE's, can you let us know who you would like included? 2 adults and how many kids (and there gender and ages, please)

Cheri,

MIL paid for our trip. Can I call it in? I thought I had to book online. So if DCL asks me for any security money questions, I won't know it. Otherwise I would!! But she is 90 days. I am 75 days or does it not matter?

I sent you an email last night with my DCL Stateroom # with our names and kids ages. DS17 will be with MIL & FIL across the hall. I am not including MIL & FIL.

All 7 of us was planning to watch Toy Story as a Family thingy. Our dinner sitting will be at 6pm. MIL will not miss dinner table sitting. She made this trip to be with us together since ds17 will be off to college and doing his own thing.

MIL is quite nice. She just won't commit unless it really effects her or if she wants it badly. Not how much I want it badly. But she does get the toys the boys want for Cmas!!

Hey all just checking in!

Cheri - glad you had a great trip to Disneyland! Croutons too!:thumbsup2

Mom and Stepdad are here from So Cal been running around trying to find Mom something to wear to Granddaughters College Graduation. :headache: So far nothing on Gertrudes agenda has been accomplished but I guess that is OK.

DD is taking Grandparents to see "Horton Hears a Who" this afternoon. Stymie is headed to Bakersfield in a little while to spend the night. He has a meeting there tomorrow morning. Lucky guy.

Tomorrow....ugh. Grandparents want to take DD to look at saddles. Yep. Saddles. Then riding lessons in the afternoon (well thats up in the air as trainer had dentist appt today & has not confirmed with us yet) THEN the inlaws want to drive up for dinner to see Mom and Stepdad. OK they don't drive up here to see us....:rolleyes1 :rotfl: So tomorrow is right now looking like a nightmare. Just a lot to cram into one day and baby who does not care about shopping, saddles, or riding lessons.

Oh and I have a hair appointment at 9:30.:woohoo: Really need that to happen.:thumbsup2 And really really want to squeeze in a pedicure. :)

Ok enough whining here.

:yay: Who is packing!!!:woohoo:

:dance3:

Cheri - I hear Fishie is having a great time on his cruise!:thumbsup2
