That dress would be very pretty on you Anne :goodvibes

Yeah! manicure this morning and then lunch with Beano!

What's everyone doing this weekend?

shipcastaway2-1.jpg

I have a mani/pedi today too!!!

Rick is home with Kate today..no school

think we are going to get our passport pics done today

Annie, I took my computer to a local shop that I found that advertised hard drive recovery. Fortunately he was able to get several things off of mine (not everything though.) He pretty much went into my documents folder and recovered all of that for me. He got the pictures that were in that folder, but anything that wasn't didn't make it back to me.
Good luck!

Nero has a great back up software, and I also have a Norton back up as well. I try to back up as much as possible now. I don't back up frequently enough, so a crash would still have lost data, but not as bad as if I didn't back up at all.
It's really easy to do a complete back up.

Had a pedi yesterday (yay!) Temps here are going to be 80 today, but tomorrow we will be back in the 50's. Need to do some yardwork, but still have regular work to do. :surfweb:

Sue Ellen

Sue Ellen,
Go get the fan checked out on your computer. I had a lap top that did that. The fixer guy (official name) said that once the machines start doing that it is only a matter of time before they over heat immediately upon starting up. He was right in my case.

That is why I back up EVERYTHING every week. I just go into Windows Explorer and sort by date and move everything onto a thumb drive from the date of my last "back up". It doesn't take too long if you can remember what you worked on in between back ups. (When I do PTA stuff, I back up as soon as I'm done w/ the file.)

One thing I haven't figured out is how to back up our iTunes. We have a gazillion songs and it would be asful to lose it. I know Apple SOSMETIMES gives you one "reload" but T and I have two different accounts on one computer w/ hundreds of songs. If we made CDs of everything, that would be at least 40 CDs.

OK, good reminder for me to back up today.

I'm sorry you are having such a time, Annie. I'll be interested to see how you like Vista and how easy it is to learn. Scares me frankly.

Mom..I told you about this dress..it has a removable sheer jacket

Ooh, that would be pretty on you, Anne.

Sorry to hear about your dental problems. You had teeth yucks before our last cruise, yes? So glad there is no root canal though. (I would rather go thru child birth again before having another root canal. No joke.) Hope the dentist is nice and gentle.

ok, one last thing:
if anyone has anything for the web site (interesting web sites to visit, jokes, I don't know what) let me know. It's hopefully going up this weekend. Have to get the newest stars up!

Just have to say I agree about that dress! It's beautiful and I think being all loose & flowy it would have to be comfortable too... Anne, I think you should think about it!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

All this computer talk...:scared: So over my head.

Sorry to hear about the tooth Anne. Ouchie! Very pretty dress though. :thumbsup2

No going for mani/pedis here...I did those myself yesterday. ;) 80s??? Did I mention it is snowing here right now? ARGH!

Enjoy your lunch RJ& Beano! Anything good?

Tomorrow is DH and mine day out!:thumbsup2 We do this once a year and always do the same thing...what we did on our second date. ;) We start at noon at the Harp, a bar in Boston, then go to a Bruins game. Though now, we go home after the game to rest before heading out to dinner. We have reservations at a local place, that we have never been to, so Im excited to try it. Kids are spending the night at my parents. :cool1:

Aw, that sounds like a great tradition!

Other plans for the Peeps? T is home sick so we'll be laying low - and hoping he doesn't share the germies.

:rotfl: I don't bring my toes out until it's in the 80's here! So none of those trips to the salon for me yet...and w/o a coupon I will be doing my own too this year! Well, I will probably spurge and go get one just before vacation. Today has been 1 month since my layoff - no bites or nibbles from anything yet...so I am taking the bleak perspective and at this point am assuming I will be lucky to find work by July. Enjoy your date night!:thumbsup2 I'm betting we will have goat tonight!:lmao:

I hope to talk DH into going downtown EARLY tomorrow morning - it is supposed to be COLD (30's overnite but up to 50 in the afternoon). They said they're expecting 1 million people down there tomorrow!! It is the official start of the Cherry Blossom Festival - parade at 10:00. There is ALSO the Smithsonian Kite Festival starting on the mall at 10:00, the National Capital Marathon starts EARLY EARLY AND there's a walk for Epilepsy that starts at like 8:00 & that guy from Heroes is going to be there (Greg whatever - the guy who can hear peoples thoughts 'cuz one of his boys has it)!! Anyway, BUSY - but am hopeful for a good time!:thumbsup2

OK, where's May? It's been 2 days since we've heard from her. Did we scare her off or did she decide sleep was more important than us?!:confused3

The Feds have FINALLY made a ruling about passports (I just got an email update on it) :

Effective June 1, 2009, the following rules take effect for cruise passengers:

U.S. citizens on cruise voyages that begin and end at the same U.S. port (closed-loop itineraries) must show proof of citizenship* and government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). A passport will not be required for passengers that fall into this category.

*Documents include: Original or certified copy of birth certificate; Naturalization papers; Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by Department of State

All other passengers and/or itineraries (such as cruises which begin in one U.S. port and return to a different U.S. port or any cruise that begins or ends in a foreign port) will require a passport or other recognized document. For a list of accepted documents, see www.travel.state.gov.

The good news for a majority of cruise passengers – American citizens that leave and return on their cruise from the same U.S. port – is that the travel document requirements will remain largely unchanged from how the industry is operating today.

I personally will continue to renew my passport, but I'm so glad they have FINALLY committed to a final date and ruling on this.

Aw, that sounds like a great tradition!

Other plans for the Peeps? T is home sick so we'll be laying low - and hoping he doesn't share the germies.

Ugh! Hope everyone stays as helathy as you can.

When we first did this we though nothing of being in a bar drinking at noon....now we sort of laugh at ourselves. WHO do we think we are??? 22 year olds???

Annie, how can that have been a month??? Yikes time is flying!

I agree... a month? Wow. Hope something comes up soon. Out here spring is when things open up. :wizard: for you. And...

you are going someplace that is supposed to have a million poeple - and you're going there on purpose??? I know the place is big and wide open in spots, but a million people?

SE- Sail/Land=birth certificate -vs- Air=passport. You need a passport to re-enter the country after leaving. Well, let's be consistent. We leave the country when visiting Nassau or St. Maarten. We keep all 4 passports up to date. It's just dumb that there are two different standards. Oh I get it! It's like life :rotfl: (I'm still working on the whole "life isn't fair" thing :lmao: )

were were going to file for passports for Kate and Rick today (Nick and I have ours) but rick can't find his BC...guess I need to order that!

Wow y'all been busy since I left the house!!

ok, one last thing:
if anyone has anything for the web site (interesting web sites to visit, jokes, I don't know what) let me know. It's hopefully going up this weekend. Have to get the newest stars up!

I have a few - will email the links to you!!

Just have to say I agree about that dress! It's beautiful and I think being all loose & flowy it would have to be comfortable too... Anne, I think you should think about it!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I concur!

Enjoy your lunch RJ& Beano! Anything good?

Goat!!

Tomorrow is DH and mine day out!:thumbsup2 We do this once a year and always do the same thing...what we did on our second date.

Why!? What did you do on your first date!!??:confused3 :scared: ;)

Other plans for the Peeps? T is home sick so we'll be laying low - and hoping he doesn't share the germies.

OK I read this as homesick...then staying home. HHmmm says I where has T been? And isn't he a little old to be getting homesick??

Now I get it. Hope he feels better and that he keeps the germs to himself!

Well, I will probably spurge and go get one just before vacation. Me too!!
I'm betting we will have goat tonight!

:lmao:

they're expecting 1 million people down there tomorrow!!

Um...1 million people!? I would have settled for the half open blossoms and the warmer weather you had last week rather that be anywhere with 1 million people...

The Feds have FINALLY made a ruling about passports.

Oh great - we just received the girls' birth certificates back. Passports approved and will follow under separate post. Why don't they just send it all back at the same time? Why they have to waste my money like that??:confused3

Just ordered Rick's BC...

maybe he won't cruise...can I have a VR with a proxy??

some people are reporting a 2 week turn around. And now that the gov't has again postponed the passport regulation, more people will let it go and not file (until 2 weeks 'til they have to leave the country). Tell Rick he isn't getting out of this. Nice try. but um no:laughing:

Why!? What did you do on your first date!!??:confused3 :scared: ;)

:lmao: Not much. It snowed out, bad, so we just went to dinner at the restaurant he worked at, which happened to be up the street from my house. He had them keep it open just for us. ;) This didnt start out as a "repeat the second date" thing. Just that we get 1 game without the kids each year, so we have sort of conveniently made it an afternoon game so we get the whole day out, and then we ended up doing the same stuff. Drinking, hockey, and dinner...what more can you want? ;)

So this has me thinking. How did all you guys meet your SOs? I always love stories like those.
