earthatnight.jpg

the earth at night from a sattelite. Man you folks on the east coast sure use a lot of electricity.

WOW! Betsy! Looks great! :thumbsup2

CamColt....ya been quiet today....ya done packin' yet? Hope you have a GREAT time! Very jealous (rain or no rain)!:goodvibes

Now TRM has disappeared....what's up with ya'll - you takin' turns with the disappearing act?!

OK, how about a little humor:

An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building." The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too." The blonde opened his lunch and said, "Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too."

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too. The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well.

At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"

The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much."

(Oh this is GOOD!!)

Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The blonde's wife said, "Don't look at me. He makes his own lunch"

OK, so just out of curiosity (tax refund not filed let alone received yet burning hole in pocket)...checked the availability of the 4 "secret verandah" cabins on the 3 n. cruise...ALL STILL THERE! Is it an OMEN? :confused3 The Cat. 7's HAVE gone up a couple hundred dollars since we first booked them...sigh. But so, by my fancy math calculations:teacher: if I follow what ya'll over there at DU do I THINK that with the increase in credit for going up in categories (and if I figure out the one-way xfers to the airport, blah, blah, blah I think it would end up being ABOUT $526.21 more to upgrade cabins on the 2nd cruise from the "SPH" cat 10 to the "SV" cat 7. (Would've only been a little over $400 to have done it in the beginning...but I didn't.) Who thinks I should just drop it NOW LeeAnn and don't EVEN ask DH?! Stay put...don't pack - leave it A-L-O-N-E?! OK, now, show of hands for who thinks I should see what DH thinks about it and have our good friends at DU double check my math for me??

Which side of the ship is best at CC? (right or left... ummm...rephrase...starboard or port?!)

I prefer starboard. Too bad you can't see how many cat 3's are left (Katie? Sue Ellen?) That might really tell us how empty the ship is. sorry, I don't know how much you would be gaining by moving from a 10 to a 7. Personally, I have to have a door I can open - no likey a closed in feeling (truth be told I don't even like walking down the hallways - yeah, I'm that bad)

Wow, Betsy!! You look awesome! Love the dress too.

SE, I hear ya! We used to get a nice refund every year. The first year I did this job, it went down some, last year we pretty much broke even, this year we owe! This is 1 huge downfall of this job.

That Palo picture reminded me...did someone suggest we do a Palo brunch as a group? I thought I had seen that somewhere along the way. If so, defintiely count DH and I in! That is something we havent done yet and are hoping to do. Anyone know when it is on the 4 day?

About 90% packed for all 3 of us. Just trying to tie up loose ends with clients now and the rest I can do tomorrow...with 1 more run to CVS, 2 loads of laundry, etc...

I am not understanding this term. (Isn't it an oxymoron??)

I wouldn't worry. Just another glass or 2 of chardonnay and you can stumble down the hallways instead.

Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them,
'I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent.'
'Thank God,' said an elderly nun at the back. 'I'm so tired of chardonnay.'

I thought that you would like that one...

Just wistful thinking about being able to open the door to the outside on my part... While I was making dinner the memory of those 2 really super expensive excursions we want to do came to my mind...like smelling salts.:goodvibes

TZM - can you tell me about this - claiming the property tax paid on our DVC...do we put it on the "Real Estate Tax on Additional Homes or Land" line of the Property Tax Section?

Registering for 6th grade / middle school this week...parental meeting at the school tomorrow nite...must decide on elective (continue with band or take an arts rotational thing where they will rotate thru 4 of 6 possibilities...) :headache: I really hate to see him give up on band just yet....but we think he would like some of these other subjects...sucks they can't select WHICH 4 they want! There's a "high tech music" course, Family & Consumer Science (Home Ec), Imagineering Technology, Computer Applications, TV Studio and General Art. He would really like the computers, the imagineering and the tv studio. OUR luck he'll get the Home Ec and general art. I don't like that they're forced to possibly give up on band so early! We really haven't discussed all the options as he "forgot" to bring home his packet.:sad2: It's due on Thurs. We also have swimming tomorrow, a Pack meeting on Wed and then doctor and swimming again on Thurs.

TRM still missing....RJ quiet....Betsy quiet....Cheri quiet....Ophie ?....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have to tell you that I don't know the exact line. I use Tax software to file and I just answer the questionairre. I think that is where it goes. I know that it goes in because I add it in every year. I have 4 memberships to add up and I know that I do it every time.

Annie- I remember my mom going to register me for junior high (that's what we called it) I was sooooo intent on taking French (because it would be so ... useful in Orange County? :rotfl2: ) but she signed me up to continue with the orchestra. I can't thank her enough. My music education has helped me more than I can say. It's cool that now I can help T and Cas with their instruments (and I'm talkin' guitar and recorder here. I KNOW how some of yo PEEPS think! Sheesh!:sad2: )

So, they make a list of 4 and then the school computer "selects" for them? I think I'd be playing helicopter mom and visiting the counselor to make sure he got music - if you and he decide that is what you want. I am NOT an advocate of fighting your kids battles or denying them a chance to discover something new they may like. BUT! It has been proven that kids who study music have higher math abilities and reading abilities. There is something about the brain synapses (sp?) that are formed that help.

OK, can I be any more of a science geek? (don't answer that)

blah blah blah taxes...blah blah blah

Bets - you look awesome! Congratulations!

CamColt - have a great time!!

Webelo ... that's a funny word.:lmao:

Yes we must to Palo Brunch on 4 day cruise. DHs too? hhmmm....OK.

Cheri - the new link worked for me. Me likey those sign designs. We are a clever group aren't we.

Saw friends daughter today - she is still wanting to cruise as our nanny. Trying to convince her mom to send her.:rotfl:

Girl Scout cookies come in this week. Lord give me strength...:rotfl: Who am I kidding. I will eat them all and love every minute of it. My diet starts Monday.:rotfl2: :lmao:

Why is it when you head off to beeg Macy's sale to buy summer clothes and you start in kids department - load up and head up to womans department - the kids are done shopping...."I'm tired" "I'm hungry" "let's go home":headache:  BRATS! I ended the day with a nice new fuzzy blanket for my bed and no clothes.:headache: But it is really fuzzy.....:lovestruc

:lmao: webelo:rotfl2:

Annie - found a goat store nearby! Its in San Ramon. About 35 - 40 minutes from here with no traffic. So when you come visit I can take you there.:thumbsup2

Everyone have a great evening.

Webelo...:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

TRM! She's back! I am so-o-o glad that the word Webelo makes your day for you!!:rotfl: (It IS sort of a funny word.) So YAY! You'll take me for goat when visit CA again!:rotfl2:

Cheri - I am just really bummed that we have to make this choice for just one elective. There's a meeting at the middle school tonight...I want to find out if he sticks with the clarinet thru 6th grade can he have this chance for this "arts rotation" in 7th grade. He does very well with the clarinet - and I was impressed with how big and how good the 6th grade band was when we went to this last concert...and I hate that we've been paying $31 / mo. RENT on this thing for 2 years and ALMOST own it now! DH is the one who wants to push the other stuff. Yes, it sucks that who knows how the 4 out of 6 subjects are picked. Each subject goes for 9 weeks. When I was in junior high we had 7 periods per day so we got 2 electives - so taking band was never a problem. I think "study hall" counted as one too tho!!!!:lmao:

Katie and / or SueEllen - I briefly (in passing last nite just before bed) mentioned something to DH about upgrading to a "secret verandah" cabin on the 3 n. He was just like "are you going to drive me crazy about it"?!:rolleyes1 Hummmmmm. Maybe! :rotfl2: I can't believe first of all that all 4 are still there at 5 months to go and that at this point with as empty as the ship seems to be that they're raising the prices at all. :confused3 ANYWAY - I AM interested in upgrading to one of those rooms IF DCL ever does a "fire sale" now that we're getting a tad bit closer. I would be especially interested in the starboard one on deck 6 first (#6634) then 2nd choice would be the other deck 6 one....and so on (back to starboard). But only if we find any "deals" floating around out there! On one hand I tell myself to shut up and save the money for the dolphins. And on the other I picture sitting out there with a captain and a breeze for a few minutes. Last time we ended up in a Cat 6 with the solid wall verandah - not nearly as nice IMO since you have to stand up to see. ANYWAY, just keep me in mind should any "clearance sales", come up!!:goodvibes

Better get to work!

Katie - have a great trip!!:wizard:

:rolleyes1 Speaking of Palo brunch:

could someone please pass the Boursin! :woohoo:

Yummy!!

Morning everyone!!

Annie? what is this upgrading you speak of?? Secret Verandah room?? These would be in which category?? I am guessing those of us that decided after way toooooo long to add another family member and now number 4 are out of luck yes?? I think I have to go all the way to category 6 for a verandah.

Anyhow, just online verifying Volvo service appointment. Gotta get running to get Ryan to school. Hope I get a cool loaner car today!!:woohoo:

  Yay for empty ship BTW!!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I will be signing off shortly (OMGOMGOMG!).

Those Palo pics....Ohhh, Im hungry!

Cam had to pick whether he takes French or Spanish in middle school. I had to fight with him to sign up for Spanish. Why he wanted French is beyond me, but I cant help him with that at all. I told him how when we were in Mazatlan, I knew which bathroom to use because it said Damas and I had learned that in Spanish class....see Spanish is very important. :lmao:

Ok, have a great week, my peeps! Get CA warmed up for me, those of you out there. :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:
