TZM - tell Ophie we got our Jump Rope for Heart packet yesterday...DS jumps on the 29th...guess I'll bring the form into the office & leave it down in the kitchen for a few days to see if I can get anyone to sign up for support. (We're not allowed to directly solicit according to the employee handbook. Well, the owners daughter sold her girl scout cookies cube to cube...but then she's the owners daughter...and the owner brings her dogs...so rules are only rules if you "just work here"!:goodvibes )

TRM - Thanks - will check out that link later (as I'm sneaking on here right now)! Must find time to talk to DH about this crap!:goodvibes

RJ - glad Bob was home! Was your oven on a recall list or something? Hope no damage other than to dinner!!

Where's Cheri this week - another one MIA!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

RJ! Didn't you just have work done on that oven??
Me thinks it is time to toss it out!! and since your kitchen doesnt fit a regular oven...must REMODEL KITCHEN!!!

LOL!! Or not, and go on a cruise!

forgot to buy valentines for DD to take to school...she didn't say anything about it...i am a bad mommy!!

There was some grease on the bottom of the oven that I forgot to clean up. The grease is what caught on fire...had I thought quick enough, I would have tossed baking soda on it instead of the fire extinguisher. :confused3

I hope that we don't need a new oven....this one is only a few months old! :headache:

:lovestruc Happy Valentine's Day!:lovestruc

Rick says you could have turned the oven off and shut the door...fire needs air and if the door is closed..it will burn itself out with no O2 to feed it

they get oven fires just about every week..especially during the holidays when people who usually don't cook try to..:P

I know....I know :rolleyes1

Does he know if I can still use the oven??

i will ask him, but the extinguisher might have killed it

Happy Valentines Day to someone!!!

I aint sayin who..Im just sayin!!:rolleyes1

appliance guy just left.............

the oven lives!!:woohoo:

He said we actually did a really good job cleaning it up. Although he suggested I put it on self-cleaning mode, but that SO freaks me out! 3 hours @ 900 degrees  ....that just doesn't seem right.

i self clean my oven when it is cold..like today..so it makes the house toasty!

living in Florida..the oven doesn't get cleaned much!! LOL!

:yay: Good! Glad it's OK! I know what you mean about that hot oven cleaning thing...I've never cleaned mine 'cuz that idea sounds nuts! (But I also don't use it for much more than chicken nuggets and the occasional meatloaf or lasagne!:rotfl: ) Mine is ready for me to do it tho.... Yeah...it's only been 8 years!:lmao: (Can you say ewwwww?!) I keep a piece of foil in the bottom which can be thrown away & replaced if something runs over...my mess seems to mostly just be on the door. It's all nasty looking.:rolleyes1

OK, so I saw a post on another thread about booking the dolphin thingy in Nassau thru a place called shoretrips.com. So I peeked at the site for a couple minutes...they offer some of the same exact stuff as DCL - for a few dollars MORE even on some! Like the Blackbeards Stingray thing was about $5 more pp or something! Who'd have thunk?!:confused3 They do offer an actual dolphin SWIM in addition to the dolphin ENCOUNTER too - dunno if it's worth the price difference. :confused3 Anyway, but so I DID see something else on this website that I thought might be kinda cool that I will just throw out there to see if anybody else is interested in this idea. We like to snorkel & will probably plan at least one snorkel excurision somewhere. Anyway, you can charter a catamaran for a private 3 1/2 hour snorkel trip!! You can charter it for up to 25 ppl or for up to 50 ppl!!! The price for the 25 ppl one is $2,096 - so if we scraped together 25 of us it's about $25 more than booking a reg. excursion but how cool would that be if it was just a peeps trip?! They can depart at either 9:15 or 1:15 (we have ashore at 8:30 and onboard at 7:00 in Nassau). Does anybody else snorkel?!

Like I said, I'm just tossing the idea out there to see if I get any bites!:goodvibes

Yikes! Fires, tornados, frozen peeps! This is getting dangerous! Glad everyone is ok.

Welcome back, Johnna! Thanks for the advice. Sounds great!

Annie...Im so confused. I think I gotta get through next week before I even look into this.

My kids did the Jump rope thing too...Cam yesterday and Colt today.

Ok, back to work. :headache:

You know I have been working on geneaology....what is your maiden name again!?:rotfl: Where do y'all come from??

Virginny right? Maybe not then. I have mostly PA and NJ on mom's side and OH on dad's side.

:rotfl2: WEST Virginny, Thank You Very Much! I think you must be my 2nd cousin from Bakersfield!! Are you sure you don't have a brother named Eddie?!

ACTUALLY, they have done a lot of research on my Mom's side (I guess it's my Maternal Grandfather's family). WAAAAYYY back in the 8th Century they were Norse settlers who somehow ended up in Cumbria, England. The name was originally "Lauthra-a" but at some point it was changed to "Lowther". There's a family crest, an old falling down family castle (I think it's officially called a ruin now) and a Lowther Church that was built in like 1175 by the Normans or something. One of my Aunts went to England and visited the castle (I have a picture - it's pretty cool). I remember reading something in it too about also being a descendent of Anne Hathaway or something - she was from like the 1600's maybe? The family tree is enormous and now that it's completed back that far they maintain it with updates every year at the family reunion. Somebody updates it with all of the deaths, births, marriages etc.:thumbsup2

My Dad's side are mutts from Germany I think!:rotfl2: Actually, I have something about some of them somewhere but nothing so extensive. They don't do family reunions or anything. I think my Paternal Grandfather's family is also probably from England and my Paternal Grandmother's side is German. My Maternal Grandmother's family is Irish I think. It's only the one Maternal side that has done the whole family tree thing...they have a family reunion every summer, the last weekend in June. It's like scheduled. The only thing that varies is the past like 3 years it's been in a different place.:goodvibes

People who have done the Comfort Suites thing use this link:

http://www.smartertravel.com/hotel/mb.php?id=1417

to book out for a better rate?? Most people say they do this without incident and the 2 night minimum is a seasonal thing or at least a "depends on who answers the phone" thing.

I will keep you posted for a travel zoo special. The last one I got was for spring but you never know...maybe one will show up.

OK - so I just tried to check it thru this link and it says 2 night min. for that date... I am not familiar with TravelZoo....I may check directly thru Comfort Suites site again.....but DS has swimming tonight (skipping the den meeting).....then Survivor when we get home......so probably not happening tonight! Still got 5 months. We should be OK, right?!:rotfl2:

Got my first "wife" valentine card and beeg box of Godiva!! Aww!! silly DH!!

he wasn't suppose to get anything because we think VD is too commercial...bad bad DH!!

He did come home to a steak and scallop dinner, so he was happy too!
