SueEllen!! Scarlet Fever and MRI's?! You must find a new doc for Trevor!! Has he been in the hospital? How / where did he get it? And ummm...MRI? Please keep us posted on that one! Have you been having headaches / migranes?!

Well, DS & I got our hairs cut for ya'll....DH doesn't really have any hair. He pretty much shaves it himself - but I have to bring his clippers. Went to Borders after haircuts - DS has to read 2 books over the summer & write a summary - one fiction & one non-fiction. The fiction is not a problem, he has one he's almost done with...finding a NON-fiction took some time. Almost all of the biographies in the children's section were too easy for him - and there was one on Walt Disney! But so-o below his reading level. But we finally found one (Marley - A dog like no other) & I got a paperback to bring too (an old John Grisham). Couldn't tell ya the last time I took time to read a book. Probably a couple years ago. Well, I have one I've read on & off for about 6 or 7 months and still haven't finished. I think it's not captivating enough. John Grisham is an easy read for me - I should be able to finish this one.

OMG--I'm exhausted and cannot take much more of this.

We think Trevor picked up the scarlet fever from one of the boys on his T-Ball team--who we didn't know had Strep (until after the fact.) The boys always end up drinking someone else's drink at the games (never fails) so I'm guessing that's what happened.
So a couple of days ago he gets a small rash starting on his neck and back/side. Looked a bit odd so I watched it. Within 24 hours he was COVERED all over his back, stomach, neck, etc. It spread like wildfire. Took him to the MD right way. Got the diagnosis, and a Strep test, and sent out with nothing--told to give him Benedryl for itching, Motrin for sore throat and liquids. Sigh...
So yesterday his throat was getting worse and rash is awful.
Today he's miserable. Headache, muscle aches, itch, sore throat, everything--you name it. MD said just wait it out. I think they are quacks. I'm going to take him tomorrow to an urgent care center and see if they will at least get the antibiotic in him...Scarlet Fever isn't something to fool around with. I'm FURIOUS.

Me....let's just say yesterday wasn't fun with the MRI--it was two hours of HELL! I've been having strange dizziness, confusion, light headedness, and then these headaches have started that are worse than any migrane I have ever had. They come on suddenly (all on the same side of my head) and won't go away or feel better no matter what I take. It makes me want to just lay down and cry. I have had no relief and they hit many times a day. I'm taking another steriod to try to help with it and had the MRI yesterday. May have to do a Neuro consult when we get back, but I'm hoping some time away will be good for me and these will eventually go away.

I've had enough crap to last forever, and I just want Trevor to get better. I cannot stand to see him feeling this bad and I cannot make it better. It's hard to explain that one to him. I swear someone is going to do something tomorrow or I'm going to flip out and go postal on someone. An upset angry Mom isn't a good thing.

Sorry to be such a downer--especially when we are so close to our trip. I'm trying to find a happy place.
I haven't even been able to look around for everything we need to get ready to pack. Sigh....

OMG! that sounds almost exactly like what is going on. They are sudden, and beyond intense and the pain is almost undescribeable. It's terrible.
The last 24 hours has been just slightly better (not sure if it's the steriods or what) but whatever it takes to make them go away I'm all for it. I've never quite had this kind of pain. Makes it almost impossible to concentrate or do any work (which is not a good thing.)

I'm more worried about Trevor right now though than this. I just want to make him better

At this rate I'll never be ready for the cruise--hey RJ--I have something here for your son--I'll bring it with me on the trip because I forgot to mail it out (naturally!)

Prayers and pixie dust from the Big D to you and your whole family!!! After the cruise, go see a chiro who is a kineseologist also. Or do you know an accupuncturist? Definitely see a neuro but I'd go see a kinese or an accup also. My spelling is off tonight.

Ophie, Bets would match that sock monkey cake. Is this another VR theme?

Well, my cruise clothes are stacked on the dining room table!! I just have to try them all on to make sure they look good together. Hopefully I won't need to do any sewing adjustments.

I'm also packed for camping. I just have to buy the right kind of sunscreen. My sister sent me a link that xxxxbenzone or xxxbentene does not block the sun and both chemicals cause skin cancer. I have to find Blue Lizard brand. I am sick of using products that is suppose to helpful then it turns out to be cancerous if continuous use.

SE, I hope everything gets better for you. How horrible!

I've joined the ranks of the injured now too. Nothing as bad as it could be (I keep thinking of last year), but I was out running today and had a little pain in the back of my leg (hamstring, I guess???). I figured Id run it off, no biggie, but it got worse to the point I had to walk (I never give up when running). Even walking killed. so, Im sitting here now icing it and I didnt even get a work out in. ARGH!!! I cant not exercise this week.

CamColt - STAY OFF YOUR LEG!!!!!! From now on, you must stop your running the week before WDW!!

SE - I had a series of these Cluster headaches wa-a-y back when I was in my 20's (but none since) and we a good friend who's been dealing with some Cluster headaches for about the past month now. He's been to the ER a couple of times this round & is taking steroids - says that's the only thing that will stop them. When I had them the neurologist put me on a strong anti-depressant to put me to sleep 'cuz I was getting them during the night. Our friend says he gets a series of them about once every 5 years but steroids are working well for him. The important thing with Cluster headaches is to break the cycle. He has found that he has triggers...pepparoni and alcohol are his. Specificially he ate pizza almost daily and was a Tangueray & Tonic man and he's found it to be the gin!! He was able to have a couple of beers the other day and was OK. But can no longer drink the gin. He says it guarantees he will get a headache! Weird 'eh?! Anyway, I hope your MD gets you all figured out and sends you on vaca with the right drugs! Do you need a note or something to bring for the MD on the ship?? And certainly we wish Trevor a speedy recovery! The poor baby! I am so sorry! Do you know what the run time is for Scarlet Fever?! Give him hugs from the peeps!

I am going to try to start packing today....

DH came downstairs today dressed for casual Friday and I looked at his shirt and said "Oh - I was going to pack that for WDW." So he says OK and went up to change. He came back down in ANOTHER shirt I was going to pack! So I said I was going to take that one too and he looks down at himself then back at me and says "I guess you'll have to do laundry then 'cuz I'm not changing again"!

I have not ironed OR started packing yet. I KNOW I said I was going to...but first I had 1 more door sign to do...and I am STUCK on this STOOPID photoshop! It's not letting me resize the thing that I want to reduce. I need Mr. Annie's help! I only had 1 or 2 more to do then I would be done with the darned things. I wanted to go to Staples on Monday to get them laminated so I could put the magnets on them!

Back at my OLD job (2 jobs ago - the one where I worked for 18 yrs) we used to have "secret code" for going outside to smoke (back in the day)! "The eagle has landed." You just reminded me of that!

Morning ya'll!!! WEEK from now we'll all be in FLA!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it's finally almost here and then it will be over in a beeg WHOOSH and then I will have no tickers! RJ - my nails don't amount to much but I thought of you 'cuz I have lost my index finger one on my right hand and probably the one on my left hand too...it's getting a crack along the side....dunno if I'll get a manicure next week or just a pedicure now.

CamColt - we really are painting a LOVELY picture of ourselves here arent' we?! I want to try to get just a leetle bit of sun today so I can wash up my last bathing suit to pack (it's the itty bittiest one to keep the tan lines to a minimum)! It shows off ALL of my flaws! But if you can get past the idea that it's ME wearing it at the ripe old age of ___ it's a really, really cute suit! It is the only string bikini I've ever owned but it has DIS green & pink all over it and does wonders for the tan lines! Well, the top is string, the bottoms aren't...does that qualify?

OK, no swimming today...but there IS a "Relay Carnival" tomorrow AM at 8:00. DH helped me get thru my photoshop crisis then I ran out of color ink last night trying to print the final copies of the door signs (I figured out a setting in PSE that makes them print better so I wanted to re-print some). I had a spare cartridge so I changed the ink but the printer keeps screwing up whenever we do that. It won't align the cartridge & it just sits there making this horrid noise until you get a "scanner failure" message! Turning it off & back on doesn't help either. DH says we should just buy a new printer. I just want to get those finished already!

I had the weirdest nightmare last night. Not vaca related...just very graphic & weird. Whoever watches LOST you know that tall guy from the freighter who killed Ben's daughter? He was in it & we were at my parents house in WV and he was "sent" by I don't know who to execute me by chopping me in half in my parents dining room!! It was very, very, VERY bloody and graphic and very, very weird and just EWWW! Nice way to wake up at 3:00 am.
