DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

yay!! You have started

That sounds scary about them yelling Everybody Freeze. That would have freaked me out. Glad it ended up being nothing

Yay to pilot for making good time.

Hotel looked nice. Shame not good view of fireworks though.

How cool to get serendaed by Dapper Dans. Love pics of you guys and them...

Great pics of flowers

WOW...you get soaking wet on Pirates? That is nothing like ours. Really curious to see the difference :scared1:

Nice photo of the carriage! I had never noticed the harnesses for a possible "ghost horse" before that! Love the mailbox too.

20 mins is a long time for HM. In the summer when we thought it was pretty busy, the most we waited was 5 minutes.

I hate getting wet on rides too! Never stops me from going on them though, lol.

I'm not sure I had noticed the harness before this trip either.....but I tried to get a pic.....shadows made it hard to get.....but you recognized what it was....so I guess it works.......lol!!!

The lines were nuts!!

Getting wet sometimes stops me from going on the rides.....I have to be in the mood...... :rotfl:

I hate the wet butt too. That just totally stinks.

It does.....hate running around with wet jeans....makes me cold!

The airport thing freaked me out & I was glad Ty was there to keep me focused & calm......if I had been alone, it could have been bad......I was on the brink a few times this trip for a panic attack....but I was able to keep it in check (usually by just leaving the parks because of the crowds)

The motel was ok......but I liked the HoJo & the Carousel better. We only tried to see the fireworks once from our room....so it wasn't a high sell for the room for me.

You don't get soaking wet on POTC....but there's always a little water & spray from the drops & then people step on the seats with their wet shoes & sometimes you do get a little water in from the drops on the seats. Everytime I ride this, I get wet & cold.....ugh!!

Main Street was pretty busy for 10:30am on a Thursday.....I should have taken this as a warning for what the weekend would hold!!

 It was the highlight of my trip to finally meet you in person!!! When you talk with someone for 4 yrs online....its great to finally get to spend some time with them!!!! :woohoo:

Enjoying your report :thumbsup2 That is cool you were able to get aerial shots of Disney from the plane. Last time we flew into SNA my son pointed it out from the plane but I missed it:sad1:

Thanx!! I usually miss it too because I'm seated on the wrong side of the plane......then the pilot didn't announce it....but I was on the look out & luckily saw it!!

How is it flying into SNA? Is it better than LAX?

I am looking into it, cause if there is any way I can save money, I'm gonna do it. There didn't seem to be much difference in price when I checked for either one (I'm looking at Oct pricing for now, just to get an idea. Feb/March 2013 isn't up yet) but if SNA is easier to get to DL from, then maybe I will choose that one. Although some of the flight companies I would normally choose, might not got there. Like WestJet. I will have to do some looking!

We always fly into Orange County....there's no way I'd fly into LAX :scared1: I'd be freaked out by that place!!

Orange County is about 20 mins drive away.....really close!! We took the cab from the Ramada to SNA during 5pm traffic & still got there within 20 mins. If you have any way to fly into this one....I'd highly recommend it. Small airport, just a few minutes walk from your gate to the baggage claim & the transportation area.

I'll look into it. The thought of LAX by myself scares me! :scared1: Actually flying in general by myself scares me a little, but I can do it if it means going to DL!

Was able to make it as far as Jan 2013. My preferred company DOES fly there, and it's going to be about $600 if prices stay the same. Not sure if that is a good or bad price.

Thanks for the info on SNA! Sorry for kind of hijacking your TR.

:yay: Woo Hoo....that's good news....it's so much easier flying into the smaller airport (and it's closer)!!

No worries......I love answering questions from my reports if I can!!

Ok, phewf! I don't want to be over stepping anything. But I am glad you can answer my questions. :goodvibes I may have more in the future, lol.

Great start, Laurie! I have seen the ghost horse harness at the WDW HM but never noticed a mailbox ... I will be on the look out in August!

When we flew to DL, we flew into Long Beach Airport ... that one is super small and really nice to navigate as well! I would never fly into LAX!

Thanx Vicki!! I've heard the Long Beach Airport is nice & small too....but I still think the Orange Cty one is closest......but can't say for sure. When it comes to flying I like to know what to expect....so chances are I won't be changing airports anytime soon!! :rotfl:

After our ride on POTC, we decided it was time to eat.....we got up at 4am but didn't ever have any breakfast. We headed straight to the new Jolly Holiday to get lunch. They actually have a queing line.....lol We probably were in line for 30 minutes before reaching the counter........I took advantage of our wait time to get pictures of everything I could. Mary Poppins is the inspiration for this new bakery/restaurant. The little touches in the light fixtures, wood work, windows & display cases were beautiful!

Amazing light fixtures throughout the restaurant:

This was our lunch order:

Tyler got the Jolly Holiday Combo (Toasted Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup).

101.jpg

I had the Caprese Sandwich (Tomato & Mozzarella) with house chips (kettle).

100-1.jpg

We both got the Practically Perfect Punch. I'd say it was lemonade with either a berry or cherry kicker....couldn't pinpoint exactly but the lemonade tended to be the flavor you got.

102-1.jpg

Ty & shared our meals & both were delicious!!! The soup was so good with a nice basil touch. The grilled cheese was a tasty compliment for the soup!! The caprese sandwich was on focaccia bread with a basil vinaigrette. I think they went a bit heavy on the vinaigrette....but it was so good....I was able to forgive them!! lol

With the Carnation Cafe being closed for the remodel, I was wondering what would happen to Oscar. I know his wife had been ill, but I was afraid he might retire.....so I'm very happy to report that Oscar is out front greeting guests, taking pictures, just sharing his love of Disneyland & food with anyone that will stop & talk with him. He does plan on going back to the Carnation Cafe when it re-opens....so yay!!

As we are heading out of the seating area:

Ty & I ran over to the castle to get a picture done before I headed back to the motel to get ready for Meet-n-Greet.....I had an entire suitcase filled with party stuff I needed to take over to the Carousel Inn.

Laurie, I am loving your reports! I have read 3 of them this morning! It's kind of funny because every time I see a pic of Mike, I think to myself..."there's my Safeway guy!" We will have to meet up one of these days after things settle down for you a bit and have coffee and some Disney talk:) The Jolly Holiday looks like a fun place with great food- those strawberry lemon cupcakes look yummy! So glad that you got to chat with Oscar too- I hope we see him when we are there in a few weeks! Really enjoying your photos and can't wait to read more:)

I said goodbye to Ty & headed out of the parks & to the Ramada Inn. I gathered all the meet-n-greet items & headed towards the Carousel Inn. I got up to the room, to find I was the first to arrive. It was nice & cool, so I sat & waited for the rest of the committee to show up. Jen came in shortly after I did & then the rest of the committee started coming in with all the food & decorations. We got a huge delivery of snacks from the ladies staying at the Grand Californian.....it filled up a luggage rack.....I mean it REALLY FILLED UP A LUGGAGE RACK!!! lol So this was the start of the snack table.

I pretty much figured we had most of the goodies....there was a ton of stuff already & a good variety!!

As I was working on the table....the rest of the room was taking shape. We did find out that one of the boxes of decorations never made it to one of our committee members.....so no candelabras! (but I think it looked amazing anyways)

The Carousel Inn placed this sign outside the room....so we'd keep motel guests from joining in.
