DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

Al!!! I love Al from Princess and the Frog!! He is a great character.

The Columbia is amazing, I always enjoy riding both it and the Mark Twain. To me it is a great way to catch a bit of respite from the craziness of the crowds.

Ahhhhh, finally got caught up!! I leave for a bit and jeesh...!!!
As always great pictures. I found it interesting that both you and Ty love lightfixtures:lmao:
Till next time...

Tyler appreciates all the little details that Disney puts into every nook & cranny......just like his mom & dad!!

That ship is so cool. Such great detail went into that

Love all your pics

Love the Scuttlebutt one....easily amused

They really went all out in making this full scale replica on the Columbia Rediviva. I went and got more info off of Wikipedia because I didn't hear all the history & facts when riding it.

It replicates the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe. It was also the first 3 masted windjammer to be built in America in over 100 yrs (that was in 1958). It has one working cannon towards the front of the ship that they still fire off during each voyage.....the other cannons are replicas.

We've done the Mark Twain many times....not sure why I hadn't ever stepped foot on the Columbia?? :confused3 Mike & his mom went on it to check out the museum in 2010 but I never got to it.

Scotty was like a little kid on it in 2010. He had to look at everything. I had my hands full with a moody 17 year old.:scared1:

I'm sure Mike and his mom where that way too......Mike's mom's idea of a vacation was always historical......she'd take Mike & the boys on learning trips....I'd opt out & stay home. To me a vacation is going & doing something fun!!

My mom tries to do that with us. She does the "oh I will gladly pay for it...." Then she wants me to drive to San Francisco or Sacramento where I have to do the driving and I never enjoy it. I always come home a nervous wreck.

Yeah, traveling with parents/inlaws just isn't relaxing........I totally understand!!

I love the pictures!! I especially love Al from the Princess and the Frog.

Me too......

PS: It's Louis :goodvibes

Another great update! I agree about the ships. For YEARS we would go and only hit rides and then only certain rides but now that I have gotten older and esp when we are able to go on longer trips the girls and I make a point of trying to see and do things we haven't done. I finally went to Pirate's Lair back when it was still Tom Sawyer Island a few years back and we did the canoes finally. We LOVE the ships but like you hadn't done them till recently.

I think it is fun when you have the time to explore things that on a busier trip you would probably skip.

Thanx Kelly!! I find the Mark Twain a great way to take a break, so we do that one pretty regularly......but not the Columbia. Glad we did it.

I've been to the island, but it's not something I care if I do again and there's no way I'm getting in one of those canoes!!

I'm trying to think of other things I've not done yet......Astro Orbitors, Innoventions (never been inside that building.....ever) and the Nemo subs. I think that's it for Disneyland.

When Tyler & I got off the Columbia, we headed to Main Street. Ty was craving a corn dog, so we got in line at the Little Red Wagon and then found some shaded seating at the Plaza Inn.

When we were done, we headed to the Disney Gallery. Ty had spotted something he thought I'd be interested in. We go in & in their vault is a mini railroad car. I get closer & realize its an actual train car from Walt Disney's backyard train set.

When we were still looking around the gallery, we heard the last call for the Great Moments with Mr Lincoln show, so we headed that way. It's so sad....I've seen this show twice and there's never more than a dozen people in there.....it's so patriot & moving (at least to me it is). If you haven't taken the time to see this show.....please do....it's only a few minutes out of your day and really well done.

After the Lincoln show, we step outside & the Disneyland Strawhatters are just starting to play, so we go & watch and listen.

Minnie departs & leaves Mickey wanting her.........

Such great photos of Mickey and Minnie! I have yet to really see them outside of their houses, parades and character meals. It would be fun to see them interacting like that.

How cool was that train piece from Walts collection!

With Minnie leaving, the band invites Mickey to direct them.

I send Michelle a text to try & figure out if she's planning on coming back to the parks.......she fell asleep....a deep sleep!! She was glad I had sent her the text....she'd be over in a bit. We told her we'd hang out on Main Street for her.

I notice Pinocchio & Geppetto setting up for a meet-n-greet....so Ty & I head over.

While waiting our turn, we get pictures of the flowers, flag pole with dedication plaque, City Hall and more flowers!!

I find the afternoons are a great time to see the extra performances (especially weekends). I like to hang on out Main Street by the Flag Pole for a bit.....so much going on.....lots of characters coming out, different bands, people watching, etc. I find doing this as much fun as an attraction!! Especially when you can get a few really good photos in!!

The train car was so awesome to see......I'd love to get out to Carolwood Museum one of these trips to see more of the train memorabilia. Here's the link to their website for anyone interested in learning more: http://www.carolwood.org/
