Just want to say how nice it is here, no one posting their politcal opinions. Facebook can be a real drag. In fact I have never seen a Diva post any politcal garbage on FB either. It's all my other 'friends". So I just want to thank all of you for making this such a nice place to visit.

I'm working on my outfit for the M&G and I found something really fun for the exchange. Just need to find something to go with it.

Yay! Ok then for the dates of the Diva trip with the discount it's something like $107/night plus tax. Good? Bad? Neutral? What do you (far more knowledgeable) Divas think? I should add that this is a standard two doubles room... which by looking at the hotel map (it's so awesome that they have a map!!!) is probably where I want to be (i.e. furthest from the freeway).

Not bad. They had the 50% discount come up a few months ago for the February nights and a bunch of us grabbed rooms then. Are you on the email list for them? I think we're still hoping they'll have the 50% discount for March as well, but nothing yet, as far as I know.

Anyone else??

I just barely got on their email list yesterday and only because of researching this trip! The thing is this: I definitely want to go, but I am not not sure yet if my mom will or not. If she doesn't, we might not know very far in advance.... so that means I won't know until much later whether I can split the cost with her or not. That being said... the Anaheim Plaza (where I just stayed) is 74 a night. That hotel is probably actually closer to the parks but farther away from the majority of the Divas. I DO want to get to know all of you but the truth is I am kind of shy and I am not actually sure how much time I would spend socializing even if I were in the same hotel as most of you.... does this make any sense AT ALL??? Sorry... short on sleep lately....

We're waffling. Problem is, Russ loves to play in the casinos. Needless to say, gambling is not an approved expense right now. I mean, I can justify eating out once at Belagio's buffet. I could justify a reasonably priced show. I can't justify just handing money over. LOL The timeshare has a full kitchen and they run a shuttle to Von's for shopping, so we could do most of our eating in the condo. I can always go buy a new jigsaw puzzle and do that. Bring some movies. Hang out in a place I don't have to clean. With a jacuzzi tub. Purr. We will lose my airfare - apparently it was from a ticket from last year, so I may go anyway. Wanna run away from home for a couple nights, Beth? It's a two bedroom unit. LOL

Run away?? I wish!! LOL I'm not too sure how the rest of my family will feel about that though. Once you decide what to do, let me know. We can definitely hang out a bit. Hopefully Michele and Jane can join us, too.

Also gearing up for our big masquerade party this Friday, and Dave's HS reunion the next day.

Beth, after this weekend, I will be getting serious about ordering the sweatshirts and so on. So I will be PMing you the info to post on Facebook, and what ever you are allowed to do here.

I agree. Sign up for the email lists. I think that's the only way to get their cheap rates now.

It makes sense. I am shy, too! Trust me, I know what that's like. But, if it's at all possible, I do think it's better to stay with the main group, especially because it is your first year. It might feel strange the first day, but not beyond that. It's an easy group to warm up to.

That's what I was going to suggest. They've made so many changes to their policies lately though that when you book it make sure you ask if it can be adjusted should a lower rate come through later on.

Micah loves to gamble too, so I give him a set amount of money and tell him, once it's gone it's gone. He's usually OK with that, unless he has his own money to take, then he spends some of that too. lol

Got more done on Amy's costume last night but now mine is feeling neglected. I still have to finish my necklace & earrings, attach the lights to the skirt and figure out how I'm going to carry the battery pack around, I have to figure out my make up, hair, and do hair jewelry as well. I'm starting to freak out now....lol I need to take the rest of the week off work but I can't. I put chili in the crock pot this morning, that will be good!! We have some leftover nacho cheese and tortilla chips so I'll serve that with the chili and dinner is done. Then more work on Amy's costume, hoping to have time to work on my skirt/lights as well, maybe when she's busy pinning I'll be busy with that. Time is ticking away! LOL

HoJo for the trip - I got the retro rate of $89 a night for the 27th and 28th and then $119 a night for the 1st and 2nd (2 Queen Park view room).

Our new bathtub was delivered today. Two days early. Ugh. My neighbor is coming over tomorrow afternoon to start tearing out the old tub. I can't wait for this project to be DONE. Yuck.

My political rants on FB are more about how the whole election season makes me wanna hurl. I also will post Maxine comics and other funnies. I'm just eagerly looking forward to mid November when it will all be over and the dust will be (mostly) settled. LOL

That type of post doesn't bother me at all, it's just certain people who will be watching the debate and comment the whole time with her personal opinions as if hers and only hers are right. I'm about ready to unfriend her!
I like the comics and most jokes. Sometimes there are far too many cute animal pics. LOL
My next Dis trip will be Nov. 16-18. Hub, Nicole, Bill and Violet too. Can't wait to see how Violet reacts to the characters. She's so outgoing and a real people person so all should be good for photos. We're staying at BW Park Place Inn. We always stay there and I got the room for $98. Looking forward to the Christmas decor and the yule log cake.

Lisa, you did better than me! I got $89 for the first two nights and then $135.20 (OUCH!) for the last 2 nights. I'm not sure if they have "cheap" rooms any more........ This is for 2Q premium room as well.

My next Dis trip will be Nov. 16-18. Hub, Nicole, Bill and Violet too. Can't wait to see how Violet reacts to the characters. Happy Hump Day ladies!! The week is almost over! That's both a blessing and a stressor because we still aren't quite done with our costumes. I ran out of thread last night so we had to stop work on Amy's coat earlier then we had planned but that made it possible for me to finish my earrings, necklace and I sewed the lights into my skirt! I will need to fix a few of the lights because I didn't stitch them in tight enough and I still need to figure out how I'm going to carry the battery pack exactly but it's coming together. I'm just about done, just need to finish up a few little things and do my nails and I'll be ready to go for my costume. We are close on the coat, after the fund raiser tonight I'll have Amy come over so we can work on it some more. I'm excited, we are going to look so amazing. lol

Lisa, have fun in Vegas, which timeshare? We have stayed at the Desert Rose (Shell) and the Grandview (RCI), Grandview is amazing!

We own Wyndham. Home resort is in Alexandria, VA (DC). This will be my 2nd stay at the Grand Desert in Vegas. They are on Harmon, not far from the Hard Rock. Next month will be my 2nd stay at Bonnet Creek. 2014 (we have even year points) we will have my 2nd and Russ' 3rd stay at our home resort. Then in 2016 I'll get to go back to Bonnet Creek. in 2008 we stayed at Dolphin Cove in Anaheim for almost a week too. That's a tough booking to get.
