Hi Everyone! I've not been here in so long that there's a new thread. Oh my!! I feel like this week is Christmas week as excited and frantic as I am!

I hope everyone and their relatives get to feeling better very soon! Fluids fluids fluids. And lots of hand sanitizer!

George, I'm leaving the leaves in the backyard until I get back. There is still one tree that is holding onto some. I hope they don't blow into your yard. That would be some pretty powerful wind!

Can glow bracelets be packed in my carry-on?

Is there liquid inside them? If yes than no they can't.

Mom is sick (we live together) and I am taking her to the dr. today and for her to agree without a fight means she is truly sick. She has been sick since Saturday and only feels a little better at this point. Now I am worrying about going away this weekend. The good thing is, my sister lives nearby (relatively) and my oldest niece comes home from school on Thursday. Mom could go stay at my sister's house, or oldest niece could stay at our place I guess. I am just feeling guilty about leaving on Friday. She might have some kind of flu. Don't think it is H1N1, no respiratory symptoms, I feel fine. Hopefully, the dr. will know what is going on and she starts to feel better by Thursday night. Pixie Dust please. I'm sure Mom doesn't want me calling her every couple of hours this weekend.

Here's hoping your mother gets well quickly.

Facing a similar problem here. DD21 is sick. Yep, I'm still on Tamiflu, but she has no health conditions which will get her Tamiflu (they recommend you don't use it unless you have a pre-existing health condition), so we're riding it out. And you would think that since I'm the only one leaving for this trip, that maybe someone could take care of her...but of course not.

So, we'll have to see how this progresses. She was also the one taking care of the furbabies, and again...nobody else can do this, since DS lives at school. If she is still very sick, I'll have to stay home to take care of her. She's a quick healer, though, so I'm hoping for the best.

Oh Mindy I hope she gets better real fast!

I doubt it. I think that would count toward your liquids and they would confiscate them and THAT would be HORRIBLE!!!!

Are most of you planning on being back at work on Monday? Tuesday?

I fly home on Monday, taking Tuesday off to recover then I go back to work on Wednesday. I will then work 6 days then I will be off 18 days for our holiday break and a few extra days off, that I have added on to the break.

The would count in the 3-1-1 rule and have to be in the quart size bag. If they have more than 3 oz of liquid, then they would need to go into the checked luggage. I am sticking mine in my checked suitcase.

I am hoping the 50 - 60 mph wind gusts we are expecting will blow what is left in my yard and on my tree away, as last week was the last week for curbside pick-up.

wow it's been crazy, i haven't had a chance to log in much.

still waiting on my official job offer, i really hope they give it to me today or tomorrow, so i know before we leave on Thursday. i hate to go on vacation for 10 days not knowing. ugh!

we are all packed almost and i forgot how much it takes to bring along with a 2yo. We are so excited, i could almost burst! or head explode.....or something.

Scott - Boston to Austin To Orlando?? Kinda the long way around isn't it??

It wasn't really planned that way. DAP was a late decision and I was already committed to this Austin trip.

I would have flown straight to Orlando tomorrow, but I have a 4pm meeting tomorrow I really need to attend and Pam could use some help getting things squared away before Thursday morning.

However, I am eyeing the weather in the Northeast tomorrow. I have to change planes at JFK. If it looks like I am going to get stuck at JFK I will change plans and skip the Boston part of the trip. Hard part is I have to decide by about 6am.

I have to go get ready for my talks tonight. I'll stop by chat when I get back and see if anyone is still hanging out.
