DIS DigiScrappers Challenge #30 ~ 11/5/08-11/11/08

Fantastic LO's so far! I am sorry I will have to miss the challenge this week. We leave tonight for Boston, Providence and New York for a whirlwind 4 day college tour for my DD. This week was also senior week at our school for band, drill, football and cheer, so I had to help plan the activities for last night's football game. I haven't even packed and we leave in 5 hours! I will checkout everyone's layouts when I return next week. Have fun!

This is the first one I have missed!

Thanks! It took forever but I kind of liked the effect.

According to dtuneslive.com it's from Aladdin, but it must have been on a demo version or something because I'm pretty sure it's not in the movie or on the CD. I could be wrong. But anyway, that's where it's supposed to be from and it's just so "right" for living through the teenaged years! :-)
Thanks for the info. I just looked it up and this is what I found about that song on Wikipedia...

The 2004 soundtrack includes two [cut songs], both written by Howard Ashman and sung by Alan Menken in the album: "Proud of Your Boy", which Aladdin was going to sing to his mother (a character removed from the film)[3], and "High Adventure", sung by the Genie to encourage Aladdin (cut because two songs for the Genie were considered enough)[6].The 2004 DVD includes as extra features "Proud of Your Boy" sung by Clay Aiken, and four songs in test versions: "Proud of Your Boy", "You Can Count On Me", "Humiliate the Boy", and "Why Me".
And now we know. :)

This is my first challenge and I wanted to "play" and don't think I'll get another chance between now and Tuesday so here it is...

Geezzz, Susan, you made me tear up too! What a great page...a keeper for sure. Perfect.

This is the second page of the Chef Mickey spread that I started for an earlier challenge. The lyrics are from a song from The Goofy Movie, appropriately.

WHOA! You're all blowing me away with your use of lyrics and your INCREDIBLE layouts! Keep it up, ladies!! I LOVE looking!!!

Terri - where'd you get such a cute kit? ;)

Hello! I haven't been able to do a challenge in a while. I actually did this layout a while ago for a Scrapmatters challenge but I redid it last night and added some Britt Glamorama! It doesn't have to count, I just wanted to share. This layout is about my Best Friend that passed in April of 2007. In October of 2007, we went to Disney World during her birthday week with her family and another family that was extremely close to her to celebrate her life. She was only 37. It reminds us all not to take anything for granted and to make the most of every moment!

Just popping in to say I've missed you ladies and your beautiful scrapping!!!
I had to step away from this wonderfully addictive hobby as I was swamped with school and starting up work and family life.

We leave in two weeks and I am not sure if I am going to have time to scrap our trip or not?! I can't decide, but I am leaning toward yes...in which case you will likely seem me start back up come the new year!

:thumbsup2

And now we know. :)

That's cool to know! Thanks!!! I wonder who his mother was going to be? At the end of the song it talks about "since I wasn't born perfect like Dad and you" and it always made me feel it was more of a Hercules song than Aladdin.

Anyway... it sure fits my teenager ;-)

She was kind of a short, squat woman, and Dad was supposed to have just passed away, I believe...let me go see if I can find a picture to add. Not the one I remembered, but it gives you an idea http://www.imdb.com/media/rm59873536/tt0103639
Not to hijack the thread, sorry - all of the layouts here are beautiful, and the When she loved me one almost made me cry. Nice work ladies!

There are so many romantic couples in the Disney movies. A couple years ago, four of those couples appeared on US stamps. The first day of issue ceremony was at the kick-off of the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot that year. A floral representation of each of the four stamps was unveiled at the ceremony. Seven foot tall topiaries of each of the couples could be seen throughout the park. I've used the lyrics from You'll Be In My Heart from the Tarzan movie in my LO. Even though Tarzan wasn't depicted on any of the stamps, the lyrics seem to fit the theme, Romance.

I think I may not make it in time for this challenge. We just returned from the inaugural launch of the Ruby Princess!

I did want to say that looked at all of the layouts entered so far, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!! What a fun challenge! I'm still going to try to incorporate Disney songs into some of my layouts in the future, even if I don't make this deadline.

Great idea!!!!

:hippie:

OK, I just got back from Disney Saturday and I have over 2,000 pictures form the trip that I have to go through to figure out what to scrap, but I'm doing this challenge! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow. I love all the layouts so far, especially the Woody one. It is so sweet!

We were there on the same day! How crazy is that? "Small world" ;)

AMAZING LAYOUTS EVERYONE! Still time to get them in! I'm off to scrap one myself...what to use, what to use? :confused3 Decisions, decisions. :lmao:

Ya'll are amazing! Your lo's are making me laugh & cry!!! I'll post comments tomorrow (I hope!) but this is the first I've been on the 'puter for a couple of days.

Here's my LO. Dumbo was DS's favorite movie for a long time, and I came to absolutely adore this song. So, I just had to add all of the lyrics.
