This is my first time hosting a challenge. Yay! Part of this challenge was going to be costume related, but ngneer98 kind of stole my thunder there with last week's challenge. ;)

With Halloween, my fav holiday, taking place this week, this challenge is going to be related to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is a color challenge, based on the Boo To You Parade (which is a MUST see!!) You can only use the colors found in the main sign for the parade:

Here is the color palette:
dischallenge_colors.jpg

The full rules:

1. You may only use the following colors in your layout: black, white, purple, green, blue, and orange. You don't have to have the exact shade as in the color palette, but getting close would be nice. :)

2. Have some kind of glitz/spakle/bling/etc. One of my fav things of digi scrapping is all the fun of glitter, but none of the mess!

3. No staples. Just because. ;)

4. Date your layout.

5. Must be Disney related in some way. From the parks, movies, Disney costumes/dress up, Disney On Ice, etc.

6. Post by 11:59pm EST Nov 4 (if you're in the US, make sure you vote that day too!!) to be eligible for the prize.

I haven't secured a prize yet, but when I do, I'll edit that in. There will be two winners. One picked by random, and one picked by my fellow Disney obsessed mom. There are always SO many awesome entries, I just know I wouldn't be able to pick one myself. ;)

Here's my layout. Please ignore the color of the date tag. ;) Today kind of snuck up on me, and I didn't get a chance to make a new LO for this challenge, so this one fits the best (the date tag color being the only thing not to fit!) :)

Ooh, I forgot rule #7: Have fun!! :)

ETA, Britt made this AWESOME participation prize for anyone who submits a LO for this challenge. Thanks so much Britt!

Does the layout need to be halloween related - or from the halloween events at Disney, or can it just use those colors and be disney related (ie buzz lightyear -- which is what I think of when I see these colors).

Here is my layout, let me know if it doesn't meet the requirements!

How cute! And I adore the way you used Buzz. At first I was wondering where you got such a realistic looking sticker... duh!

Great job. And I love that ride!

Fun challenge Heather!! Love your LO! Such a fun picture of your mom. Love the selective coloring.... and those sparkle burst thingies of Britt's are some of my FAVORITE embellies.... so CUTE!

Krisi -- SO CUTE!!! Love the awesome Buzz extraction! We love the astro blasters... :) :)

Carolinagirl -- Fantastic!! Love how you used all of the elements. What a great picture!! Super cute title!!

Nope, it can be related to anything Disney, just use the colors. :)

I'll be back to comment on the LOs so far (you guys are fast!), but I haven't slept yet because I've been celebrating my Phils becoming champions of the world!! (I have no voice left ;))

Love this challenge! I love this color combo even for non-halloween layouts.

I asked last week and never got a reply, so I'm hoping you guys can help a newbie out! How do I post the actual pic from photobucket instead of the link? I keep searching dif threads and am coming up empty handed. Anyone? Thanks.

To insert the image into the post (and i think you need to have 10 posts or so as well) type [.img] and [./img] around your image link, but take out the periods. So it would be:

[.img]http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i290/lvdisney/wdw-66web.jpg[./img]

and here's your pic:

Or....if you are using Photobucket if you look under your image once it is uploaded you will see a box labeled "IMG Code"...all you have to do is copy the info in the box and paste it into your message here and it should work. Saves a little typing.:)

I think you have to have 15 or 20 posts before you can post an image. I know you have to have 10 to post a link, but I think its slightly higher to post an image.

Thank you all so much!! This really helps! Now I need to post more frequently to up my count! :) Also, apparently I forgot to resize before uploading to photobucket. Sorry it's so huge. Hello Figment, right?! Anyways, thanks for all the help and thanks for another great challenge. This is my second one. I had to bail last week. Life gets so busy at times, doesn't it?

I decided not to allow myself to spend days working on the LO for this challenge, so I succeeded on doing this one in about an hour. Yay!

But then I realized the alpha isn't any of the allowed colors - could it be counted as part of the "bling" since it's metal? If not, I'll change it to something else. Just let me know.

Krisi616 - you inspired me to get my Buzz page done! Thanks for the push.

Here it is:

I am a newbie and just posted my first few pages on the other digiscrappers thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1369373&page=226 But I had a question, where do you get free Disney paper and embelishments for digiscrapping? And what programs do you all use to create your pages? I just started this week and have been using photobucket scrapbooking section.

Thanks
Fran

Fran -

Check out http://brittishdesigns.blogspot.com That is where I got started with my disney stuff. She had freebies if you go back into her archives -- some I think as far back as January. They will always be on her Friday posts as they are add-ons to her complete kits. You can see her kits at www.scrapmatters.com - go to the shop then under Britt-ish Designs. Good luck on your quest.

I also know there are other places to get freebies - there was a complete thread that listed the various places under scrapbooking here at DIS also.

Thanks for a fun challenge. Here is my page.

I love this challenge! Very fun! Great layouts shared so far!!!! :cheer2:

Unfortunately, I goofed a little. LOL! I was looking at the color scheme chips, and forgot to double check the list of colors in the post. Well, my orange is red. Eck! I will try to work up another layout soon, but thought I'd go ahead and submit this one. Not sure if it can count for the challenge or not? :confused3

Janette and Robin! I love both of those! I might have to scrap lift the idea into paper......but really very nice....it really makes the pictures pop out!!

Some gorgeous pages ladies! I finally have something that qualifies!:cool1: (we have Tink and a Pirate happening here) It was hard not using staples, I'm a staple addict! (click for credits)
