Dis Dieters week beginning 31st march 08

When i first joined ww i lost a total of 4st 4lb :) it took a long time but it was worth it.

ive been back to ww a few times since but ive never put back on all the weight and im determined that i won't !

Determination counts for a lot :wizard:

That's amazing that you've kept it off!!!...
i'm one of those people who can say that i've lost thousands of pounds over the years......i manage to keep it off for a while, but then it slowly creeps back up......
the first time i lost 50 pounds was when i was 14 years old...that time it took about 6 years for it to slowly go back up, then a few years later i lost 50 pounds again....and then again and then again....terribly vicious circle....

now i'm on the way back down and determined to keep it off this time....i hope i'll be better this time around...

Morning Everyone

I'm chuffed to say that I have lost another 1lb this week. I've only got 2lbs to lose till I get to my 'haven't been this light for years' weight, but it really is getting tough, and I probably won't reach it for another month - but I'm keeping focussed :thumbsup2

well done!!

a good friend of mine has lost about 5 stone over the past year with Weight Watchers and exercising every day. She still has about 3 stone to go, but she looks and feels so much better.

At the beginning it was very difficult for her to exercise. She had knee pain and it was just difficult to exercise with the extra weight. But she started going to a workout place and did as much as she could. Which wasn't much to start.
She began with 10 minutes on the stationary bicycle (easier on her knee).
She slowly increased her time.

Then after a few months, after she'd already lost quite a bit, she added the treadmill.
So now she does an hour each day - 30 minutes on the bicycle and 30 minutes on the treadmill.
It's amazing how much she has progressed and how great she feels now.

I don't think she'd have been able to lose 5 stone without the exercise in addition to the diet.

Thanks for this great advice and support. I do need to exercise but like your friend it is hard. I too am getting knee pains and back ache and I just feel so unfit. However I have got myself a pedometer and I am planning to try and walk regularly now that the evenings are lighter. Also my DH and I have a nintendo Wii which we love playing. Well a new game comes out at the end of the month called Wii Fit, it comes with what equates to an aerobic step which you use whilst you follow the directions in the game. It has workouts, dances and core muscle exercise to name a few. It weighs you and monitors your progress and you can set targets of how much you'd like to loose and it tells you how much to do each day. It sounds fun and I am planning to use it every day. It certainly can't do any harm.

I have been looking at the Wii Fit...i didn't realise that it weighs you and monitors you, that sounds even better than I thought! Thanks for the info, I am definately going to buy it! :goodvibes

I'm off to Manchester tomorrow, so that will entail a meal at Frankie & Benny's and several bottles of wine, so I won't be too hopeful to lose anything next week;)

Well done to all the losers and those who have STS

:wizard: .. and good luck for next week:wizard:

Well done Mandy.....slow and steady wins the race!

Have a great time in Manchester. Have a glass or two for me. (i'm determined to be good) :rotfl2:

I think we are going to get that game as well......i love how the wii gets you moving around, its much better than some consoles !

We have preordered it on Amazon, it is not out until the 25th April.

By all accounts it is going to be a hard to come by item for a while so if you can perorder it somewhere then I would advise it.

well done on your weight loss  I'm new here, this is my first week on the diet but it is going well so far. Hope to have my own good news next week.

Did you find it anywhere Natalie? I have looked aswell and can't find it. :confused3

I have had a look around for you guys but still no luck I'm afraid. Try calling your local shops to see if they will be getting it in. Failing that keep checking back on the big sites like play.com and amazon. They are likely to be the first to get stock in. My fingers are crossed for you all :)
