well done Mandy, Im sure you will be at your holiday weight in no timeI am a bit annoyed with myself, as I have only lost 1 lb this week, and I know I should've done better. On the plus side, I am now just below 10 stone, so I need to lose 3 lbs to get to my 'happy weight' and 6 lbs to get to my 'holiday weight', hopefully I'll reach at least my happy weight in 5 weeks time![]()
I have lost another 1lb this week so HAVE achieved what I wanted - a little 'cushion' so I can enjoy myself on hols!!!![]()

Best of luck to everyone for the upcoming weeks!!!![]()

havent had time to post yesterday, lost 1lb this week, will catch up with this thread when i get back from work later on
Lets keep it going over the weekend everyone
I havent been particularly good this week, but I havent snacked, rather just had not soo good dinners.
Its not weigh in day for me, but I jumped on the scales and am stll the same, so thats good.
Going for a loooong walk today - and dinner is already made so wont be tempted to have a takeaway or a pixxaand have the parents over for dinner tomorrow so again no real chance to be really naughty - unless I have lots of roasties !
Have a good one everyone .

i have sts which is a bit gutting as been really good, but as i have said early on, waiting to see gastroenterologist, and having watched what i doing for 2 weeks and not having lost, it makes me think more that there is a hidden isse
not sure if this is good or bad
anyway going to wat loads of fudge and enjoy merlin and start again tomorrow![]()
thanks mandy, i have just resigned myself that its not going to be so easy as last time
i have put on 2 and a half stone since my op last summer, despite HAVING to eat low fat and small quantities...HOW???
i just dont understand it, i know too much about diet and nutrition i have a high carb diet, dont eat late ie after 7, have a "normal" job, im on my feet all day walking, but not running, iykwim, not a massive snacker but if i do idried fruits...they are my downfall
i even did a food diary and analysed it as i would for a stranger and no obvious issues....
i do take pain killers (perscriptions) which might be an issue...2 weeks amd hopefully ill have some answers as have a barium meal on the 28th![]()
On the face of it, it looks like you are doing all the right things to lose weight, so I hope your doctor has some answers for you in a few weeks
though good luck with the barium meal, I've never had one, but I can't imagine it being very pleasant
I hope it all goes well for you hun
tbf mandy, i have had cameras dowwn my throat and ahem, the other end, i have had x rays, scans and mris, the barium bit is the last in a very long line of unpleasant procedures i have endured in the last 12 months
i just hope they are going to work out whatthe problem is though im running out of hope
just live with the pain...

Do you mean you dont have a hgh carb diet?
If you DO have a high carb diet make sure it is "proper" carbs - ie brown pasta/brown rice - nothing "white" if possible!
The following information was given to me this week by my personal trainer (just having a couple of sessions to kick start my training)
Use veg as your snack fruit NOT dried fruit - they are very high in sugars and even a handfull is tons of calories! (I have a weakness for dried apricots but cant buy them! Count out a handful of dried apricots and then see how many fresh ones it would relate to - i bet it tons more!)
Stock up on raw carrotts/celery/cucumber/peppers instead - boring I know but keeps the weigh off
Try to avoid bananas/pineapple/peaches/nectarines - have apples/plums instead. The first lot are very high in sugars.
If you can eat more protein and veg than carbs - canned fish is v good, although prawns and smoked salmon are quite high in fat.
Eat mixed nuts for "good" fats too - just not tooo many as they are quite high in calories. Be careful about sauces etc - full of hidden calories....
A food diary is a great idea - but you need to get someone else to have a look at it if you are struggling. I though I knew all about healthy eating, but obviously not as still overweight!!
Eat 100% well for 6 days a week, and on the 7th eat - within reason - what you want.
i am no nutrition expert, and you have your problems that are under investigation, but the above is - just - starting to work for me.
Good Luck

thanks katie, i have a degree in diet and nutrition, but still cant see what im doing wrong- so agree that a 2nd opinion is deff required
cant eat brown rice- its minging...dried sultanas are my down full. eat them by the handful, they are high in sugar, but its fructose rather than sucrose, which is "a little bit" better
i have started eating snak a jacks rather than quavers- cant eat normal crisps, eat loads of veg...here is an example of last week...feel free to point out where am going wrong as im in a "wood for the trees" moment
bfast - bran flakes with sultanas or raisin wheats small amount of semi skimmed milk (the milk is non negotiable as have lactose issues and its the only milk i can drink, about 100ml )
break- grapes or a satsuma or a cereal bar
lunch - ham swich with branston not butter and salad, snack a jacks, 1 l of water, banana and kitkat (my fav and low cal)
dinner - chicken with veg and pasta, low fat yogurt
ev - options hot chocolate with a teaspoon of milk or another bowl of cereals if ive had a bad day
yes, odd choc biscuit or kid size milky way...but thats it!
oh, and about 5 l of sugar free squash and 2/3 cups of black coffee..no sugar...
yes, i had 1 square of fudge yesterday, feel free to tell me what im doing wrong!!

Maybe you are trying "too hard "??? I saw the nurse this week for my thyroid check up and she has told me that I dont eat enoughshe looked at my food diary which resembles yours and told me to eat more if i wanted to lose weight !!
Apparently my body stores everything as its in starvation mode ????
So the new plan is to eat eat eatand se if that kick starts my metabolism!!
I think Ive asked you this before m8 but have you ever had your thyroid levels checked ?? The reason i first went to docs with mine was that i was in pain all day and night and couldnt lose weight - might be worth a quick blood test if you havent already !!
Take care and dont lose heart we will all get there in the end and sts is better than a gain !![]()

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO - to dried fruit!
i have started eating snak a jacks rather than quavers- cant eat normal crisps, eat loads of veg...here is an example of last week...feel free to point out where am going wrong as im in a "wood for the trees" moment
bfast - bran flakes with sultanas or raisin wheats small amount of semi skimmed milk (the milk is non negotiable as have lactose issues and its the only milk i can drink, about 100ml )
try making your own cereal - use porridge oats, bran, chopped mixed nuts, dates etc - you'll know exactly whats in it
break- grapes or a satsuma or a cereal bar
Try having an apple or some veg instead - red peppers are very sweet it its sweetness you are craving
lunch - ham swich with branston not butter and salad, snack a jacks, 1 l of water, banana and kitkat (my fav and low cal)
change the bread for a baked potato, Food Doctor pitta bread, couscous or some pasta - but brown pasta (just needs cooking a bit longer) -the branston pickle is a no-no - its full of suger. How about making some veggie soup - like the WW no points one? Its soo filling.
try a small scraping of pesto instead or v low fat mayo or cheese triangles
dinner - chicken with veg and pasta, low fat yogurt
no pasta here - add more veg, and have some stewed apple with your yoghurt
ev - options hot chocolate with a teaspoon of milk or another bowl of cereals if ive had a bad day
DEFO no cereal!!!!
have another low fat yogurt if you are still hungry
yes, odd choc biscuit or kid size milky way...but thats it!
try to keep your treats to your "day off" Buy a really expensive bar of 85% cocoa chocolate - allow yourself 2 squares a day. Its much richer than milky way type chocolate and 2 square should satisty the craving enough.
I know how hard it is in the evening because this is my most difficult time, I CRAVE sweet stuff and often go to bed way to early to stop me eating!!!
oh, and about 5 l of sugar free squash and 2/3 cups of black coffee..no sugar...
