DIS Dads in December - Let the Party Bus Roll!

I need to get the dates for the week before and get some tickets I guess. I am still trying to decide if we want to do this or not. Liked the Halloween party, but just not totally sold on this yet. I guess I am worried that it will be more crowded and not able to walk on things as much as the halloween party.

Steve, the dates for the week before are Nov. 28,30 , Dec. 2,3.

I don't know how the crowd level is, but I would guess they only sell X amount of tickets, weekends and closer dates to Christmas most likely have the bigger crowds:confused3

They released dates for MVMCP they are Dec 5,7,9,10 for when we are there. The 7th & 10th are premiuim days (charge $5 more a tic):confused3

So when do we want to go:confused3

we just got our tickets for the mvmcp for december 7th. just a heads up, when we went in dec of 07 we went on a "discount night", couldnt walk in the place it was so full!!! dw said she will pay the extra $15 for the three of us to go on a none discounted night. hoping for less people. the dvc and ap nights are also the discounted nights. im forgoing my ap mvmcp pins this year.

How do you find out which nights are discounted?

steve, just stay away from discounted nights and weekends. those discounted nights are dvc, ap nights and tickets in advance, discounts. they have a christmas show, character meet and greets, it snows on main street, and the parade is pretty cool. ( the floats have a scent to them. the one smells like ginger bread, one like candy etc...) and of course the fat guy from the north pole that cost me a bundle evey year.:lmao: if you liked the halloween party, youll like the christmas party. have you looked into going to the candle light proc. in epcot? we go every time we go done for christmas.:thumbsup2

What is the candlelight processional?

What is the candlelight processional?

look under special events in epcot. its held at the american theater and its a 50 piece orchestra and the liberty bell singers with about 200 high school singers behind them. they have a celebrity nariator every night and they tell the christmas story.:thumbsup2

Are the Osbourne Lights & Candlelight Processional a extra ticket:confused3

No, they are both part of your park ticket. You'll need to either book a Candlelight Processional Dinner package or line up early for seats, though.
The Osbourne lights are back in DHS's Streets of America, and open to everyone. They will try to sell you some special glasses that make the lights seem to twinkle a little more (a few bucks, if I recall), but the lights look amazing without them.

Yes, they do! And when you see the million+ lights, you'll be amazed that one family used to decorate their property with them in a typical suburban neighborhood in Arkansas. People would drive from all over to see them, and traffic was a nightmare. Much better when they gave them over to WDW!

We were also thinking of hitting the Ice city at the Gaylord. If anyone would like to go but does not have a car there, we have room in the mini - van (as long as no one needs a baby seat or booster, only have 1)

we always buy the dinner pkg for the candle light. we eat in germany than go overto the candlelight show. the dinner pkg garentees you a seat at the show. you line up on the left(looking at the stage) and the rest line up on the right. they let the people on the right in after the people on the left are in. and we get there shortly after the show before us starts and we are one of the first 5 families in the "door". :thumbsup2

i forgot to post, we are in a two bedroom at okw from dec. 1st and leaving dec.11th. all i want is a view of the golf course.(not florida weeds) i could of had an hh room but the family we are traveling with is only getting a one bedroom and there are no one bedroom hh rooms left.just hopeing everything works out with dw!!

Doesnt look like I will be able to make the switch over to BWV or BCV.There are no rooms availible for our stay.Looks like we will be staying at SSR.Oh well can never complain about being in Disney

talking about the christmas party at the mk. the parade runs twice per night, we always sit to watch the 10:30 parade. as soon as the 1st parade clears out on main street, we find a horse hitch, plop down on the curb next to it and we dont move. the parade usualy hits main street around 11pm. there are alot less people for the second parade. if you dont manage to get the curb , there is only one row deep of people standing so its easy to see the parade.:thumbsup2

Do they have the character meets going on while the parade is running? Seems like that would be a good time to get them out of the way and hit some rides while everyone else is watching the first parade.
