This trip was a bitter sweet one for me my father had been sick since March and was finally making a recovery so I made all of the arrangements to go and just a couple of days before I was to leave was dealt with his passing discussions with my mom (who was going to watch my daughter originally) and everything was able to rearrange all of my schedules and made the decision to go ahead with my trip dads last words to me were "go. have a good time, I will be here when you get back, and say hi to Mickey for me."
With a heavy heart I boarded my plane at 5:30 am Tuesday morning from Dayton to Midway first time I had flown into Midway and also using ATA flight was smooth and quick for a prop plane and soon was landing in snow! Made it to my connecting flight and there we sat for at least two hours waiting to be de-iced. One of my fellow Dis Con buddys (PatrickIL) was on this same flight and due to available seating, we moved to the back and well proceeded to get into slight trouble first time I have ever heard the pilot say the beverage cart is now closed, just sit back and relax and we will be landing in Orlando in another 300 400 miles.

But hey, soon we were landing in Orlando and greeted with sun shine and warm temperatures. Used Florida Tours car service and he was waiting for me at the baggage claim. Soon was off to a grocery stop where I picked up diet coke and soon I was arriving at the Dolphin. Check in was smooth and quick and my room was ready by now it was around 1 1:30 p. m.
My room was 9185 in the west wing had 2 queen beds with a balcony view overlooking part of the pool the little lake where the sawn paddle boats are docked the waterfall and MGM.
Quickly unpacked and sat on my balcony enjoying the sunshine tried to take a nap but couldnt - so decided to veg on the balcony for the afternoon and enjoy the peace and quiet and sunshine.
Soon was getting cleaned up and off to Downtown Disney for a quick shopping trip hit the Lego Store where the employees were doing YMCA on the counters and then a quick blitz of the World of Disney. But had bigger and better plans for a little later. Soon was boarding a Disney bus for the Grand Floridian and to help celebrate a birthday at Victoria & Alberts.
Dining Review of V&A with pictures
After dinner one due to the wine pairings and two to the time (1:00) an executive decision was made to have a cab called to whisk us back to the Dolphin where I was soon resting my head and dreaming of the next day adventures.
Mickey Bar total = zero
I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
