DIS Challenge #54

I checked last night and I took no photos of our lodging this past trip! So, I can't play this time...but am enjoying everyone's layouts!

***The codes that I sent out for the alpha, are not working! Neverland Scraps is without a computer at the moment, but should be getting one tomorrow! Please bare with me, as I try to figure out what the problem is, and get it straightened out! I'm very sorry! As soon as I get it straightened out, I'll resend the links! Again, I am very sorry!***

Dawn

Don't worry about it, Dawn! I'm so excited to get that alpha, I can wait. :)

Heather- Love the glittery title and the Mickey Heads dotting the "i" 's! Love the stitches border! (Is this one you can get to by a boat from Downtown Disney?)

Thanks. :D No, this is a hotel off property. The resorts that you can get to by boat from Downtown is the Port Orleans French Quarter & Port Orleans Riverside (and I *think* Saratoga Springs.)

I'm sorry! Do you have any photos of getting ready for your trip or the traveling part of it? I'd hate for you to miss out on the challenge! :( I'm flexible! Anything that you think would work...go for it! The object is to get pages done! How about the first view of the park? Anything like that?! I'm just trying to help you out!

boBQuicy- LOVE the background photo!

Thank you, it is one of our favorites! You should see it in 20 x 30", it is still very sharp and looks good in our living room. :)

This may be tough, I think I've scrapped all the resorts and travel there pics! I'll see what I can find. We sometimes visit other resorts that we don't stay at, could I scrap one of those? (although I think those are all scrapped too!) lol

I think that could work, if you found some from a resort you visited but didn't stay there! I thought some people may have problems with this, especially if they'd already scrapped the photos or didn't take any! I'm being flexible! Anything along the lines of a hotel or resort or travel will work!

Sorry it's been hard for some of you!

You're sweet! I will have to think about it. I took about two pictures of the kids swimming...maybe I could just journal about that day (we took a Disney park break and did other stuff that day). OOOH! And I just remembered I had some pics on my phone. They aren't great, but I think I have an idea of a page I can do now!

Just wanted to throw out there that you can grab photos from other places on the Dis. The Resorts board and the Photography board come to mind. You could get pictures and do a LO about where you want to stay one day. (I did one about the Grand Floridian once) or grab more pictures to just fill out the pool pictures you already have. Just wanted to try and help! :3dglasses

I think I have the link to the alpha figured out. I'll send out the links later after my girls get home and we finish up homework! (homework on a Fri...go figure!) ;):hippie:

Wow you guys have done an awesome job with this challenge!! My name is Neverland Scraps, I am the one who created the alpha for all of you to play along as well as the mini kit for a couple of you lucky scrappers!

With that said, I wanted to say:

Stenogoddess: Your photos of the Wilderness Lodge are beautiful! I love the kit and the wilderness look of the layout. Such a beautiful resort to stay at!

JuneBugFL: The colors for your layouts of the Beach Club are perfect!! What a neat vacation that must have been to spend Easter there!

boBQuincy: WOW, your layout is phenominal!! I love the Yacht/Beach Club photos and the colors that you've instilled throughout the layout!

BooToo: I love the Towel People in your photos!! We got bunnies on one of the days we were there. I think my girls would have gone wild seeing people made out of the hand towels and wash cloths!

AlbumLady: I love the softness of your layout representing the Beach Club so wonderfully!

Kswm30b: I love how you made the ears in the title of your layout! Super Cute and creative!

QuiltyMom: I love the colors of your layouts and the photos of the hotel. I've never been to a Hojo's before so to see your photos were a wonderful representation of the place!

Cavea001: What a neat birthday celebration that must have been!! What an even better deal to be able to stay at the Carribean Beach Resort!!

Mumloveseeyore: I love the sun, the water splash element. Your layout rocks of the Hippy Dippy Pool!!

Thanks to all those who participated in the challenge...Make sure you check out the full size kit,

available at my Natural Designs In Scrapbooking store, which at the beginning of this thread there is a 50% off code to pick this kit up!! Also there is another Disney-inspired collab kit in my store as well so make sure you check it out!

Can't wait to see who else plays.
Dawn, thanks for hosting such an awesome challenge! :lovestruc

Do you have any photos from any previous vacation?
If not, what about going online and getting a photo of the hotel/resort and writing about the ammenities that you had, what you thought of the place, etc. Make it more of a journaling layout instead of all about the photos.

I hope you are able to play! ((hugs))

Yay!! I'll play!

I'm not entirely sure about this layout, should I add a stroke to make the photos stand out a bit? Also, any advice as to an enbellishment or two and wear to put it? :confused3 I've tried a few things and can't get a thing to work. LOL

That's adorable! I love it. You did a good job.
Pretty much I'd agree about putting stroke (white) around your photos and then add a little shadowing to make them stick out. Also you can add staples to hold down the name photo. Or you could add stitching to hold down some photos.

You have a great layout there and the hotel looks awesome!
Thanks for playing along!!

I usually add a stroke in a color that is in the photo, then add drop shadow and emboss. This generally makes the photo stand out pretty well.

For Southwest embellishments there is always the iconic howling coyote (with full moon) and saguaro cactus. :)

As I looked though my photos, I realized I don't take pictures of the room! I've got to start doing that...I love everyone's room pic layouts!

I did have a pic of a resort, the polynesian as we headed toward it for our 'Ohana breakfast, so I thought it would work.

Thanks for the challenge!

Seems I take plenty of photos of our resort. But, it was tough finding elements.:confused3

Here is my layout:

notes4theheart- I really like the placement of the photos! I agree with maybe the stroking. Otherwise, I think the patterned paper as a background, and the simplicity, really makes it nice! Maybe add your date and a little journaling (maybe a journaling strip or small box).

Mom2JPL- Love the colors and the circle word art! Glad you chose that resort! We were supposed to go to a dinner there, but had to cancel, so it was nice to see it! :)

VacationKicks- perfect colors, love the blocking! Great pics too! Love how everything is stapled together!

Just a couple more days! Keep those layouts coming! :)
