Good afternoon ladies

Lisa - so glad your post op went well. That should put a big ol :) smile on your face for sure.

Laurie - That treatment sounds very interesting. Never heard of it either. But if its a way to avoid surgery I would strongly consider it too.

Elizabeth - good to know about the key. Its confusing to me. The car only came iwth one key as the dealer told dh that is all they got from the auction place. So I am wondering if he knows the code?? Ds20 read on the internet that you could buy an extra key online and just go to a dealer and have them program it for you?? I am confused. its all too technical for me. But for what we paid for the car he (the dealer) should throw in another key). I guess he figures its used so too bad etc. All the car dealers around here get terrible internet reviews.

I woke up dizzy and quesy, so not good. The smell of food was making me sick. Hmm, at least I know I am not pregnant:rotfl2:. I only ate some yogurt and an english muffin all day so far. I also have a headache. Strange.

Also got the ins. papers for the new car and they are wrong. They have it listed for ds22 and dh. Where did that come from, I have no idea. I hope the title will not be wrong also. I will leave this up to dh.

I am not doing much. My head still hurts and I took 2 arthritis strength tylenol. The only thing in the house. I figure if that big dose isint totally getting rid of my headache than this is not good. I just hope i dont get sick trying to make dinner.

Poor ds18 had to call the cops again at the pool. Some lady refused to leave and go get a real bathing suit. She just had a shirt and bra? She threatened ds too. He told the boss he is thinking of quitting, Or maybe quitting that pool. The poeple there are crazy this year. He asked for a raise to put up with this garbage. This is the 2nd time they had to call the cops in less than a month, gheesh!1

GTAGWTA. Enjoy your day ladies.

Maryann, my Altima didn't have a key at all. There were no keyholes in the doors and a push button ignition, and the trunk opened by remote. There was a slot inside the car where you would plug in the remote if the battery in the remote was too weak to start the car. I know the dealership told me it would be a huge pain in the tush to have another remote coded if I didn't know the code. :confused3 Good luck getting it sorted out!

We just paid off DH's car. Now he has to go get a new title for it to show that we own it outright. I looked it all up online but it is kind of confusing, which means he won't bother to do it.

Good afternoon ladies

I am much better today, yeah!
Mon. I start teaching all week at church with ds. Better start practicing my howdys:)
I think we will do some cell phone shopping over the week end. Ds22s phone is broken. Promised him one for christmas. Ds20 broke his in a water balloon fight. Told him we will only pay for half of a new one.

GTAGWTA. Have a great week end everyone. Its gong to storm here tomm., oh what fun!!

Glad you are feeling better, MaryAnn, just in time for next week. Is it vacation bible school?

I feel your pain. We have 4 new phones since um, March. Mine is the only relic but it is working. Can get an upgrade this month but really, these cell phone getting broken, lost, wet, it is ridiculous. I can't figure out how mine is still pristine. Maybe becuase it is mostly in my purse or sitting on my desk?

DD14 left for her two week camp in northern Alabama a little while ago. This is her third year, and she totally packed herself. The camp supplies a list, but after three years, she knows what to bring.

I love her independence but in a secret place in my heart, it is also hard to come to the realization that she is on her way out like our older two.

Not sure why I am sad, as the older two are still very connected in many ways, but now they both have apartments they share with friends. One day they will be more on their own., hopefully financially.

Guess I am feeling poor me today, sorry to be down. At least DH still sees me as center of his universe. I am positively sure he is not feeling sad about this new stage in life.

GAGWTA everyone and try to stay out of the heat.

Well its raining cats and dogs here. I am not gonna complain as we really need it desperately.

But I dont feel like shopping in the rain, so I guess we will wait till later. I will put together what I need to here. Sure glad we have a supply left of crayons, markers and I have to sharpen pencils etc. Gosh, I am getting a real appreciation for the "real" teachers out there.

Now I am supposed to go out to a dinner with dh mon. night. I really dont want to go, but the one lady I know who has cancer is going to be there, so I will go. She now has to have hernia surgery like me in August, I guess they try to fix one thing and other things get messed up.

I also saw the new menu for Via Napoli in Italy. I guess I will have to add that to my adrs when we can book it. I am thinking of a nice lunch there? I can compare it to real NY italian food:)

GTAGWTA. Have a great day.

Ready for tomorrow, MaryAnn?

I think you will have a rewarding week.

I managed to throw away the keys to my car yesterday. I did some heavy duty cleaning Friday as I took the afternoon off and was trying to accomplish something. We are rearranging our bedroom as we got a new tv and it is bigger than the old Sony from the 80's. We need to move the bed against the windows. but first I am trying to clear out a lot that I have allowed to gather, books, etc. Somehow, my keys managed to get cleared too. I only realized they were missing when we were going out the door to Sam's. An hour of looking led me to believe they were in the trash, first DH went through the recycling, then the trash and there they were. I was so aggravated at myself and we were so tired from searching, we had to "rest" for an hour to two.

How ridiculous is that?

Time for me to pace myself, huh?

Thanks Lisa, just like me to tell a story on myself.

DH was surprisingly patient but not thrilled to be doing the home version of dumpster diving.:rotfl:

And that was after both us of checked every possible indoor location and my car multiple times and I was, ahem, not acting like a adult happy camper.

Luckily, the keys (attached to my nice little Fossil change purse with my driver's license in it) were on the top of a glad bag with nothing disgusting involved, and at the top of the contents of our roll to curb trash bin.

Could have been far worse. And I am always the one preaching to the kids to put their phones in the same place every day so I am not asked that question no parent of a teen or young 20 something. . . do you know where my phone is, Mom?

One day I hope I am not looking for my false teeth this way. yuck yuck yuck

Laurie - your key story is too funny:rotfl2:. I am glad you finally found them . I am sure it was a relief. I almost did the same thing with my glasses. I always misplace them. I forget alot of things. (can you say cancer brain/radiation brain etc). Also makes me all the more sure we want to get that extra key for ds car.

Well the class room looks good. Dh, ds20 and ds18 helped with the finishing touches after church today. One girl is copying me and I am copying one of her ideas too. Just on a cheap scale. Gotta love repurposing cardboaad and brown paper bags. Its gonna be a camprfire. Also with construction paper and some sticks ds20 will get outside.

Worse, I thought ds18 was going to be my inroom helper. Now it appears he is also going to have to help with a group of kids and it better be the group that is in my class. I really wanted him there in case my voice goes bad and he could read the lesson etc. I am sure it will all work out.

Tomm. would have been my sisters 51st b day, so its good that God is letting me do this and keep my mind off of that.

Saw you could book the candelight pkg. on next tues. If that is right I will come up with my final game plan of Le Cellier or Tutto.

GTAGWTA. Blessings to you all always.

Busy day yesterday. Took DS16 to get his wisdom teeth out at 9:15 - they were done in less than an hour. He was fine when he came out of the anesthesia, but had trouble as the day went on. He got sick several times, couldn't tolerate the Vicodin and couldn't keep any food down till last night. Poor kid looks like a chipmunk this morning, but is at least feeling better. He's also enjoying eating nothing but pudding and popsicles.

Hope your son has a better day today, Lisa. Throwing up after having oral surgery is scary.

I would touch base with the surgeon. If it was explosive type vomiting (what a lovely subject), it might have put some pressure on the stitches. Not to scare you, but I think it is worth a call.

MaryAnn, how was your first class yesterday? The dinner last night?

The BP folks may have capped that well, I hope so.

Oh, dear. I hope he is better today! We have been advised to have DS 14's wisdom teeth out before they displace all the orthodontic work we had done, but I just don't know if I can put him through it. He has had a couple of surgeries in the past and he has a HORRIBLE time with anesthesia.

I can remember being sick after I had my wisdom teeth out, too. I can't remember which med they thought it was, but once I stopped taking it I felt better. It may have been the antibiotic. But it may have been the pain meds. Hard to recall that far back!

Lisa - So sorry to hear about your son. Poor guy, bad enough to have your wisdom teeth out and then to get sick on top of it

Sure hope they have that well capped for all those poor folks living down along the coast. So many have already had to suffer because of it - both human and animal.

MaryAnn - Hope your class went well.

GAGWTA ladies.

I called the dental surgeon about the vomiting. He said there was nothing to worry about since the bleeding stopped last night. DS is feeling much better now - eating regularly and rinsing with salt water every few hours. He just isn't happy with the way he looks. I told him it would get better as the week goes on.

Good evening ladies

Lisa - I am sorry to hear your son had such a rough time with his wisdom teeth and glad he is doing better today. I remember being so miserable too. I am sure you will pamper him lots.

Laurie and KJ - thanks for asking about the class. Its all I thought and more.
ds18 is such a great help. When my voice goes he steps in etc. We have 18 kids and 2 teen helpers. The one helper, a swet girl, is mentally challenged, so I try to give her the easy stuff llike hand out papers etc. I just praise God that last year I almost died and now I am here today teaching kids at church. Its a blessing to me. I like being called teacher again. I sure missed that!!

The meeting last night was amazing. The speaker was a guy who owns a cattle ranch near Capetown South Africa. His wife was sweet too. Loved her accent. He gives out bibles around the world. He told us storeis from New Guinea and Pakistan. Also saw the ds 2 pre school teachers. Small world. Didnt know they were going to be there. Sat with my friend with the uterine cancer. She tells dh and I she is having the hernia surgery at my hosp. Ask her what dr. There are 2 I know who would do it. She says Dr. M. I say that is my Dr. !! So I told her what floor to ask for etc. Her surgery will be much worse than mine. He has to use the cancer surgery incision again. Not laprascopic.

Today I went with ds18 for his college physical. Our ped. who is so sweet is the one I believe whos son was smiling on facebook next to the dead body in medical school. He was asking about my cancer. Hmm, guess he heard my bad voice too.

Next friday dh leaves for Russia. I am so not happy and its the wrong ariline for the ff miles no less. We cant choose. Its pouring rain here. We neeed it for sure.

My beloved Yankees have lost their old announcer and now the Boss. Too much. We will be watching the game tonight. hmm I bet Linda and family will too!!

GTAGWTA. Blessings to you all .

MaryAnn, I am glad your DS18 is by your side. He sounds like a wonderful young man. I am glad you are getting to be the teacher. He is helping to make it happen.

I finally turned the corner on my backlog of work AT work. I see where the rest is at least doable. I worked like a bat out of hell yesterday and it paid off. One more day like that, and I have 2 weeks to finish the next big project, and my boss will be in South Carolina for a long trip.

Baby steps but at least in the right direction. It is always like this when DD14 is at camp. I try to work as much as possible while she is away.

Have not heard from Ann in a while, I think she might be at Disney.

Elizabeth, how was your trip? Your trip report for your June report was like a novel. You should get published. I need you to plan my next trip for me.

I am getting immense enjoyment planning Mom's birthday with my sister. We do a lot of laughing. We also keep getting offtrack talking about Disney stuff for her trip there in November. She is not a WDW addict, so it is fun to see her excitement. Her DH is an avid gardener. When she bought a box full of Disney pins from ebay she even found some tomato and watermellon mickey ears. She is having a ball and that excitement is very rewarding for me as well. I leave my pins in my owners locker in Orlando or I would give her most of mine (I don't have that many really). As she won't be able to ride that many rides due to her disability, I hope she gets as much fun out of trading pins as she is getting from the collection part.

Her DH is also a Apple maniac. When I told her about the aps for ride times, etc., we had a huge laugh. He is teasing her about becoming a Disney junkie. The aps might push him over the top as well.

They have apple computers, ipods, itouch iphones and of course the ipad. He truly has cornered the Apple market.

Me, I am in the dark ages, being pulled into the 21st century kicking and screaming.

Every time I have to access my windows based accounting software on my freaking apple computer I feel like running screaming into the night. However, I do appreciate the gigantic screen as I can see those blasted numbers a bit better.

GAGWTA!

GAGWTA, Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well!! :wizard:

Laurie, Kansas was fine. I hated driving up there in the torrential rain, but the drive home was dry. My mom seems to be doing well (depsite her lymphedema) and she seems happy, so that's good. :) It made me laugh - I was shopping with my sister and the lady at Talbot's asked for my phone number. She said "Oh, Dallas. You must be here visiting family." I told my sister I should have said "NO! I always vacation here in Kansas - I don't know anyone who lives here!" :rotfl2:

The party planning sounds wonderful! And Disney planning sprinkled in!

We are all booked for 15 nights concierge at AKV next June, but that's about all we can do until DH locks in his vacation time for 2011. They don't bid for vacation until December. :sad2: Can I just say how happy I am that we aren't hoping to travel in January or February? That would make me crazy to be that close and still not know if he could get the time off! :scared1:

Good afternoon ladies

Sha - I read that story about your bosses friend. Very inspiring. I wil try to watch the local coverage this week end.

Laurie - yes, I am like you so not a techie. Hope the plans for the party turn out great. I am sure your mom will love all you are doing for her. Also sounds like your sis is off to a great vacation planning start.

I am tired. One more day. But today I got a hug from a little boy. So sweet. Going to pick out some stuff tonight for a little goody bag for them . Nothing much. There are 19 of them:scared1: and  and I am on :cloud9: all at the same time. As long as they understand the basic principal of the bible story I will be happy. Like a farmer planting a garden for God.:)

This week end I would like to see The Sorcers Apprentice with dh, but he has his guy in from Germany, so I dont know what we will do. Usually he goes out to dinner alone with him.

GTAGWTA.

Sha - Thanks for the link about Alan. Great story.

Laurie - I love your techie comments. My DD is always saying what a dinosaur I am. I respond with, "I text, I Facebook chat and I own an iPod. What more do you want?!"

jacksgirl - Too funny about Kansas!

LMP - Let me know if you see Sorcerer's Apprentice. I am wondering how good it is.

It's been a crazy week here. I am feeling stronger with each passing day. I restarted my weight training again on Tuesday. It was hard the first two days, but I'm back to my regular workout now. DS is doing much better fromthe dental surgery. He doesn't look so much like a chimpmunk anymore and is eating some different foods.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before on the thread, but a woman I have known for 34 years is battling lung cancer. I have known her since I was 16 and used to babysit for her kids. She has been through multiple rounds of chemo and radiation which has shrunk the non-operable tumors somewhat. However, on her last scan they found two spots on her liver. This news really set her back and she's talking about stopping any further treatment. Her oncologist is in the same group as mine, so I frequently see her when I'm there. They talked her into having a PETscan today and a possible biopsy of the tumor. I am praying she gets some good news and will try the next course of treatment they have planned for her.
