My sweet Snappy doggy had to be stitched up at the vet so she was there over night. I should be able to get her today around noon.

I was beside myself last night. DS20 came home for spring break last night so I was distracted.

Our two dogs got in a fight Wednesday and Snappy lost. We have to be much more vigilant. DD13 was home still with the flu and had them both in the back yard.

We plan to never leave them both in the back together.

I'll let you know how she is doing when I get her home. it was really hard for me to leave her. She was so frightened.

Good afternoon sistas!!

O.K. I am feeling really :sad1::sad1: again

O.K. I just got off the phone talking to the nurse from the endo.. They got my blood work back and my levels were not what they want so they have to change my synthyroid dose, hence new pills, um o.k. but do they realize each co-pay I have is $25. I said what am I suppose to do with all these pills I have? She said save them since your dose could change again etc. o.K. She was a nice nurse.

Now I called back the rad onc. and got nurse Gum Chewer/snippy attitude again. She said who told you your radiation would be the week of april 20th? I said my dh and I both sat with the dr. and she wrote it in her book, Snippy says, well that might just be tentative, I will have to ask her as SHE is the only one who makes the final decision and she has to talk to your surgeon and I said I went to the surgeon last week, he said the wound is good and she told me she was talking to him etc. So now I dont know WHEN the radiation will be again. The dr. is leaving for Passover etc. this afternoon, my dh is going to canada May 3, so it cant be around then. I am sick and tired of waiting and being treated like this. She said she will call me back by 5 after talking to the dr. Maybe they would treat me differently if I didnt have this new surgical complication as things were already well planned last time. I am just so dissappointed in all of this, Honestly Iif I could choose a different doctor I would. I am going to have a big talk with the ENT surgeon, not the surgeon I am talking about, that is the hernia surgeon. The Ent surgeon is the one who told me to go to this radiation oncologist. I did see on the hosp. web site there is the Korean doctor who deals with thyroid cancer too, so I am going to inquire about him and his manner etc. They must have a good manner for me to deal with them, I dont want someone all business etc. And his nurse is the nice one for sure.

Enough of the medical stuff. I drove ds to get the flowers for his prom date. This year we went to a different place. Last year when the girl was dancing the flowers came off one by one. Ds said it was hysterical. This yeer its a new girl and a new florist so we will see. They did a nice job. Its carnations, the girl asked for that and they spray painted them off white with a nice ribbon etc.

Has Linda been posting? I was thinking of her since oldest ds is going up to Boston on Mon. with his friends for Spring Break. I told him to please leave his Yankees shirts at home. They want to either see a baseball or basketball game and go to some place they saw on the Food Channel or something like that that has a $30 burger?

Laurie - I hope Snappy dog is better real soon.

Hope you all have a good week end. I feel like seeing a movie but doubt that will happen etc.

Blessings to you all.

LMP, getting the right synthroid dose is tricky. I think mine was changed at least 6 times, perhaps more. It does seem wasteful, doesn't it. Each increase for me was slight, as they narrow in on the right dosage.

It does not seem they left you long at that dosage? I would think it would have hardly had time to kick in.

Snappy and I are home. She did well, but I can tell you I did not get much sleep last night with worrying.

She seems much better than when we brought her. I really wished I had gotten her to the vet right when it happened.

The wound woud not have had to be debrided.

Really liked the young new vet. So throrough. She asked me one thing that seemed strange, if I check Snappy for lumps. I cam going to have to ask here exactly where to check when I bring her in to get the sutures out. All I could think of was a self administered breast exam.

Oh boy!

GAGWTA

Have been following along but not a lot of time to post. DS's first AAU baseball season has started after a long winter of hard work. It's been fun, but busy. Lots to do (Team Mom/nurse/photographer, LOL) but loving it. The boys look great in their spanking new uniforms. Work has been busy, too. Wish us luck, builder is (finally) supposed to be coming over next week.

Laurie, so sorry about Snappy. Give her a hug for me. Naughty Raj.

LMP, my son sometimes wears his Yankee shirt, we like them too. :thumbsup2 He should be ok. I believe Opening Day is Monday and it's next to impossible to get tix even for us here. I hope he has fun, let me know how the burger is.

Getting the hairy eyeball, gotta go. Love to you all.

I received an email back from the owner we are renting Bonnet Creek for part of our May trip.

Naturally there are units available in late September/ early Ocotober, in the Orlando RFTC time frame.

I am tentatively thinking of booking either a 6 night trip starting Tuesday, September 29th or 5 nights starting Wednesday the 30th. I am leaning towards the 5 nights starting Wednesday.

His price is very reasonable, $120 a night for a 2 br. Once we get within the 60 window, depending on availability he may be able to rebook and get it for $100/ night.

For our May trip we were able to get the within 60 day window price of $120 in whatever season May is in.

The 1 Br is even lower, $90 at today's rates, $75 if he can rebook within 60 days.

Since this is a rental there are no taxes, etc. He even agreed to waive the booking fee due to the nature of the trip.

Pretty neat guy, I think.

Anyway, I am throwing this out there to see if anyone is interested. I am still not sure I am going. But if several of us shared the 2 BR, it would be very economical.

I know how hard it is to plan this far in advance, so no pressure from me on this. I also know this time frame is not long after kids return to school in some areas.

I will say I have had a remarkable time the past two years meeting some of you for this event, Laura, Alison (who we have not heard drom in awhile), Ann and her sisters, Sharon and her mother. It was the ultimate reunion on many levels

If you can make it even only for the weekend, let me know, especially those of you living nearby or somewhat nearby like Sharon and Maureen.

I need to return to work on Tuesday so I plan to return home on Monday, Oct 5. The race in Sunday, Oct 4.

I can't wait to check out Bonnet Creek. I will indeed give y'all a trip report when we return from our May trip.

HI! Tell me more about the RFTC! Can we walk, do we have to run, how long is it, how much does it cost, how much do we have to raise, etc? I would be very interested in coming up to Orlando for this. And I would love to meet up. I am not familiar with the walks/runs, etc.

Hope all are doing well. I had to get my second iron shot in my behind ;) today and all I can say is OUCH!

Great pictures but man the jargon is definitely over my head. What a wonderful eye you have for capturing the essence of WDW. The sights of WDW far outway the attractions for me. Also, chatting with other guests is up there. I never get enough of that.

I hope your son has a wonderful season.

What fun!!!

Maureen, I am not a purist. First of all I walk, and both times I did the Orlando race I did the 1 mile fun run, there is also a 5 k Walk. Lots of people walk. The true runners go first.

This is a big race. We waited for awhile to start so there is no reason to rush to the starting area. This past year there was a great survivors tent area with tables and chairs and snacks. It was very comfortable.

I am also not a purist with the raising of money. The entry fee is $25 or so and you sign up on the website. You can certainly raise more if you so desire. If you preregister, a packet is waiting for you which is good because you have to be at the Wide world of Sports pretty early. I think we left the boardwalk around 6:30 in the am.

You have to go early because there are so many participating that it takes quite a while for everyone to park and get their packets.

So I basically take an easygoing approach to this. It is more a justification for going to WDW and seeing (hopefully) some of you ladies.

In 2007 the race was held on my birthday. I received a really neat birthday card from the Komen people. They made a deal about it at Wilderness Lodge and also at Califiornia Grill. Man, I thought I was too special.

It was almost worth having a birthday over but not quite.

Having some hot boiled crawfish for dinner. Ah, the sacrifices we make for Lent.

Thanks Linda. Yes, Naj is personna non gratis around these parts. I would have to say she is in time out.

Well, I officially cancelled our nights at Pop. Bonnet Creek better be good!!

It sounds like a great way to celebrate being in front of the cancer...after all the treatment I have gone through! I am going to plan on being there. We were going to Orlando the end of September but I think I will plan for that weekend. I am planning on booking the Bay Lake (to see if I can convince my hubby to BUY). Anyway, I am booking a one bedroom so maybe we can have a little party there! I have to make sure to get a magic kingdom view! Or we can meet for breakfast...I am game for anything!

I can't wait to see you again Laurie!

Oh wow, Bay Lake!!

You know how to plan a party!

It is also a good time with the food and wine festival. DH and I had a lot of fun boozing it up last year.

You know they just sweetened the incentives at Bay Lake. I think the price with incentives is either $96 or $98 per point.

I think that Bay Lake is going to awesome. I have a 1 bedroom booked there for Chirstmas (weekend before). Hoping my sister will take some time and come down that weekend. Castle view... I literally was bouncing as I went to tell mom.

Oh... Mickey says to tell you "Hi ya Pal"

Sharon, you rascal, no wonder you are low on points. Christmas with BLT and a Castle view. How in the world did you get that reservation?

I am thinking I need to get with the program and make some crawfish ettoufee for this party and put it in the freezer.

A little local color so y'all can see what I am talking about.

Any other requests?

If we have a full kitchen the sky is the limit. Bay Lake tower trumps Bonnet Creek big time.

But maybe we can have a party in the low rent section too?

Bonnet Creek is beautiful! We can do it there! My husband is so against buying DVC and I am trying so hard to convince him. THere is a possiblity that I may get laid off by years end so IF that happens the only bay lake I'll be on is the local pond by my house!:lmao: Either way, it will be cool to meet up. And the race will be sort of a graduation. Last year I was too weak to do it.:woohoo::yay:

Hooray for graduating!

I hope you plan on bringing you DH and daughter and sons. My DH went last year. I think he got a kick out of being the only male in our merry little band.

Yes we can do the party at Bonnet Creek. I have not booked it yet but I'll probably go with the 2br since the price differential is so small.

I actually have to to mention all my plans to DH this year, but I guess after 2 years running with me going, and the fact that he knows me well after 40 years, he may have put two and two together by now.

So have you stayed or visitied at Bonnet Creek?

I have not visited but heard nice things. My daughter is already excited about the event. She wants to make pink tee-shirts to match. She is so cute! We went to see Monsters vs. Aliens today at the IMAX theater, just she and I. I got to thinking that I am just now starting to get back to normal. Last year I did not do much with her at all. Of course I fell asleep during the movie today but noone knew because I had the three D glasses on!:rolleyes1

Funny that you mention how your husband will figure it out. My husband also goes along with all my disney plans. He likes disney but I wouldn't say he loves it. I think we are lucky that they accept it so well.

So you are there now? Where are you staying?

Mom and I bought in on our joint contract to BLT earlier this year (just before the end of the Developer points they gave for matching purchase). I was wait-listed for the castle view for the weekend I wanted. They had opened it up a little earlier for the owners there to start reserving the rooms. I didn't realize it, but worked out in the long run. I am low on points in my own account! as in I can't book anything until my 2009 use year starts, or if it is after that date, where it can use points from 2010.

I was there when I posted that. Was at OKW, but am home now. Wonderful weather!

Do any of you get the Celebrations magazine???

If you can get past the photography jargon :lmao: you might enjoy some of my pictures, finally done.

You are SO talented. Honestly, you could quit nursing and make a fortune taking photographs for media outlets and books. They are spectacular!:thumbsup2
So creative and different than the average photos. I am so impressed. I especially enjoyed the animal kingdom shots. Wow!

Yes! You are VERY talented! And I find your photos inspiring me!!!

The dues are lower too because of less ground coverage. Unlike SSR or AK where it spreads out, Bay Lake just goes up.
