I just finished the book Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik and loved the idea of it! I have never been a part of a book club that got anywhere beyond, "Hey, we should form a book club," and this book encouraged me to take another stab at it. In the book, the women came together to discuss the book they were all reading/had finished. Each time a different person would pick what the selection would be bringing variety to the group.

I would love to take another stab at the book club thing with some of my DIS friends, and am wondering if anybody out there would be interested in joining me. We could figure out the technicalities together and really get this thing rolling!

Respond here and/or PM me if you are interested!

I read Lorna Landvik's latest novel, I loved it. What a gem. I've read all the books she has written, I liked Angry Housewives best of all.

I would be interested in a book club. We did try and get this off the ground when I first joined the DIS back in 1998, but it never really came to be. I'm all for giving it another go and would do my part to help promote it.

If I may make a suggestion, perhaps change the title of this thread to include reading in the subject line? People may miss the thread all together since its not in the subject line., lots of folks deliberately skip threads that are "teasers".

Who else is in?

I am definitely for it. I've wanted to join a book club, but didn't want to add another "commitment" to my schedule. Having a cyber club would be perfect. Count me in.

I'll starting thinking logistics while we wait and see who else jumps in.

Looks good! We've got three names down so far! And I was so afraid this thread would be a total flop! I've been trying to add "we should have a DIS book club" to all posts that involve books.

I love thinking and organizing and planning, too, cherita. We will have a fun time no matter what, even if it is just the three of us!

I love to read and have also always wanted to join a book club. This sounds like great fun.

Thanks,
Christine

I love to read and I would be interested in the club. I'll be away from my PC for a few weeks but it'll be interesting to see how this develops.

I would also like to join the book club. I have a busy schedule, but I think this is something I could commit to.

I'd be interested in a book club.As long as we get a variety of books selected. I'm in a Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb mode right now, but always looking for good books.

I would be very interested in a cyber book club. Let me know what the first book is and I am there!

I may be interested as well.

I'd like to try all types of genres as well.

I would love to join a book club. I read ALL the time. So it would nice to be able to discuss with other people.

I like all kinds of books.

Come one, come all! Join on the DIS Book Club Bandwagon!

Lookin' great already, lots of people (who sound like they are ready for a fun experience!) are signing up!

Excellent! The change in subject line really draws people in! :)

Lets keep this one bumped for a couple of days, and then perhaps choose our first book?

Oh please count me in!!! I love books and always have a hard time finding one to enjoy!!
