DIS Book Club, 1st Selection: Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi

I vote for the Jane Austen Book Club.

I haven't bought my book yet. Am going to the mall next week. I'll see if I can find it there. If not, there is a little second hand bookstore that might can order it for me. I'm a fast reader so I can catch up.

Is there a reading schedule posted? Maybe I missed it?

Kirby - There is a reading schedule on this thread, you just will need to go back to get it...

According to my pages, it is on page five, along with other stuff to know. I don't know if everybody's computers show the same number of posts per page? I'm guessing so, so check page five! Then hop over to the discussion thread once you get the book. It is very good so far!

Look forward to hearing from you and everybody soon!

Now back to packing (ugh),

Did we decide not to have chat on the book tonight? Just wondering, I went and didn't see anyone.

Thanks,
Christine

I vote for Jane Austen Book Club. I STILL haven't gotten the Lolita book in the mail (ordered it online at B & N). I will have a lot of catching up to do when it finally comes!!

Sorry about chat tonight, Christine. My computer was down most of the night and I was on the phone with the cable company trying to get internet working again. I would love to meet in chat tomorrow night if anybody is interested, otherwise we can discuss two books at once at the next chat. I went into chat early, and then after that my comp was down, so it wasn't like I wasn't thinking of you!

Hopefully I'll see you on the discussion thread, that's where I'm headed next!

Finally got the book today! Just a question about the chats, how exactly do they work? Will it be listed on the Community Board, do you have to register or anything? Sorry so many questions, but I've never participated in one before. I'm hoping to have caught up by the next one and would love to be in on it.
Thanks for any help!

We should have a set time that we will meet in chats on chat days. I think that 8 or 9 o' clock CST would be good since it is not too late on the East coast and not to early on the West. Then, all you do is go in, put in your user name, or any name that will fit in the box (mine doesn't fit, so I always type in LilMsMick) and your password. Then, you are in! There are a few different ones, and we'll be in whichever one is empty when we get there!

Very easy! PM me if you have any questions.

Finally got my book today. I'm not sure when I will join in the discussion though. I'm currently reading The Runaway Quilt, An Elm Creek Quilts novel by Jennifer Chiaverini. I love this series!

I've never participated in chat before. Is it really as easy as it sounds?

Also, another question, which may have already been answered. When will we find out what the next book is? I'd like to try and get it a little before time so I can have it when we begin.

I missed this the first time, somehow, but would love to join a book club as well.

Is it too late to join ?

So I guess its the Jane Austen Book Club for the next book, since that had the most votes.

I really promise to devote more time to Lolita this weekend. Life has been so busy I haven't been able to, hence my lack of discussion.

I'm excited to go get this one! I looked at it at the bookstore after and it just looks like a great read! Maybe I have to go shopping this afternoon...

Anyway, hope to see more of you over on the discussion boards! It is never too late to join in the fun!
