DIS Boards Northern Meet

As a lot of us Northern people have missed out on the meet on the weekend, I thought we should have another go at organizing one in the north of the country. I won't be able to commit to anything specific for at least another two weeks, but I thought we might as well get some idea as to what month would suit people best.

I haven't voted as the only thing that would stop me from attending would be work - and as I a shift worker it would be 50/50 regardless of the month.
Will you also be doing a poll for location - or do you have somewhere in mind already?

I went for September, only because I have the girly weekend in October and then the Christmas build up from November on-wards. But, I probably can make the other months too if it's different from my choice

Yes, I intend to post a poll for the location further down the line as well. First of all, I want to see though if we can find a months that would work for people.

I understand the problem with shifts. Once the new rota is out, I will work 2 weekends in 4 as opposed to 2.5 in 9.

From an organisational point of view I thought you did very well Rachel. You had a date and venue sorted based on the polls and opinions of others - you couldnt' do any more than that.

The only reason I had to cancel that one was because I got a new job and was working the weekend it was scheduled for - even though I voted for that one based on the job I was in at the time the poll was running

Thanks Kenny! I really do hope us Northern lot can get together, I think it'd be great for us to be able to show off some pictures of us all together too. It looks like they all had a great time at Tony's.

I'd love to tag along, but were in the process of trying to arrange the babys christening for August/Sept, Harriet starting high school in Sept, Molls bday in November)etc, etc, I can't really commit to a date yet as i'd hate to say yes then have to pull out, but if were free, we'd love to join in if possible

I have not really given it much thought. Last time we were looking at Manchester and this would be easiest for me to organize as I live here, but I am open to travelling anywhere in the north.

I am in the same situation. We are heading to Disneyland, go on a cruise and then have our vow renewal during that time frame.
