More than meets the eyes!
That was for my boys and all you Transformers fans (you know who you are).
With 13 days to go, I thought it best to begin this pre-trip report. According to Fuzzy Disney Math (FDM) I only have about 4 days left since I have one paycheck remaining before the trip and we don't count today, the day we leave, the day before we leave, and weekends. Oh, my children track out of school next week (year round) and are going to grandaddy's for the week, so that's a little vacation before the vacation; therefore, only 4 more days!!!
Now, the reason for the title:
1. It's funny.
2. It's creative.
3. In looking over the clothing for this trip, I notice that most of the lime green has disappeared from our wardrobe. But with lime being so popular, we can't readily spot DISers. AND how many DISers don't even wear lime green? How many of us are DIS Boarders, Tourists in Disguise?
So on with some history. In March 2006, I decided that this would be the year to finally take my family to the World. (My children were having a really stressful school year: bullying, bad teacher, etc so now was a good time.) Since I had been twice in the 70's and once in 1986, that made me an expert.
I really really wanted to stay on site at the CR or the tree houses. Whew, was I ever smacked into next week with some sticker shock!!! We ended up staying off site at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird (pass judgement if you will) and still had a wonderful trip! My DH only wanted to go for 5 days because he didn't know he would have so much fun.
Well, I planned that trip in two weeks, we all fell in love with Disney, and this will be our 5th trip in 17 months. We went last year during free dining, and were joined by 6 of the in-laws.
You can read all about the 2006 Summer Sanitarium Tour over on the completed TR board. That trip was last August, but was supposed to be a September birthday trip but was moved so that the poor unfortunate cousins could join us. We decided to go again 3 weeks later in September. WE experienced Easter with the Mouse this year, and experienced the DVC by renting points, Even though I haven't gotten to this in my incomplete trip report, we are now proud owners of our % of the interest at AKV!
The timing of this upcoming trip was a bit tricky. We only planned to go if free dining was announced. However, my children's school was one of the 44 in our county to be converted to year round. We had to select our track preference at the beginning of March. We choose one of the two tracks that fell in the middle of the free dining for last year. Yes, we selected a school calendar based soley on Disney trips.
Anyhow, it all worked out great, and we will be there 8/25-9/4. We are staying at POR (even though I still need my CR fix) and then moving over to VWL for the last two nights because AKV was all booked. However, this is one part of the trip that still isn't finalized. Should we use points to stay at CR MK view instead of VWL? WL is my "yes, I'd like to stay there someday" while CR is my "I wish we could stay there this trip" place which I say every trip. You know, if we added up all the $$ we have spent for the 5 trips, we could have just stayed at the CR.
But we like to go more often. So, the decision: should we or should we not stay at the CR using DVC points? It would be the $ equivalent of using a 40% off code. Oh and let me point out that I know about the CR DVC rumor, but I don't want to wait two or so years.
Up Next: The cast and the reason for this particular week in August.

DS9 is very sweet and very smart. He gets focused on one topic and has trouble redirecting to another topic. Sort of like how I am with Disney.
Anyhow, DS9 will just blurt out whatever is on him mind. Sometimes it's not funny, but sometimes it is. Like when we are walking through the FP line, he will bellow, "don't those people know how to use the FP machines?"
Yes, my goal was to have 50 gone by this trip especially since I promised the Loud children that we would hit the water parks this time. July was not very diet friendly for me. I fell off the wagon two weekends, and my mom had surgery, so I ate out a lot. I tried to make good choices but.....oh and let's through in some PMS munchies....oh and I started exercising so I guess I gained some muscle mass. I used to speed skate, so I had some serious thunder thighs. I knew when I started to exercise that those big muscles would come back. Let's see, thunder thighs or heart attack? So, I'm now back in the groove, I ride the exercise bike 13 miles everyday, and I am feeling healthier and happier. Wow, this certainly turned into the "me" show.
I also wanted to splurge on the Poly, but then our fridge died. No Poly.
