Dis board shorthand confusion

Ok. I am relatively new to the boards. And also new to internet discussion boards in general. But I am totally lost.

Many of the posts I read contain shorthand abbreviations for all sorts of things. I guess I am old fashioned in writing ever word out fully, even when texting on my phone. So I am totally confused.

My question for the board: Is there any documented standard for abbreviations? A Page on the boards that willl tell me what each abbreviation stands for?

I can figure many based on context or are just easy like MK, but I am often totally lost. Help!

As for the texting thing, yeah, my kids and I spell everything out. Easy for them with qwerty keyboards, not so easy for me with the old-fashioned type...plus, my phone is tiny, and my thumbs are huge.
