Rickard's Honey Brown
John Labatt's Classic

From Belgium;
Stella Artois

Denmark;

"Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore!"

Another good Belgium beer is Delirium Tremens!
Find it, love it.
Probably my favorite at the moment, a nice blond beer that is just packed with flavor.

Dortmunder Ale from Great Lakes Brewery, Cleveland, Ohio (a microbrew) is my favorite. :drinking1

Oh my God! I can't believe someone said this! I lived in the Cleveland area for 3 years back in the late 90's, and Dortmunder Gold was my absolute favorite. And when I wanted variety I'd get it as part of a "Black and Gold" with Guinness.

I usually love ales, the more bitter the better. I may be stating the obvious, but I love Red Hook ESB out of Seattle. I also love John Courage, a Brit import.

When I lived in Cleveland Heights my favorite bar, the Winking Lizard, had a World Tour of Beer -- we had 6 months to drink 90+ different beers, each kind they stocked. 90 beers in 180 days doesn't sound like much of a challenge, but when you're married and have a time-consuming white collar job it's pretty tough. Anyway, I'm proud to say I don't remember too many of those beers, for obvious reasons :rotfl: . I DO recall that I'm not fond of the Belgian beers, or wheat beers, and Guinness is about the only porter or stout I can enjoy. Give me any decent IPA and I'm happy. If you serve me a typical lager I'd probably prefer a glass of ice water instead.

Beer snob ... GUILTY!

With a DIS name of CleveRocks I would hope you like or at least tried Dortmunder. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I am myself a born and raised Clevelander transplanted here in the middle of Indiana. My younger brother for a couple of years (in the mid-late 90s!) was the restaurant manager at Great Lakes Brewery. I worked at UH just down the hill from the Lizard and what I remember about that place was they had great hot wings! If I can't be a beer snob, I would settle for a Labatts, Heinken, or a Rolling Rock. . . :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

My favorite is a "Golden" at the Rose & Crown in the UK.
It is a Bass and Harp mix. MMMM
Great with the fish and chips.
Unfortunately missing the Ringness beer in Norway as they don't serve that any longer since Carlsbad bought someone out or something.

any chimay from belgium..made by monks....the grand reserve is the best
hopdevil from victory brewing in downingtown pa...... a great I.P.A
ipswitch from the boston area makes a great nutbrown ale
celis white makes a good and affordable wheat

Guinness.

I had some good Shiner Bock last night at the Blues Traveler concert here. Or maybe it was the music...

I'll try to add your "Beer Snob" image to my sig, see if it works...

One of my current favorite beers is Terrapin Rye. Terrapin is a microbrewery from Athens, GA-- the beer is starting to gain popularity so it can be found in a lot of places now.

I also really like Flying Dog Wheat and Stella Artois.

I'm really not much of a beer snob (I'll drink just about any beer!), but my brother and my husband are a bit more particular about their drinks, so I get to try a lot that way. ;)

My favorite has to be the Carmel Porter from Sarnac...Mmmmmmmmmmm :drinking1
Also we have a microbrewery here called DuClaw
which has another of my favorite called Nakedfish which is a stout
just have to have those dark beers

I am big Rogues fan. My favorite being Dead Guy Ale. You used to be able to get it on tap here in Dayton, but no longer. :sad2:

I also love their Amber and they have a red that is seasonal here that is out of this world!!

My fiance and his dad home brew, so we are always trying new beers! They have a "No Doubt Stout" that is to die for!!

Mmmm....8:55 am and I'm ready for a beer!! :rotfl:

Amen to Great Lakes Brewery-dh especially likes the Dortmunder Gold  . We moved to Texas 3 years ago and miss Great Lakes. Dh can't get into the Shiner thing here so he drinks German imports. Every time we're back in Ohio or relatives visit we get 6 packs :teeth: . Wish we could get it here.

My wife worked at UH, Rainbow to be exact. That's why we moved to Cleveland Heights from Philadelphia. Living within walking distance from the Winking Lizard was a beautiful thing. Yes, I liked the wings there, but the ribs were better. For wings I usually went around the corner to BW-3.

Also...
I forgot all about Shiner Bock. A great bartender introduced me to it when I first traveled to Texas (San Antonio) back in '94. Anytime I happen to see it anywhere I grab it. Shiner Bock is one of my best memories of the River Walk.

I am an amateur beer snob, but my husband is a real one. I was hoping for a Beligian beer tasting last week when I visited the beer and wine festival. The Samuel Adams 10th Anniversary festival was pretty outstanding though!!!

(1) Fullers ESB on tap -- has to be my favorite barenone. Very difficult to find on tap.
(2) Bar Harbor Cadillac Moutain Stout (or as we say it Bah Habah)
(3) Sam Adams Cherry Wheat [not too exotic but great in the summer heat]

And its always a lovely day for a Guinness! [again on tap]

Thanks for the siggy!

And my favorite beer is Weihenstephaner. Anyhoo, great beer! Lots of flavor, not a trace of bitterness or bite. According to the label, this is the world's oldest brewery (since 1040!). I guess they must be doing something right! lol

For what it's worth, the label also says it is a Hefe Weissbier, Bavarian Style.

Since starting to drink the Weissbiers, I have shunned all others. They're so good. Ahhhh! :drinking:

Ooh, just had to add that the Hacker-Pschorr Octoberfest beer is pretty good, too, but not quite as good as the Weihenstephaner.

Life is too short to drink cheap beer! I'll be having a few in a few weeks.
