Hi! Marcm from the VMK board posted and said that he was making a room for Aspergers on the game, and it got me thinking "Are there other people, like me and Marcm who have AS too?"

So this is why I am posting here! Are there are any more DIS aspergurs or DIS Moms/Dads of Aspergers? I would like to see if there are any.

I am an Asperger, and so is my brother. It's pretty much my strength in life, as I can see the world in a new way! :)

Edit: I was diagonosed since 5 years old. Weird how they spotted it early?

Hi,
My son who is 16 in January has Aspergers,he was 'diagnosed' when he was 10.
Life is very difficult for him though as he has 'anger management' issues :guilty:

You sound as if you have a very postive outlook on life, that's great :wave2:

Hi pokemon_master :wave2:

My son who is 8 has high functioning autism he also has dyspraxia and I suspect depression will be a big issue for him as he gets older :guilty: He likes Stitch and American Dragon but Kim Possible is his favorite show at the moment. He is also into Yu-Gi-Oh big time

My daughter who is 7 has Aspergers, like you she has a more positive view of life - she loves WDW, Minnie Mouse and Jasmine. They are both into pin collecting and love trading with CM's at WDW.

I am sure there are many more people who will post on this thread

Sorry to hear about kids with difficulties, hope they feel as happy as I do one day! :)

I was thought to be dyslexic too, but it turned out that I had bad handwriting. My parents thought that I had anger management, but I think that was due to mood swings instead of AS.

Still, hope they feel happier one day! :)

Hi
i work as a support worker in a high school for autistic/aspergers kids.
my son who is now 22 has asperger syndrome.he was eventually diagnosed at 16.

Hi im the mum of a 12 year old ds who has aspergers .I was very lucky in having a health visiter who beiieved me when i said there was something wrong when he was a baby and he was diagnosed at age 3. He has problems coping with his emotions but is obsessed with space and loves star wars and mission space! I loved WDW as he appeared so much less "disabled" and more able to cpoe with life,i suppose because so many other kids were so excited too. Gill

Hi Pokemon Master

I've "seen" you on the Disneyland Paris board before - and you are always such a happy soul! My DS is 11 and is diagnosed as having AS and ADD. I always knew that my DS was not a typical child, he is very bright and doesn't have learning difficulties.

DS loves anything with a screen and always has. It is very difficult to get him to come off the PC - even though he has a Gameboy and a Playstation. We are going to DLRP next month and a fellow DISer is kindly sending him a Lanyard and Pin to start trading with..(I sense a new obsession coming!)

We love DS as he is, he has a great sense of humour, is kind and generous and mostly happy. Good luck with the new room, I know a few AS boys who are heavily into Runescape (including my DS). I'll have to take a peep when I'm next allowed on the PC!

I love anything with a screen too! lol And I really only posted on the DLP board once, that's about it! lol

I do have a friend who is v.bright and an AS too. He has an IQ of around 160 or 170 I think... But he's not very good at simple logic though, and that's kinda wierd as he can pretty much do anything without thinking too hard about it, except Business Studies, which he can't understand because of the fact that you can't prove Business theory with a scientific experiment. He just about scrappeed an A in that subject by heavily revised...

Our Chemistry A-Level teacher loves to ask him the really hard bits of chemistry to try and catch him out, which always works because our teacher has a doctrine, so he knows pratically everything about chemistry!

Our Chemistry teacher is as eccentric as me, but smarter! lol
