Dirty Dishes in sink or next to sink?

Left sink, the right has the disposal an is for rinsing. PLEASE RINSE BEFORE PUTTING DISHES IN SINK!!!!!!!!!!!!.

1 Good reason not to put dishes on right side is to keep silverware from getting eaten by the disposal.

If I haven't gotten around to unloading the dishwasher I'm using a paper plate.

:lmao:

... I hate when I go in to someones house & there are dirty dishes on the counter or in the sink. It makes me feel like their house in not clean...

Then you'd be miserable in my house, because my answer to the OP is -

to the left of my sink. (And there are several items there right now.) I only have a single basin, and having stuff in the way of drawing water bothers me more than having things on the counter.

I'm another who figures that the dishes will be there in a few minutes (or a few hours) when I get to them, but kids grow up in what feels like seconds. If I had "chosen" the dishes this morning, we would have missed our train and a lovely day in the city.

Love the snark, but it remains a fact, there is time, you just choose other things as a priority. I, on the other hand, will never & have never left dirty dishes. I hate when I go in to someones house & there are dirty dishes on the counter or in the sink. It makes me feel like their house in not clean. I wash my pots and pans as I cook so they are clean before we sit for dinner. It makes ME feel better if my kitchen is clean. I have more kids than you, so please don't try to pull that card.

Hmmm...

Not only are my kids & husband more important than dishes in the sink or an unloaded dishwasher, sometimes *gasp* I am more important than dishes in the sink.

And, sometimes, there are just other things I'd rather do than unload the dishwasher or wash the pots & pans. So, for a while, the dishwasher stays loaded w/ clean dishes & dirty dishes sit in the sink waiting to go in the dishwasher. It happens.

We live in a real house.

If I step in a pile of pet poo - then I probably think your house might not be very clean!

Dishes aren't even a blip on my radar.

Toilet paper unrolling under? Well I don't know how anyone can live in conditions like that!!! :0

Everyone knows the paper goes over the top of the roll.

I put dirty dishes in the sink if the dishwasher is running. I try to run it and empty it before going to bed but my husband always puts his breakfast dishes in the sink no matter what. When he comes home from work he also puts his lunch dishes in the sink. He does put his dinner plate in the dishwasher, though. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Naw, they're not sturdy enough. I'm killing the planet and using Styrofoam! :-D

(Before y'all roast, flambe and BBQ me, I breastfed & cloth diapered 3 children. I don't really use paper or Styrofoam.)

In the left side of the sink.... which is the same side as the disposal in this house anyway.... because I don't want food scraps falling down the non disposal side. It never occurred to me before to avoid the disposal side due to silverware getting munched.....

Well you are right. There is always time. I just choose other things as my priority. We run our dishwasher 3-4 times a day. There are almost ALWAYS dishes in our sink. Sometimes they even overflow on to the counter- so OP, we do both.:rotfl2::rotfl2: For me I think - Big whoop! I would rather blow bubbles outside, play princesses or pirates, give my full attention to my child playing their instrument or simply just sit and talk with them. My dishes will always be there. Just like the laundry. Everyone is welcome in my home. All of their (and my) friends have seen it in many conditions. ;) Most days it neat and clean. My bathrooms are always wiped down etc. but I am not even going to try and win the good housekeeping award with a super spotless home. We LIVE in our home. Thankfully their friends still want to keep coming here and my friends could give a flying fig about my sink. They are coming to see ME. :lovestruc So while I think it is great that you clean every little thing up because it is important to YOU that doesn't minimize the things that are a priority to others. JMHO.

We are fortunate to have two dishwashers in our house. So, we are able to start loading the second dishwasher while the first one is running. We have virtually no excuse to leave dishes in the sink. Even so, we leave a few dishes in the sink (or sometimes next to it) occasionally. :rolleyes1 Sometimes we have more important things to do. :confused3 Bad me.

As a person under the dominion of a toilet paper-loving cat, I keep my TP under out of necessity. If you ever come to visit and change it, fair warning you'll be cleaning up the mess in the bathroom (assuming you're not talking about an empty roll). :)

:lmao: oh wow I never thought of that! Thanks for the heads up. I will only change it to "over" if the ppl I'm visiting don't have cats. :teeth: :rotfl:
