The following are the directions from WDW to VB on the DVC web site:

From Walt Disney World Resort (Via I-95 South)

Take I-4 East to Beeline (528) toll road.
Take the Beeline (528) toll road east to I-95 South.
Follow I-95 South to 512 East - exit 156 Sebastian/Fellsmere.
Turn left/east on 512 to US 1 (6.5 miles).
Turn right/south on US 1 to 510 (4.5 miles).
Turn left/east on 510 to A-1-A (2.5 miles).
Turn right on A-1-A.
The resort is immediately on the left.

Is this the best route to go? Thanks.

That is how most people go I think.

We're not in any hurry and prefer to take 528 past 95 to Rt 1 and cross over to 1A going through the Merritt Island where we always do the Refuge driving tour. One year saw a Florida Panther there. Then we take 1A down to VB. On the way you get to see the other ocean towns like Cocoa, Satellite, Melbourne, etc. Also, need to make a stop at Ron Jons Surf Shop along the way.

The drive is maybe 30-40 minutes longer, but we enjoy it.

Last time we took 417 (instead of I4) to 528. 528 has been renamed from "Beeline" to "Beachline" so don't let that confuse you. Took us about 1hr 45minutes to get from WDW to Vero.

Another option on a nice day, if you are leaving from WDW, is to take Florida's Turnpike to the SR-60 exit. You then drive straight across to Vero. I don't have the exact directions but you find your way to A1A (the road that runs along the coast) and drive back up to the Disney Vero Resort.

Be aware that on either route, once you leave the Orlando area it gets pretty desolate until you hit the coast.

Pam is right, as usual. The ride over to the coast is quite desolate and seems to take forever, but once on the coast it is a fun, easy ride down to VB. We still prefer it.

We were at VB during Labor Day and enjoyed it.. We live in the Tampa Bay area and took SR-60...I found it to be a straight shot with nothing but cow pastures for scenery...

I rarely get lost but did so going to Vero, went too far south. Then had a hard time backtracking.:headache:
