Directions to OKW?

Hi everyone! We just made reservations for some friends of ours to stay at OKW next week and I wanted to give them better directions than how we get there (our approach is..."um, what exit should we take?", "what exit do you want to take?", "well, should we head for downtown disney?", "lets take the mk exit and go through the big gate"). Our friends are not WDW geeks like us and I don't think they'd be as amused as we are by driving in circles around WDW as soon as they arrive. I know its usually on the confirmation, but the confirmation won't get here before they leave.

So anyway, they'll be coming down I-4. Any good simple directions would be helpful.

Take the first exit off of I-4 for Epcot....cannot remember the new exit numbers since they changed them all about 2yrs ago...it used to be 26B but it's the first of the Main Park exits and clearly marked If you go through the Epcot exit there are signs clearly marked for OKW and all the resorts and OKW is very easy to get to and close from there.

I am almost sure its exit 68 now, for rt. 535. at the end of ramp take a right at lights then work your way over to left lane for left turn at next set of lights. that will be hotel plaza boulvard. when you get to lights by downtown disney that will be beuna vista drive, turn right. follow that road for a little ways, you will see saratoga springs on left, take next left that will be disney vacation club way.old key west will be on your left peninsular road. have fun.

oh and there is a gate at entrance to hotel plaza boulvard so you can see mickey there

I am glad everyone remembers the roads and exits. I can never remember them.

I've always followed the Downtown Disney Signs, knowing eventually the Old Key West signs would appear. Rocket science at its best.

If you plug 1510 North Cove Rd., Lake Buena Vista, FL, into Mapquest.com, it will give you detailed directions and/or a map right to the HH.

Between what Scoootch and goofeydec said you have two ways into OKW. Goofeydec is taking you in past Goodings (on 535) and DD. I like the other way - take exit 67 (536) towards Epcot. Once off I-4 you can take the first exit which gets you on Bonnet Creek Parkway. From there you go straight for OKW or right to Typhoon Lagoon and DD. What I like to do is pass this one and the next exit, which I believe says Epcot resorts and your going the wrong direction, and take the third exit which says OKW and will take you to the light at the intersection of Bonnet Creek Parkway and Community Drive. I love to sit at that light and straight ahead is OKW and I know I'm home. Go straight through the light and you are there.
