directions to Fort Wilderness

what is the best way to get to the Fort coming from New Orleans. I remember someone saying there was a "back" entrance or something of that nature?

I believe you are referring to 429 off of the Turnpike. It was you had to go all the way to I-4 but 429 saves some time and mileage. It's the first exit for WDW.
