Hi,

could someone please post driving directions from the airport (MCO) to the Super Walmart is Kississmee? I know the one on 192 is closer but I have heard this store is a little scary?

After Walmart what would be the best way for me to get back to pop century?

Thanks so much!!!

yes, that is what i have heard. But isn't there another one somewhere else in Kiss???? Thanks again.

Scary? why is it scary? is it in a rough neighborhood? or what?

Maddle

I go to that Wal- Mart quite often and don't find it scary. The store is full of tourists and the parking lot is busy. There are newer Wal-Marts around the area but if you need to do your shopping for WDW it is OK to shop there.

Is any part of Florida in a rough neighborhood. Maybe thats just cause I am from Detroit Area, but there was nothing rough about kissimmee at all.

We went to that walmart 5 times on our last trip and not once did I have any problems or found it scary. The prices were resonable and they had almost everything in stock and on the shelves.

I have to take that back, the part that was SCARY was that the prices were actually low retail prices and not boosted to take advantage of the tourists... Go figure

Its only 15 mins from the world as well so its pretty darn close

No it is not in a bad neighborhood. 192 the road is just crammed with all sorts of businesses making for a lot of traffic. Also there is construction going on 192.

Thanks for the positive replies, several other posts have used the word scary because of traffic and the number of people. No, I have heard no mention of it being in a "bad" neighborhood. I was just wondering if a new walmart would be worth the effort. thanks again.

We just got back about a week ago, and found a Super Wal Mart on John Young Parkway. We took the John Young Parkway North exit off of #528 which is a tollway. Once you exit, keep heading north on the John Young Parkway, and the Super Walmart is on the right in a shopping center with various stores. The Super Wal Mart in Kissimee is not dirty, just busy. They have a travel store in the front at which you can purchase the elusive 5 day PHP with 4 plusses instead of 2. I paid $264 for this ticket, and we really used it for the waterparks. It's a great deal as one admission to the waterparks is about $32. I think the Super Walmart off of #528 is closer to the airport, though.

Nothing scary about this walmart, it is just busy, like most super walmarts.

This is really major construction. It looks like a war zone.

which part this time? We usually go 535 to the left on 192. Is this area torn up again?

yes gail....

major construction going on now just beyond the 535/192 intersection down going towards the superwalmart

there was quite a traffic jam going that way in june when we were down there for a weekend.....we started to take poincia (sp ) blvd to avoid that intersection ......

seems like it is a continuation of making that part of the 192 into 3 lanes each way

They are taking out the "suicide" turning lane in the middle and replacing with a median and barrier. But in the meantime they have the lanes shifted to be beside each other. You really have to pay attention with all the crazy drivers trying to manuever.

Thanks, guess I will be doing Winn Dixie or another WM.
The bummer is Sam's Club is there. wonder if there is a way around that. Hmmmm.

It's in the middle of construction but it isn't too bad because you are turning at a light.

Thanks, maybe it will progress a bit by Sept. Although, after watching the mess they made at the 536 and 192 intersection for quite a long time, I have my doubts. :)
