Hi All, just checking the maps to see how to get from HIFS to any entrance of WDW.....but can't find any info. Can anyone share the directions? Is there alot of traffic? How much time should you allocate to get to Disney? Do you pass any stores (CVS, grocery stores on the way). Is HIFS located on Continental Gateway or South International Drive. I can't seem to get the right address.
Sorry for all the questions, any replies would be appreciated!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Most people dont realize how close HIFS is to WDW. It's literally right across the experssway. There are 2 ways to get there, the first is to turn left out of HIFS( this can be a challenge since it is a 6 lane busy highway but there is a place in the middle to pause). Once you turn left you go across the highway I4 and you're on Disney Property! This road then turns into Epcot center drive. The other way is to turn right out of HIFS which takes you to the Gaylord Palms hotel (1/4 mile), turn right there go, to the stop light (3 blocks) and turn left, cross I4 and your right at POP Century Resort. From there turn right and your at DTD, go straight and your at DMGM, anywhere else follow the signs. There are lots of roads on Disney property that aren't on the maps they give you. My favortie is the backway into the AKL that comes out on 192 by the HOJO, I think its called Sherbert rd ......Have fun... I leave for FW in 2 weeks..........TAZ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :Pinkbounc  :earseek:  princess: :chat: :bounce:

Thanks for the great directions TAZ. It really does sound close. Its just weird that I'm finding two addresses for HIFS. One for International South drive and one for Continental Gateway. Does anyone know the reason for this? Maybe I'm just confused!

Have a great trip!

Tazdeb,
I'd recommend getting good directions from WDW back to HIFS too. When we were there recently, we had no problem getting to WDW but for some reason, we got lost almost every night coming back to our hotel. It really became quite a joke for DH and me - we usually don't get lost.
The locals weren't much help with directions - they kept wanting to send us to the regular International Dr., and HIFS is on South International Drive.

A couple of the holiday Inn websites say that the property is located on Continental Gateway and another says South International Drive. Maybe there's 2 holiday Inns?

I agree. It is VERY easy to get to the parks but it can be a little tricky getting back. However, the hotel provided us with directions both to parks and back to HIFS when we checked in and they were easy to follow.

HIFS is actually surrounded by 3 roads....1. the "front" of the hotel(where you go into the main lobby) is International drive south. You turn right out of here, and the next right is Osceola parkway. That is the route recommended to go to AK and MGM. 2. SR 536, that is the road at the "back" of the hotel. You would turn left on this to head to DTD, MK or Epcot 3. Continental gateway, is at the side of the hotel, (connecting SR 536 and International Drive south.
To get back to the hotel, follow signs to SR536, of airport or I4. Just dont turn onto I4. The only real troble we found was returning from MK. They have you exiting the park a different way than we went in. Follow the signs to Epcot, then pass Epcot and youll get to SR536 by following signs.
Hope thats clear as mud!! LOL

BTW if you take SR 536 in the opposite direction than you would to get to disney...ie. turn right...and go down 2 lights and go left, you are on SR 535. Follow that up and you find all kinds of restaurants. You go by the "crossroads area". If you go right at the lights on 535 you will get to and outlet mall a little ways down on your left. If you take SR535 all the way south to the end, you come out at I192 in Kissimmee.
Ask in the hotel lobby for a map and directions, they are quite helpful

Glad it wasn't just us getting lost on the way home. We also had no problems getting to the parks and killed ourselves laughing when we got lost every night.

We finally discovered by total accident, that whenever we were leaving WDW a HIFS Bus was driving in front of us, So we would follow it back to the hotel, lol!!

Thanks everyone for your replies. Getting home sounds alittle confusing!! But if they give you directions at the resort I think we will be okay!
:wave2:

Another way to find it is to look for the Marriott World resort as it is a tall building...you are right across the street from that.

As for the getting out of the parks, I still get turned around when trying to find Epcot Center drive on the way out...and I live here!!!
