Been doing the final studying on our drive from Metro Detroit to FW. We'll be coming down I-75. I've heard the "back way" mentioned to get to FW, which mentions the Flordia Turnpike.

I am assuming that I get off I-75 onto the Flordia Turnpike and take this to 429 to 535 to Vista Blvd. I saw a route off of 429 that ends up on World drive, but am leary (a F-350 with a 33' fiver in tow) that this route would be wise, although it would be cool for the kids to see us go past the final destination.

What works best? We'll be getting into town late Saturday or Early Sunday.

535 is getting busy and the turn into FW from that direction may be tough. 429 is actually a great new road. It has almost no traffic(and no traffic lights, unlike 535), it is a toll road and has highway speed. Once you exit 429 onto Disney property the speed does drop(and is enforced by local police/sherriff). Follow the signs to MK(it will be a left exit onto World Drive) and stay to the right as you go through the parking toll plaza, you will take the first right to get to FW.

I agree with previous poster, we used to use 535 all the time and now we take 429, it is actually faster and you can see the parks as you drive in, at least the top of the parks.

Does the entire route (429) have clearance of at least 12'-6" height?

Yes it does, my 5th wheel sits about that high and 429 is a Tollway and 18 wheelers can use it but I have not seen any on our trips.

429 is fine for all rigs, mine made it though it just fine. Upon exiting 429 to Disney World, you will go in the western entrance to WDW and come in by Coronado Springs Resort at W. Buena Vista Drive. Turning left will take you to World Drive and into the main entrance to WDW.

429 is a divided 4-lane just like the FL turn pike...only newer and smoother with cheaper tolls!
