Directair has a 50% off sale until Sat 30th July/11.
Any flights from now until April/2012.
It appears to include holidays like Christmas etc.
As an example , did a test booking of Niagara Falls To Lakeland/Orlando.
Over Xmas and New Year......$580 for 4 (including tax).
Use Code number : OHSOLOW
:thumbsup2

I just tried my dates for Fri. Feb.3rd going and Mon. Feb. 13th returning and it is showing $129 each way. This is not 50% off. I put in the promo code but it didn't change anything. How did you get this rate? Thanks.

thought they were 129 at first also, but you have to go beyond the booking select screen to get to the information screen where the total for RT is shown.....like instead of being 258 for a rt it is 120, then of course plus taxes which brings it to 180

this was for myrtle beach niagra falls for march 5 - 12, 2012 test run only

seems their taxes are a lil high but it includes what is called a convenience fee:

3/5/2012 IAG ADT 5817 FET Federal Excise Tax - IAG 9.00 USD
3/5/2012 IAG ADT 5817 CNV Convenience Fee - IAG 15.00 USD
3/5/2012 MYR ADT 5817 SEG Segment Tax - IAG 3.70 USD
3/5/2012 IAG ADT 5817 TSA September 11 Security Fee - IAG 2.50 USD
3/12/2012 MYR ADT 5816 FET Federal Excise Tax - MYR 9.00 USD
3/12/2012 MYR ADT 5816 CNV Convenience Fee - MYR 15.00 USD
3/12/2012 IAG ADT 5816 SEG Segment Tax - MYR 3.70 USD
3/12/2012 MYR ADT 5816 TSA September 11 Security Fee - MYR 2.50 USD

they are one of the airlines that will probably be "pocketing" these FAA fees at least as long as the congress does not pass the bill for continuing FAA approval

just as a side note...

SWA and Jetblue are just charging taxes in the amount of 7$ right now which would probably be PFC at each airport ( not sure about that, just what I surmise )

Generally speaking, with DirectAir, you have to buy the vouchers at the reduced rates. Then, book the flights you want. At least, that's the way it has worked for me.

got $129 also on first screen...ill try furthr..

wow !!got it 60 bucks...
thnx

As lawgs said.....you have to go to the next window (ie: you do not see the 50% discount until you move on to the next step)

I think this deal is just a straight 50% off deal.....no vouchers involved

To be honest....if you are getting it for 50% I think that more than compemsates for a slightly higher tax rate

smilawgs....

i was just making an observation about the current FAA squabble ( we got the 7$ with our SWA bookings this morning ) thus, not too concerned, but we all seem to want to get the best value for our $$ now we are above par..

our one way was 115$ and we had TT funds to use up also, thus, we stuck with SWA this time

We just flew DirectAir into Lakeland this past week and were very happy with our flights. It was very nice flying into a small airport. This trip was just to the Tampa/Gulf area and we were renting a car so it worked out very well. I'm just not sure about using it to go to Disney. I'm very tempted to for our January trip because of the great rates, but we aren't planning to rent a car and I'm afraid it will cost a lot for transportation from Lakeland. Plus the flight times from our city don't get us in to Lakeland until 8PM and flying back home we have to leave Lakeland at 2:15. I like to have earlier flights to Florida and later times back to maximize our time. Other than that, I would recommend them if the times work for you.

I'm considering Direct Air for a Feb. trip but concerned about ease of car rental at Lakeland. What choices were there if you recall?

It was very easy. I had pre-booked with Hertz. They only have Hertz and u-Save for car rentals onsite. I love the ease and convenience of small airports!
