Direct Transfers??

I received a postcard in the mail that if I attend their seminar at our local airport next Monday I will receive 2 round trip United tickets. Now normally we drive to Disney but in May we will need to fly so I could use these. I called the number and they said I will receive the tickets for attending the hour long presentation but I needed to bring proof with me that the DVC is in my name and I can make decisions on the property. Of course I realize they are going to try and get me to sell?? my DVC to them which of course I won't. I just want those tickets! Has anyone else attended their events just for the incentives? How easy is it to get them and get out? I was going to send my husband but since it has to be the person whose name is on the deed he can't go. It's probably not even worth going, even for the tickets, if they harass you too much so I thought I would ask! Bad idea??

I'm just curious...you keep referring to "they"...who are the "they" you are referring to?

Sorry for the late reply...didn't see the post! "They" is the company Direct Transfers.

IMO it sounds like a Scam. According to their own website:

Certificate Holder is responsible for a refundable $50 per person deposit, shipping charges, handling charges, processing fees, taxes, destination fees and other charges above and beyond the base value of the Certificate.

Those "processing fees" may be more than the value of the air ticket. Nothng is truly "free."

Edit: Did another search and according to some timeshare owners bulletin board, this is seems to be the case, very high fees, and travel dates "not available", etc.

Thanks Chuck...they really must have hid that disclaimer b/c I didn't see it when I checked their website! Definitely not worth going...we are traveling Mem Day weekend so I am sure that would be blacked out. Not worth the hassle/scam..thanks again.
