Direct poly owner with Riviera resale question

Hi, I currently own 150 points a poly with a direct contract. I was looking to add a resale contract (another 100 points) as 150 points isn’t enough for my family anymore. We like riviera, however we don’t want to stay there every time. If we buy riviera resale, with the restriction, would I be locked into using the additional 100 points of the riviera contract only at that resort? Or is that restriction only if I don’t own direct? I searched this forum and can’t seem to find the answer

Yes, if you buy resale the resale points can only be used at Riviera.

Yes as @JackosinDIS stated if you buy Resale Riviera you can only use them there.

If you want the savings of Riviera you could alternate the points and bank/borrow for a trip one year and just do Riv and then the next year you could do PVB.
Alternatively you could purchase the 100 RIV Points direct and then you would be able to combine then with your PVB 150 contract giving you 250 points to use at the 7 month window.

Yeah, all RIV resale points are restricted no matter what else you have.

Should have done Direct Riviera and Resale Poly if those 2 resorts were your top 2 IMO

Points are what carry the restrictions and not what else you own.

So, resale points at RIV are only good at RIV, even if you own other non restricted points.
