Direct linking pics?

Why do some "use" or direct link to other people's pictures? Shouldn't you ask or create your own and not direct link to someone's picture? Just curious.

I just noticed this evening a picture of mine was direct linked (my URL) from where I had it saved to someone else's "spot." Does that make sense?

It's a lot easier to "steal" the picture that someone else worked so hard on then make my own. Do you have any I can link to?

I do and when I found this picture that looked just like my picture I checked the properties of that picture. Low and behold 'twas my picture!
