If you're not prepared to be flexible on dates or route then you may as well book it. Direct prices vary very little.

Im similar, I usually have very fixed dates so I have the following rule:

Research the flights. Note down the price.

If the price is within my "reasonable" limits I will just book it then and there and be done with it.

If the price is over the limit I will wait 7 days to see if there is any movement. If it goes up I take another 7 days and see what happens, if it goes down I book it.

Its a gamble, this year we researched flights in November back in December 2012, then waited on the BA sale, no flights were in the sale that we wanted so booked it just after the sale ended, and paid less than we thought we would.

We know we definitely want to go again, but as I say-small window of opportunity!

Will just look,find,sigh/cry(!) And book- and its done and dusted.:cool1:

We are in similar situation with hardly any flexibility. Can i hijack for a second and ask is there any price variation between flying friday or a saturday?.Sorry married2mm:)

Glasgow were def working out the same when we have been looking,Manchester was cheaper on a thurs,Fri and sat the same.:goodvibes

we're the same, set dates and only like to fly direct.

personally I think youll have no problem getting them.
Ive checked similar dates in August for this year and ive been able to get them direct for a good price, from when they came out, up until about a month ago. The prices have risen a bit and the day I would have flown has become unavailable.
however I checked out the fly drive price on Virgin the other day and the quote wasnt too bad. However as we're having problems trying to get room sorted, I didnt get them and now theyve gone up over £200 :(
If I get the room sorted I may book them as its nice to have everything confirmed. :goodvibes

I would wait until 11 months out to compare scheduled airlines too.

However we don't ever fly chartered as we never do a standard 14 nights. Last time was 8 next time is 16.
