Direct DVC Purchase - do you need to sign within x days?

This. If you have the premier, you get 2% back and 6 months 0% interest to pay it off.

As a note, we financed our recent direct purchases because we were selling another contract to pay for it and so I wanted to give myself wiggle room even with the delayed closing, as I spread deposit out over 90 days. Turns out loan payments don’t begin till you close and interest doesn’t accrue till you close, an unexpected bonus! Also, you can pay off the loan with credit cards, and while you won’t get the 6 months 0%, you do get 2% back with Disney premier visa and 3 Ultimate Reward points per dollar with Chase Sapphire card. Had I known this before, I would have financed all my direct purchase so I could pay them with my credit cards. I’m weeping at the amount of rewards points I could have had, lol. :-)
This is amazing.

I just did 500 points at RIV direct to get the $156pp level with the Disney Visa credit.

I split into 3 payments over 90 days and did 2 on Amex Plat business to get 1.5x MR rewards and 1 on Chase Sapphire. I had no clue on 3x. I should switch them all to the Chase Sapphire. Then I can have better transfer options to like Hyatt or United.

I also split our use years adding October to all other December points. DVC point management is going to start becoming like credit point management. I’m going to need a google sheet with my direct and resale contracts and what I’m using for what stay. :)

Congratulations! And don't feel bad, I need an excel sheet to keep track and I don't have that many points! I'm constantly playing the "what if" I add a couple OTU points now, then I'll have more points to bank for priority next year. It's a handful at times but very rewarding when there are just the right amount of points at the right time!

Welcome to the spreadsheet club! I've admittedly gotten myself back down to just 1 UY, but I have a spreadsheets to track my DVC purchases down to the minute detail, including tracking my break even -- which also includes tracking the rewards I'm getting from purchasing and paying dues on credit cards*. Of course, it does help that we've used points for several Grand Villa, Cabin and Bungalow stays, and those really add to maximizing the value. :)

*I don't tend to pay my dues all at once, because I want to let me cash earn interest, so I pay monthly. However, I then purchase Disney Gift Cards, and use those to pay off my dues every month, either via BJs for the 4% discount on GCs and 1.5% back on Chase Unlimited (though sometimes Flex/Freedom have Wholesale as a 5% back category) or 2% on Amex Blue Business. Or if I'm looking for United points to use for international flights, I purchase Gift Cards through MileagePlus X where I earn 1.25% United Miles on Disney Gift Cards PLUS 1.5% on my Unlimited Card (and Chase UR Points can be transferred to United).

You make me feel less crazy or justify my intensity of my point insanity ❤️❤️

I was just thinking I need to call and get those OTU points on each UY before it’s too late.
