When I joined in June on a DCL Cruise, I opted for direct debit. I sent my check a few weeks ago and my payment day is (was) Sept 1. I know it is late if it is after the 16.

What date do they usually pull from your account? At what point do I call them?

My dues normally show up on the 2nd of every month. I would give it a few days, it might just take your bank time to post it.

I hope so. I will have to call when I return from DLR and the half marathon. I sure hope they got my check!

My dues come out around the 15th of the month. Been like that for years.

MS generally gives you your choice of debit dates, either the 1st or the 15th. And a note tto those that have it debited on the 1st, the January dues payment is always delayed until the 15th of the month.

We opted for the 1st, so I'm worried that is hasn't been drafted yet. I'll keep everyone posted.

And it is late on the 16th?? I'm just worried my first payment will be late! I guess I'll call them when I get back from Disneyland.

No. Considering that the dues for the year are not really due until mid January timeframe of next year. There is no late date until then. I would say that some months the payment is debited the 15th and some months it may be the 16th or the 17th. It depends what day of the week the 15th falls on and my banks schedule. The way that I look at it DVC gets there money and my dues are paid. Now if you are really talking about your mortgage payment then that could be a different situation. Our DVC is paid for so we are only debiting our dues with the monthly deduction.

Actually, the dues that will be considered late in mid-January 2010 are for the 2010 calendar year. Unless they are monthly debited, dues are paid in advance of the calendar year, not for the year that was just completed in December. Dues also have no relationship to use year.

I stand corrected. From the information on the member website that is what it says. Another thing that I guess I did not fully understand. I guess the next question would be at what point are direct debited dues considered late? I beleive 90 days past due is considered late? And at that point a member would begin to experience issues with reservations.

You just prompted me to look in our account. :)

If you're signed up for direct debit, do you mean you sent the canceled check so they have the account info? I got all confused for a minute. :)

This is the first month we'll be paying the dues so I don't know what it's going to look like for that, but with the loan, a few days before its due date I can't do anything with that part of my account; it gets kind of locked up. So I can't help but think it will look like that in the dues section, a few days around the 15th.

Oh, and for my account, with dues due on the 15th, I have this message:

Annual Dues are due on September 15, 2009. Late fees and interest will be assessed after September 29, 2009.

So that does match your worry that yours will be late on the 16th. Like I mentioned, you could stop in the DVC place (it's behind/to the side of DLH) on your trip, or you could just call them!

I got home tonight to look at my page and it said that I cannot make a payment because I have a pending transaction for the loan. I would assume that means they have attempted to take it out of my account? If I do not see it posted tomorrow or the next day, I will have to call MS. I sent an email, and got no response (sent Thursday).

The annual dues will be paid by the 16 via personal check. No worries there.

Always make sure you have money ready to be withdrawn days before you expect it! There has been occasions that Disney took the money before the 15th!
