Direct Air - have you flown them?

How was your experience with Direct Air? What about Sanford/Orlando airport? Was it as easy as traveling into MCO?

Haven't flown with them yet..first time in April. But, I have friends who have flown with them and they have all given good reports. Sure, there have been instances where things weren't perfect. With Direct Air, at least from our airport, there aren't nearly as many flights as one would like. so, if a flight gets cancelled, it could be an issue getting another plane in there quickly. I wouldn't book with Direct Air if I 'had' to be somewhere that day, or perhaps even the next. I have booked with them for over April vacation. We fly out on a Thursday, which gives up plenty of wiggle room before our cruise departure on Sunday.

Sanford Intl is a dandy little airport. I have flown in there in the past. It is very user friendly, and much smaller than MCO. It takes about an hour to get to WDW...a rental car is probably the best way to go.

Direct Air is fine to fly with, no issues when we did it. Sanford is a nice airport, so easy to go thru security. It was almost funny, we were the only ones being screened and the guy was joking with Dd about where was her drivers license? Much nicer than the HUGE line at MCO!

For the third time this year. It is a charter airline so be prepared for older planes. However, we have had great experiences. We flew to Sanford in April with no issues. The airport is small and easy. On our flight home our plane had a mechanical issue. We were delayed a while and we had to wait for another plane and crew to fly in. They gave us drinks and snacks and updated us often. It was the best the situation could have been and I think it was handled well.
