Direct Add-On Questions

I want to make sure I’m understanding correctly that if I buy BLT resale points, I can’t then book Riviera and other new resorts at 7 months out?
We sometimes book BLT at 11 months out to make sure we have a place to stay for the nights we want. Then we look to see what is available at 7 months to switch to.
Yep. As someone who owns at RIV but has been considering BLT resale, I'm pretty familiar with this. Your BLT resale points could not be used at RIV, the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness, or I believe the Disneyland Hotel as of right now. Any other resort would be ok at the 7-month window. The current presumption is that the same restriction would apply to all new resorts DVC builds (unless, miraculously they scrap this and/or provide some way in the future to reinstate resale points with full benefits - can't plan on that though).

Correct. It’s the points that carry the restrictions and BLT resale post 2019 are restricted from RiV and beyond of new resorts.

It’s why we sold…it was frustrating to need 20 or 30 points to complete a RiV booking and not be able to use the 100 BLT points sitting there.

Now, we own all points eligible everywhere and if we do buy more, it will only be direct.

Correct. The current resorts that those points would be excluded from are Riviera, Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Likely any future resorts would fall into these restrictions, but Disney has not confirmed that yet.

You of course can continue to use your direct points at all of them.
