When purchasing a new direct add on contract what points would you get?
Use year is Aug if that helps.

2017,2018

Thank-you
Hugs Mel

You would get the current Use Years points and all the remaining years until contract termination. So with Aug still being in the 2017 UY you would get 2017 points right now and on 8/1/18 you would get the 2018 UY points. You could bank the 2017 UY points into 2018 UY (Guides likes to call this "double points"). The big upside is you will not pay MF's on the 2017 points. You will only be paying prorated fees on the 2018 points (so you are getting 2 years worth of points for only a fraction of the MF's of a single year and is why they like to call it "double points")

However, if you were to purchase a Feb UY for instance you would get current UY points and all future points as with any contract. The difference being the Feb contract would already be in the 2018 UY, so you would be getting 2018 UY points at the time of purchase.

You would get both 2017 and 2018 points for an AUG UY direct purchase right now

Thank-you both for your help.

Yeah!!!:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:
Points are available and I just added them on.
They should be available in my account by 6pm tonight.
I will sign all the papers on Tuesday at SSR sales office.
Biggest present I've ever bought myself!

Today's a Magical Day for me!
I am going to try a "one time exception" and have the 2017 points applied /used for this trip.

P.S.
DVC Guide said they have 687 people waitlisted for points at OKW for add ons,,yes I know this is coming from a Disney Timeshare salesperson,,,just thought I'd mention it.

Member services told me today that I have to think in terms of a new yearly calendar.
No more Jan to Jan.
My new calendar is Aug To Aug.

I just bought Feb direct DVC points. Never asked will call tomm, does that mean I got 2017 & 2018 or only 2018 UY points?

Congrats.

Unfortunately no. Had you purchased the contract in January 2018 then you have gotten both 2017 & 2018 points.

Wish I knew that. Oh well. When that happens do you pay both year of MF?

MF are billed by calendar year so you would pay MF based on that. For example, we added on direct in Feb for an April UY. Since we were still in 2017 for our UY we received 2017 points but because we were in calendar year 2018 we only paid prorated 2018 dues on the 2018 points, no 2017 dues. Clear as mud?

Wow, that's a lot of people on a waitlist.. I had no idea there were that many! Do you know if that is total amount of people for multiple UY's or just OKW/Aug UY? Reason I ask is that I have a contract in rofr right now @ OKW. I've seen MANY OKW contracts pass lately at good prices. I'd think they'd be exercising rofr more if there were that many buyers lined up... curious. Oh, and Congratulations!!! pixiedust::yay::rockband:

Hi Hon
I did ask her if that was just for Aug UY and she said no it's for all use years, @ OKW.
I think a lot of people are adding on small point contracts,,I have seen a lot of larger contracts pass through DVC fofr.
Best wishes to you and a bit of Pixie Dust Too!
