The current incentives for Riviera looks interesting enough that we are considering adding one. Having never done an add-on, I'd be grateful if someone wouldn't mind sharing the process. From what I've gathered:

1) We need to call and speak to a guide (don't even know who our guide is as we last bought VGF on a cruise!)

2) Then what happened? Does the guide take my credit card info over the phone and that's it? Or does he have to send me actual paper documents by USPS to be signed? Or can this be done via email? Do I need to go to a notary to have my signature notarized or does Disney offers video conferencing notary service which seems to be gaining popularity these days?

Sorry for all the questions. I couldn't find a thread describing the whole direct add-on process. And if you wouldn't mind sharing how long this takes, that'd be helpful too as we have a trip planned inside the 11-month but outside the 7-month window, so might want to get a few nights at Riviera.

If relevant, the mailing address is in TX. We don't need financing. It'll go on my Disney credit card for the cash back and 6-month 0% interest and then paid off.

When we added on, I called the guide. He took my credit card and we decided on how much to charge at each time across 30 days. The points were in the account less than 30 minutes later and the electronic documents were in my email in a couple of hours. I did not need a notary; I live in CT.

I know there is an add-on tool online. Don't know how it works since I am an international member and it doesn't work for me

We added on 200 VGF points in March. Cash deal, so simple process. They allowed us 90 days to pay it off (it's done now, before the 90 days). Points were in the account immediately. We were onsite when we did it so we went to the DVC office at SSR to sign the paperwork.

Yes, speak with a guide. If you don't know who that is, call the sales number (888-292-5927) or you can use the add-on tool and someone will reach out to you.

Yes, credit card over the phone. You will sign electronically (Docusign). I did not need a notary - it tends to vary by location and whether or not you are financing (I noticed that you are not financing). For a credit card purchase, you can do (1) all of it immediately, (2) 10% down plus closing costs, then the balance in 30 days, or (3) ask for approval for extending out to 60 or 90 days (payments will be spread evenly).

How long does this take? Call them earlier in the day tomorrow and have the points in your account tomorrow. Even before you sign.

We used the add on tool and received a call within 30 minutes. I was surprised because it was a Friday and they called around 7pm. We knew exactly what resort and how many points so that was easy. Gave them CC info and points in our account within an hour. We were emailed docs which we digitally signed and returned. Done. Its amazingly easy to spend big money with Disney.

I wouldn't worry about who your guide is because, as I understand it, there were a lot who didn't return after covid. We hadn't had any contact with our old one for several years.

I added on at VGF in early March. I indicated an interest in buying via the DVC website & a guide called me - I gave him the info. & cc #, the edoc.s arrived in my email & I signed them. I arranged to have them charge 1/3 of the total 3 times w/ each charge hitting the card a week apart, so as to not go over my limit & then I just paid each week after the charge showed on the cc. I did that to stay below my credit limit - but the result (after I’d paid each week) was that my card upped my limit, so if there’s a next time I won’t need to spread the payments out 😂. The points showed up in my membership almost immediately, well before I’d paid for it.
