We're looking forward to tryin' some dots:):)

There's a location listed at Typhoon Lagoon, but was wondering if anyone has gone to any of the "Off-site locations"?

Hoping that it's yummy!!:teeth:

Anne,
I've never tried them but they had a special on Food TV the other night (the unwrapped show) basically they freeze the ice cream at verrry low temps (like liquid nitrogen low or something to that effect). I also not sure if the rotate the mixture in this very cold freezer to get the tiny dots. I'm sure the show will come on again before the Fall schedule gets here.

We love Dippin' Dots!!! It's a special treat every time we go to the mall or the Space and Rocket Center. We like to combine flavors....like Chocolate/Strawberry, etc. Everyone in our family likes a different kind.

Rest assured....they're yummy!!::yes::

Our 13yr old DD is a dippin' dots fanatic. During our last trip in Oct. 2003, we were driving down 192 on our way back to OKW. Out of the thousands of signs and billboards our DD spotted a small sign that said dippin' dots! We worked our way into the parking lot of this strip mall and low and behold there it was, a stand alone dippin' dots store. They had every flavor under the sun. Our DD was in heaven and ordered the largest size they had! She's already planning several return visits when we're there in Oct. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact location of the store but I do remember it's on the north side of 192.

I emailed them to ask about lactose free but they don't have any but I guess from their response that I can have the "Ice" ones...

Here is the reply...
"We do not offer an ice cream that is lactose free, but our flavored ice is. Our ice flavors include Rainbow, Watermelon, and our newest flavor, CherryBerry (which is delicious!). The location in Kissimmee will probably offer all of these flavors."

Cherry Berry sounds good to me...DH will have the regular and I can try it out...

i just had to comment on this , it is soo funny you always want what you can't find, their only plant is here and so i could have them all the time and can't stand them! used to work there years ago, i think our whole town is just burnt out on them! good luck finding them, i can't wait for dunkin donuts the closest one to us is 4 hrs so i get them when we go to disney! heather:earsgirl:

Our family's tradition is to grab our Dippin Dots in Universal as we are heading in to watch Sinbad. AAAHHH memories.

Thanks everyone!

PhotobearSam...I'll send them a lactose free request as well:) Enough people ask for it, it will happen:)

My mom is allergic to nuts, so we're hoping that the "ice" option will work for her:)

They are in all the malls here in Texas, so I bet the Orlando area malls may have kiosks with them, too. =)

We have a furniture store in our area that thrives on gimicks. They give you a bowl of "dippin' dots" in what ever flavor you wwould like plus choclate chip cookies just for coming in. They have a whole ice cream bar set up in the front of the store and that is how they greet you. As you walk in they give you hot choclate chip cookies and then send you to the "dippin'dots". Let me tell you, I got them when i was at Universal and the amount they give you at Jordan's furniture is twice the amount you pay for. People always take the kids in cause it is all the free fill it yourself soda (pepsi) and/ premium coffee) IN the winter there is also a choice of premium cocoa. It just cracks me up, that we get this stuff for free and yet they charge like 499 in fla for it.

Twinkies....:):):)

Yet another vacation food!!;);)

LOL Heather!!:):):)

Did you ever have twinkies with choclate frosting and white squiggle just like Hostess cup cakes?? Now THAT is a vacation food.

Dippin Dots are showing up at all amusement parks--my DD is addicted and I find them tremendously expensive. I was thinking of contacting the factory to find out if there's any place to buy them.

Since my DS has a life-threatening milk allergy we have been relieved to discover that in the amusement park kiosks they generally have rainbow ice. This is milk-free and he has successfully eaten them (his tongue is very sensitive and he would know if there were any cross-contamination).

I have never seen any of the other "ice' flavors, such as cherry-berry or watermelon in many dippin dot locations, and not all of them carry the rainbow ice, so if you can find rainbow, be grateful.
