Dinosaur - Will the name ever be changed?

I remember when Dinosaur was Countdown to Exinction - a great name. But now that it is still Dinosaur, after the movie wasn't that much of a hit as say Finding Nemo, will it ever go back? All they did was stick the iguanodon out front (I think). Does anyone else feel the same?

Nope.

Being that a name change doesn't change the ride itself, I can't say I feel the same. I don't personally thinks it makes a huge difference whether the movie was a hit or not, it's nice to see Disney recognizing some "lesser known" movies of theirs.

The only reason the name was changed was because the rock band Megadeth and Dave Mustane sued Disney over the name Countdown to Extinction.

It's a ride about dinosaurs- the name "Dinosaur" is nice and descriptive. "Countdown to Extinction", to those not informed of what the ride is about, might think it was something "educational" and not give it a try.

They should rename it Dino-Sore, as in how my back feels after I get off that ride. Sore! :headache:

I'm going to assume you're kidding.

(You can't copyright titles.)

I think they should rename it Indiana Jones Adventure

We haven't ridden it yet!!! That one and the Dino-Whirl. I'm DYING to get my son on Dinosaur and perch him on the left side for the dino fear factor. I can picture his reaction now  :lmao: - he takes these things so well!!!!

I haven't been on it in years. My kids are all too little for it. Well now my oldest is tall enough but I showed her the ride on the WDW website and she nearly started crying, too scary. So I will likely have to go on alone while she sits outside with my mom. I just hate making my mom wait around while I stand in a long line. I heard that Everest has a single rider line? Will I be able to find it ok? Should I just ask a CM about it? There are many rides my mom won't go on and my dd won't either so it will be me in a long line all alone. :(

Though I know they re-named it after the movie, I have never thought of it that way.

In all honesty I doubt my son will go on, even though he's 14. He does have a slight heart murmur so I let him decide what he'll ride. As far as he's concerned, TOT and Rnr are fahgeddaboutits and more than likely so will Dinosaur. No biggie, my daughter will ride with me. I heard that there's now a single rider line at EE. I'm sure it's as well marked as the one at Test Track, but you're right, the CM's will know where it is. A few years ago when my mother came with us, she didn't ride the rides either, except the classics such as IASW, and Peter Pan. However, she LOVED Epcot, especially the WS. Enjoy your vacation and hope you get lots of pixie dustpixiedust:

They might rename it as Indiana Jones Adventure, but it will never be Indiana Jones Adventure. Sure, same track layout and ride vehicle, but not the same experience.

:rotfl2:

I think that was the point. (I know it was for ME.)
;)

We'd PREFER it to be called Indiana Jones Adventure...
if they would just CHANGE the RIDE to the Indiana Jones Adventure.
