Dinosaur scary for adults!?!?

Yeah, I don't remember the ride being very jolting or jumpy...

Because I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY MIND! Full grown adult here, and at one point I thought I was gonna cry... and I LIKE dinosaurs! This one was just too much for me

I don't remember there being very many dinosaurs in the ride at all. It was like a very bumpy Sunday drive in the country.






Of course my eyes were closed the whole time.

I've read a quite a few posts where adults say that Dinasaur was one of the more scary rides for them. To some it was scarier than the "thrill rides".

I don't understand why. I mean, after a certain age, we realise that the dinosaurs are....well..... not real

So why would it be scary for a grown up?

Not ONE of the so called "thrill rides" scare me in the least, but I don't like the Dinosaur ride! It's dark, and you don't know where you are going, or what's going to happen. Give me Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster anyday!

I am also terrified of ferris wheels and when they had a sky ride, you wouldn't catch me on that thing for anything!

This one gets me every time. The dark and the surprises. No matter how much I prepare, I'm never ready for the surprise where they take the photo -I always look scared out of my mind!

It can be a little scary, even if you have been on the ride many times before. I think part of the reason for the "scariness" is due to sensory overload. The loud noises, flashing lights in the dark, and jerky ride keeps you off guard.

I'm sorry but when a huge 'man eating' dinosaur jumps out of the dark at you and roars so loud your brains shake its scary to me! No matter how many times I ride it even though I know its coming I still jump and scream like a 6 yr old!

Has the OP actually ridden this ride before? They didn't say whether or not they did, they just didn't understand why people would be afraid of "fake" dinosaurs, which makes me wonder if they've ridden it..............otherwise I would think that they would understand why some folks are scared.

My 2 grand daughters never want to ride it again

Scary? Of course it's not scary... in our picture from Dinosaur I am just trying to show the T-Rex my tonsils... not screaming for dear life!

No, it is not too scary for adults, but very JERKY. Not for those of us with back/ neck trouble.

I had seen a special on TV about this ride, and knew ahead of time what was going to happen. I got on the ride thinking I was prepaired. I then proceded to scream and hide my eyes like a two year old. I enjoyed the ride (well the 25% of it I saw) over all.

My mom is really not a ride person, so when we took her to AK we made her go on Dinosaur (I know, her children are so bad to her!!) She was kind of taken aback by the initial shock of this ride, but loved the excitement factor! By the end of the trip, she made it known that this was her favorite ride of the whole trip. Who would imagine a 50 year old woman who doesn't like rides much, would love Dinosaur the most. If you get motion sick easily, I would maybe skip this one. But if 8 years olds can survive, I'm sure you'll enjoy this ride

I loved this ride, but hold on to your bags our friend we went with lost his bag on the ride we had to wait till the park was cleared and sure enough it was recovered on the track

Dinosaur is pretty intense in my opinion. It's very loud. I hadn't been on it before, and in May we rode it twice in a row. The jumping and lurching forward was fun, but the loudness of the screaming combined with the last dinosaur was scary! I know that the dinosaur is fake, but it still is startling to the senses. We actually bought the picture from Dinosaur because DBF is making this ridiculous face and giving a thumbs-up to the camera, and I'm sitting there looking away and covering my ears! I can see how certain adults could be pretty terrified by this one!

It scares the pee out of me. If I agree to get on, I cower down and close my eyes. The pictures each time are hilarious since I'm barely visible!

I'd rather just skip it...

I love Dinosaur. It's one of my favortie rides. You get the best ride on the back row because it's the bumpiest. The ride is very intense. And it does throw you around a lot. For those of you who were so scared, where you able to hear Dr Seeker, from the preshow, on the speaker. He tells you what is going on through the whole trip. If you didn't, try to ride it again and listen to the audio. It really adds to ride. And try to keep your eyes open so you can enjoy the show. The big dino, on the right, that jumps out at you, actually only leans forward a little bit and roars. That'is where they take your picture when the lights flash. We always make funny or scared faces at that point so it will be in the picture. Don't think of it as scary, just exciting. Oh, and be sure to keep your eyes open at the end when Dr. Seeker "Get them out of there, now!" to see the big dino face to face with you. The big gust of wind and slight dip right there still tips my stomach a little.

I'll be frank with you.

I first rode this ride at the age of...maybe 15? 14? Around there. No ride has ever freaked me out as much as "Dinasour." It could be b/c it resembled a roller coaster. I do not like roller coasters. (I wouldn't have gone on it if I had known ahead of time the truth of the ride. The ride attendent said it wasn't that bad. LIAR! *growls.*) Anyways, I don't remember a bit of the ride. I cried like a baby. (Thank God it was so loud. Mom was the only one that heard me. ) I remember one thing, and one thing only: Seeing the picture at the end and blushing for the next ten minutes. I would never go on this ride again.

To the poster who asked if I'd ever rode Dinosaur: no I haven't, but hope to do it soon! I still can quite comprehend how an adult is scared by something like this, though the rock concert/sensory overload analogies make me understand better.

I can only said that it sounds like those of you who were scared by the ride got to really, REALLY experience all the intensity that Dinosaur throws your way. I guess that's the way it should be!

Maybe in a few months I'll be the one posting here how I went hysterical with fear while riding Dinosaur!

just put it this way: it's the most REAL feeling trip you'll ever take. I wasn't scared but I'm a complete FX nut and now years later am still completely amazed at how good a job they did with it. I can easily see how some people, even adults "who know better", can get freaked out.
