DINOSAUR is closed forever.

I love DINOSAUR. It’s my favorite ride at animal kingdom and my 3rd favorite at Disney World (tower of terror and Tiana’s bayou adventure).

The first time I rode DINOSAUR was in July 2010 which was my first trip to Disney world. We started the day at the safari and around 3:00 made it to Dinoland. So I grabbed a paper fast pass with a 3:30 return time and we went to ride the two other rides there. At 3:30 we went to DINOSAUR, gave the guy our fast passes and walked into a completely empty queue! It turns out you don’t need to fast pass DINOSAUR!

Fast forward to August 2025 and we were back for one final ride. But this time DINOSAUR actually had a huge line that went outside to the right and took like 45 minutes walking through the plants! It seems I wasn’t the only DINOSAUR lover at animal kingdom that day!

I loved the intro video. I loved the panicked narrator while you’re on the ride. And I loved the dinosaur animatronics!

We’re not gonna make it! We’re not gonna make it!

Here’s me before that final ride.

I really liked DINOSAUR too. I kind of wish they had figured out a way to keep it or plus it up. Honestly, my idea was for Indiana Jones to find a lost valley of dinosaurs in South America - it totally tracks! At least Indy is essentially the same ride (and better in a lot of ways)! DINOSAUR had charm though. I saw where Dr. Seeker paid them a visit on the last day - "Hel-lo there." It will be missed.

I sometimes say “We’re not gonna make it! We’re not gonna make it!” whenever it’s a good reply to something. Usually if we are running late for something or anything that I can slip it in for. Sometimes I’ll change the “we’re” to you’re, or to I’m. Still serves its purpose. lol.

My family loves that ride. Ever since our girls were little we would get off the ride and go right back on it like six times in a row. Because yes, you never need a Fastpass for that!

Our last trip was November 2024 and we weren’t sure if we were ever going to go back before it closed so I think we rode it at least ten times over the two days we were at AK.

We did all sorts of poses for the photos. And made sure we were all looking at the camera and smiling for one of them.

Then my daughter and I did a surprise trip in November 2025 and I think we rode it like six times the one day we were in AK. We thought the ride would’ve been closed by then so it was a nice bonus.
