I don;t like rollwr coaster I wont even get on one. But I love Splash Mt. How is the Dino ride. I knoe the efeects are great but how is the ride? Also how is Test Track and Soaring?
pirate: Lexi

Dinosaur is a very bumpy ride, very dark, and then flashes of bright lights.. More like an obstacle course than a roller coaster.

Test track is my DD7 favorite attraction. the main attraction of test track doesn't last long - just a quick trip around, in an open convertible. Most people love the feelig of going fast in an open car.

Haven't been to Soarin yet - hope to catch it Friday on a 1 day trip..

I don't do roller coasters. Splash Mtn is fine for me. Thunder mountain railroad and Space mountain is okay too. Body Wars is horrible for me.

Test track and the Dinosaur ride I was fine with. No problems. I'm wondering on whether I should try Soarin in July. I think the concept is awesome, but wondering if the virtual reality would bother me.

I'm waiting for all the reports to come in.

I thought I was going to be in need of a body cast after Dinosaur. That's one ROUGH ride! OUCH!

Soarin' is great! You'll love it!

We loved Dinosaur!! My dad, who is diabetic and has high blood pressure, wasn't originally gonna go on this ride. My mom and I rode while he and my DH waited outside with the girls. Well, we loved it so much we practically MADE them use the babyswap to ride and they loved it too. It is a little bumpy and rough, but I didn't think it was enough to hurt! Maybe I'm just tough! princess:

The effects are very impressive we thought and I cracked my whole "Jeep" up because I truly was a little "frightened and jumpy"...but the good kind!!!! I would suggest at least doing it once so you know what you're missing should you not go on it again! That's ALWAYS my theory (unless there are medical issues preventing you from going)...in that case DON'T GO!! :Pinkbounc

Now that is a great Aurora! princess: She looks just like her!

Can't wait to ride Dinosaur. I'm hoping it won't be too scary for my 4 yd DD.

Rough and bumpy is the best way to describe this in my opinion!
It is not at all like a rollercoaster...
we did baby swap, with my hub, bro and oldest son going first... while i waited with our two younger kids.
When they got done, my oldest wanted to go on with me, my sis in law and my niece... so we did... our pic below gives you a good idea of how scary it can be! lol!
none of us in the car are acting, i was so scared i leaned over and burried my face in my sons lap! I am a chicken though! hah!
But ck out the rest of our car load! Those teen boys were terrified!
it was great to do once, but no need for us to do it again!

I thought this ride was very scary. It was DARK and BUMPY. My 6yo ds had his head hidden the whole time, but still claimed he wanted to go on it again. I didn't like it so much.

So general opinion would probably be it's to intense for an almost 4 year old? We'll be going appx. 2 weeks before my son turns 4 and he's seen bits and pieces of the dinosaur ride on travel channel shows, etc. and says he wants to ride it. He's done Ellen's Energy Adventure since he was 2 and loves that but of course it's not really bumpy like the Dinosaur ride (and I haven't gone on the Dinosaur ride in probably at least 5 years so I can't remember what it's like).

I love Dinosaur, though I end up with a sore neck afterwards because I spend the entire ride trying to duck! No matter how many times I ride it! :)

My son has been riding Dinosaur since he was three - but he is a Dinosaur FREAK - loves everything about them. I think if the ride were the same, but with a different theme - who knows if he'd do it?

It is VERY bumpy and jerky and LOUD. I agree with a PP - no need for me to do it again - I too, am sore when I get off of this thing.

The special effects are great, though. I think this one is always a tough call. People seem to be very divided.

and am big time neurotic (does that count?). I have not been on Splash, any of the coasters, TOT, Test Track, and Mission Space. I have, however been on Dinosaur (and Star Tours) at least 3 times, and although I am afraid I'll be thrown from the car (because it bounces so much), I'm still willing to do it again. Are Test Track and Splash even tamer than Dinosaur? If so, I may need to rethink my fear about going on. What age are kids usually able to ride? I would never try these without DH, so all bets are off if we would have to do a baby swap.

Fran, if you haven't been on Splash before, you are REALLY missing out. REALLY.

That drop looks a lot worse than it is (it's only like what, 52 feet?), and you have to understand that that is the END of the ride - there is a 10-minute boat ride inside that has dozens of AA's and special effects. It's amazing. The drop doesn't feel a whole lot worse than the one in Pirates, it just LOOKS scary.

I'm telling you, even if you close your eyes for the end, Splash will be your new favorite ride. If you can handle Dinosaur, you can handle Splash.

It's the best, most complex, and pretty ride Disney has ever made!

I hope you try it soon. :)

Does Dinosaur cause much jerking of your upper body? I had cardiac bypass surgery 9 months ago, and my doc recommended that I not do rides that put pressure on my chest.

I thought Dinosaur was unnecessarily rough. It was like hitting a series of deep potholes on alternating sides of the vehicle, causing your body to be thrown violently in one direction, then another, then back again, etc. I found it impossible to enjoy the story and the theming of the ride because my focus was on whether or not I was suffering damage to my neck or spine. So I didn't find the ride scary since I missed most of that, but I was concerned that I would need a chiropractor by the end of the ride to put my spine back in alignment. I won't be going on it again.
